I thought that when used, it was 4.5" wide. You have to fold it and secure it by Velcro and when doing so, it is only 2.25" wide. Item description is somewhat confusing.

trying to work with this product was cumbersome and ineffective. I ended up buying another cable management conduit and this one sits in a box. I would not recommend it. It was a mistake to buy this product for my needs.
