Special anniversary edition contains performances not seen in original movie.So nice!!

I super enjoyed this Woodstock DVD which brought back my memories of that time era of the past. It's a documentary about the beginnings of Woodstock, the more than expected crowds of people, the effect it had on the residents of the area as well as the bands that preformed there.

We bought this amazing blu-ray film even though we had previously purchased the original movie. This version is the director's cut and has more footage from the festival with over 3 hours of additional music of never before released legendary performances and stories of the 60's & Woodstock. A must have for anyone that lived through that experience or wished they had been a part of music history!

It’s the best Woodstock music video that I have ever seen. I only wish that they would have put the performers name on this video just before or during their performance, just in case you forgot who it was that was singing. Love it and will view it often.

I grew up listening to this music. Really enjoyed it. I wish it had ALL the Woodstock songs, Jefferson Airplane played more than what is on this DVD. And other bands too. But all in all great DVD!

Reliving this concert is such a dream. This 40th anniversary BluRay release is the best so far. I can put this on and it feels like I'm right there in the fields at Woodstock back in '69.

The Sixties were a seminal time in American music history! Even if you weren’t born during that time period, you don’t want to miss this great collection of rock and roll music! You will love it!

Give this disc a Great Buy , would recommend this to anyone who remembers those days , I was to young to young but love it any how .

A classic view into the music scene of the late 60's

I suppose to received by 11/13/2017 and I'm still waiting !! What happened ??

The most memorable moments were when the famous "Give me an "F" speech was recited by the audience, Joan Baez's antiwar ballad, Jimi Hendrix's dazzling guitar performance, and many more. We were in the midst of a very unpopular and unnecessary war where young American men and some women were dying needlessly. The lyrics in some of the music made a strong political statement to all of those who listened. It was these and other artful messages that lead us out of that dark period in our history. In spite of all of the trouble caused by a massive invasion of patrons for this concert, it did have somewhat of a positve impact on promoting my favorite music for the time and it influenced some positive politcal changes. I recommend that if anyone watches this video, they should also watch the video on the 1967 Montery Pops Festival (criterion collection). This is where concerts of this type began.

i was browsing and stumbled upon this upcoming release on blu ray. a highly recommended look back at one of history's greatest moments. people all over the world came together to celebrate days of peace and music.. really a priceless experience that cant be missed, this documentary has to be the best available.. you will see exactly what went on day and night.. including many interviews with concert goers. argueably the best part of this will be hendrix in 1080p!!!

Great array of performances. Well worth the money. Captures a lot of behind the scenes action and bringing back some of the best performances on stage.

I really wanted to have a copy of this movie on blu-ray, and was disappointed that the only version available was this boxed set. While the buckskin case is ... interesting, I really just wanted the movie, not all the 'extras', which I find to be useless. Thankfully one of my children gave this to me for Christmas, so now I can enjoy Woodstock again!

Anyone who hasn't seen woodstock obviously should as the film is wonderful. Great Musical Performances that never get old!
