You just can't go wrong with a Jill Scott album. Woman is no exception. Jill does take some chances on a few things that are best left to Fantasia, Ledisi, or Avery Sunshine (i.e., "You Don't Know") but when she's in her groove, she's really in it (i.e., "Fools Gold" "Closure" and the last 2 tracks). More important her lyricism is full bodied, grown and gets at the range of love, life and relationships as a grown person, woman or man. "Lighthouse" goes in towards the end; a real musicians' musician moment.

As per usual, Jilly from Philly comes through with another solid album. While many R&B stars dabble (or just plain crossover) to pop and dance sounds of today, Jill is completely comfortable (and best) rooted R&B, Soul, Blues, Jazz and even Gospel we've come to love and expect from her over the years. The best part is, it still never feels (or sounds) like she's doing the same thing twice. Def check this album out!

This Jill Scott cd musically was a bit different for me when I first started listening to it but her vocal skill is undeniably top notch and "on point" as always. I quikly found myself singing along and have listened to this cd almost every day since I purchased it! If you enjoy Jill...I do not doubt you will enjoy it too!

Jill Scott undoubtedly does it again with this album. I'm a big fan of her music. Her old music still has zing. With this CD, she expands her creative energies and leaves the fans wanting more! Up tempo songs bring it on this album all with her signature TRUTH story telling posture. This is a 5 Star CD!!

It's hard to listen without comparing Woman to Jill's other body of work, but this one truly stands alone. The honesty and realness in her songs will give you food for thought. Love, breakups, the joys of being a mother-She's got it all cleverly covered. Her work gets better and more precise over time.

Jill from Philly killed this! I need to see her in concert soon. Not very many albums that you can play from beginning to end, but this is one! She knew I needed this album before I bought it because the album sounds like my life at this point in time.

Jill Scott exhibits the best of her talents on this CD, from beginning to end. She entertains your mind, soul and lays down a melodic sound you wil play again and again. This one is one of my favs, since I have all of her work. Enjoy!

Jill has done it again! I wish I was able to give certain tracks to listen to but each one provides something new, something different, and most importantly something wonderful! No matter this price, this album is worth purchasing.

Here is another artist going back to their R&B roots. The songs fit well with Scott, while showing her growth as an artist. And listen to Janet Jackson new song "No Sleeep", Jackson needs to sit down, listen, and take notes.

Jill Scott NAILED it on so many levels! I wanted to send some songs to exes, but I just sung along with Jill. A lot of catchy songs. If you've ever been in love, you can relate. Would make a great gift for someone as well.

Now this album here is the hottest album out right now bar none....I don't need to say anything more....several cuts are for your listening pleasure if you want to access through YouTube....I will leave it right there.

I enjoyed this entire CD!! Witty lyrics, classic Jill Scott, with an old school vibe on some of the tracks. I have purchased CDs where I only liked two or three songs, but I can NOT say that about Woman. Love this CD.

Simply amazing! From the start of the album, Jill takes you on a journey. Each song is laced with truth and passion. How could anyone expect anything less from Jill Scott? This is a must in the music collection.

Her growth as an artist is explosive since 'Light of the Sun' album on this one. I have no favorite song on this album, just know this: 'BUY Jill Scott! Any album, Anytime, play Anyplace...'

Worth waiting years for a new Jill Scott CD! She puts lots of love and life lessons in this one! She is preaching the TRUTH!!! Loved it from beginning to end. She is SANGING from her soul!!!

Jill Scott is not one to let you down. This album is no exception. It took me a couple of listens to fully appreciate the album but I would definitely recommend to Jill Scott fans and others

Jill experiments a little more on this album. It's got an almost earthy anchor that pays homage to African folkloric sounds. It's a brave but pleasant departure from her pure R&B sound.

She did it again...reinvention without pretense. An ability to tap into her authentic talents while pursuing a slightly different sound. The voice though, remains as timeless as ever.
