    LOVED The Wolverine

This is a great film. Hugh Jackman IS Wolverine. There's no doubt about it after this film. I love the fact that the film loosely followed the 1984 limited run of Wolverine (it was only four issues), as those have always been my favorite Wolverine comics. The end was OK... I may have liked the alternate ending (included in the DVD extras) slightly better... My biggest complaint with the Wolverine films is that Wolverine REALLY needs an R rated film. This one was great, but you just don't get the brutal nature of Wolverine in a PG-13 film. If you're a comic fan, Wolverine fan, or just like action, you can't go wrong with this movie.

Right out of the gates, the latest Wolverine plunges straight into action. The story takes you from Japan in the past, to present day Japan. It ties the inward struggles that Logan faces together with those of an old friend. Plenty of action saturated this film, from sword fighting and ninjas, to straight up shooting and claws. The picture and sound deliver wonderfully on BluRay. I have yet to partake in the extras but, they are definitely present. This makes it a complete package well worth your money. Easily one of the best in the X-MEN film canon. So, go get it! What are you still sitting and reading this for?

"The Wolverine" Gets Better and Bloodier

"The Wolverine" is a near perfect film that is only marred by a weak third act. The longer R-rated cut doesn't exactly improve on these problems, but it actually improves on what already worked in the film. We get more sequences of character development, a few more action sequences for the female characters, and the blood and visible claw penetration improves the already spectacular fight scenes. There are also some great bonus features. If you must buy one blu-ray of "The Wolverine," buy this one. P.S. Don't bother with the 3-D version.

Unlike the initial entry of the stand alone Wolverine series, this one is actually watchable. With a more action and dramatic depth, this movie will satisfy your craving for an entertaining Wolverine movie. Taking place in Japan, it is a nice and different backdrop compared to the standard comic book adaptation. As entertaining as it is, it's still lacking in certain aspects. And is nowhere near the top of the comic book film adaptation crop. A definite watch for Wolverine and X-Men fans.

Wolverine is the toughest & roughest of The X-Men whereas to see "The Wolverine" in 3D Blu-Ray makes the movie even better than what you can ever think!!! The picture quality (especially the 3D Blu Ray) and sound are just unreal by both being so clear... I am going to recommend this 3D Blu Ray to family & friends without a doubt... The other other thing that can top this were is if Wolverine was included in a "3D Blu Ray combo pack" in addition to BestBuy's "Upgrade & Save" for additional savings if BestBuy ever were to bring that Program back......

I bought this 3D set for the longer and unrated cut. It is more visceral and better realized. It also showcases more of Yukio fighting and interacting with Logan. In a way, this cut cleared the way for the no-prisoner approach of "Logan". The lone extra is an informative commentary track by director James Mangold. More extras can be found on the theatrical cut. Hi-Def video and audio are excellent on both cuts. I can't vouch for 3D version since I don't have a player. Overall, I like the extended presentation of "Wolverine" available on this set.

I bought this movie mainly because I had a gift card for Best Buy so I chose to buy this one. I have most of the Marvel movies anyway so I eventually plan to get them all for collection purposes - otherwise I'm not sure I would have purchased this one. This movie has somewhat of a damsel-in-distress storyline, although not the main part of it. If you're a Marvel and/or Wolverine fan then I can't recommend against seeing this movie, just don't be surprised if you feel a bit disappointed afterwards.

I wasn't sure what to expect with this one as it seemed llke it was out in the theaters and then quick to DVD somewhat quietly. I didn't even realize it had been released initially. I typically don't see these in the theater as I know I'm going to buy the Blue Ray (have full series). I wasn't disappointed with this latest edition. There could have been a little more filled in at the beginning that brought you to how/what transpired to get Wolverine to where he was at this point in the future but by time things get moving, you won't miss it. Great action, solid story line, excellent effects. A must see!

The previous X-Men Origins: Wolverine was a low point for the X-Men Universe, X-Men: The Last Stand not withstanding, but The Wolverine redeemed his status as a great character in a good film. Three versions are here which includes the theatrical, 3D, and extended-cut. I personally switch between the theatrical and extended as I can't decide on which one works better. Which mainly has to do with the third act. Over all this is a great companion to the superior Logan film. Recommended.

bought this cause i wanted to see the extended cut. had been a a while since seeing the movie so the added scenes i didn't really pick up on. its not a bad movie but also not one of the strongest marvel movies. jackman is top notch again as wolverine. visually looks great , sound is great as well. i can not comment on how 3d is because i do not have a 3d tv. but buying it this way is the only way to get the expended edition. one complaint is the digital copy is of the theatrical release only

This honestly is a good movie. The unleashed version though, is a GREAT movie! You get a lot more action and the scenes flow better. There are scenes that were cut out and put back in which makes the story so much richer. Hugh jackman has never dissapointed as wolverine, even in the horrible Origins movie and here he definitely delivers. The surrounding cast is also great especially his new side kick Mariko. I really hope they expand on what they created here with the next wolverine movie which has been announced. If you're a fan of the xmen movies, you will not be dissapointed.

You are getting every possible format in this edition. 3D Bluray, Bluray, DVD and Digital copy for a great price. This Bluray does not have a nice slipcase or special presentation, ie steelbook, but it does give you every format, loaded with special features, and this movie is a must own for fans of XMen, Wolverine, Marvel, or Superhero movies in general. The movie is basically packaged in a standard bluray case with normal cover art. What it lacks in bling it makes up for in overall value. (Great price)

I had doubts about this movie after Origins being so awful, but The Wolverine is a much better written film and continues the story of a character we all love instead of wasting time on an unnecessary origins story (which we already knew most of). This time it is set in Japan, which gives a different type of scenery than other X-Men films, not to mention the tone of the movie feels fresh. There are new mutants here, too. The story is decent, but the action is GREAT.

I bought this movie mostly for the 3d and was not disappointed with that aspect of the film. I typically don't watch marvel based films or super hero/villain movies so I did not understand some of the references, but this works great as a stand alone movie with an interesting plot and plenty of action sequences to keep the viewer engaged. Definitely recommended, might have to take a 2nd look at this genre since this example proved quite entertaining.

I never read the comic Arc this was based upon, but still found this movie much better than the previous stand-alone movie about Wolverine. Besides Logan, almost everyone is Japanese and so much Japanese is spoken its perfect for the comic and the manga lovers. With enough to satisfy the wolverine fan, and the anime/manga fan in us. Only thing that does not make sense in light of Days of Future Past is where did the female warrior go? I thought she was tagging along with Wolverine. And does it mean Logan never met Mariko, and still trying to go after Jean Grey?

I was so surprised by this motion picture by the superb characters. The storyline is fascinating, fast paced overall with great acting and direction. The picture including effects are stunning quality. The surround sound effects leave you trying to catch your breath. I love the misdirection and the confusion it creates. As Marvel Motion Pictures go, this one is substantially better than any X Men or films from the 'Origins' series. If you enjoy Marvel Motion Pictures including outstanding top notch Marvel Comic Book characters, this is a must see film.

I thought this was a great personal story for Logan/Wolverine. It has great action and fight choreography. It stuck relatively close to the 1980's Wolverine mini-series from Marvel comics and Frank Miller. It's in my top 15 favorite super-hero movies list. Much better than X-Men Origins: Wolverine which is not that good of a movie. Hugh Jackman delivers as always with this movie leading into the Logan the movie years later.

This had the best story for Wolverine, and didn't work to screw up the X-Men characters like the others have. While kind of based on an older Marvel story, it's off the path enough to allow "artistic license" and not screw up the great comics that made these characters and story worthwhile to make into a franchise. Most of the others, while bringing the characters to life, disappoint by screwing up storyline sorry characters, and don't make the films as good as could be. How come Harry P deserves so much "as the book", and these don't????

Hugh Jackman returns as "The Wolverine" and heads to Japan to battle evil in this comic book adaptation. It is a big budget action movie that doesn't take itself to seriously at some points. This movie is highly entertaining and is good because it has high replay value. This movie also comes with a HD Digital Copy that can be redeemed and streamed through various online apps.

I really liked this iteration of the Wolverine. Hugh Jackman gets better in this movie. I commented on the actors. After watching the behind the scenes, I like the actors, but meant it goes to the Asian timelines often. The last movie he wasn't there. I think Venom was viscous. I like female villians. Not to much outside character overload here. Basic character driven and good character support story telling. This was a nice setup for the next generation reboot Xmen series. Can't wait!
