I could not believe there was this much color footage still unreleased from WWII for such a value. We're talking over 8 hours of footage on 3 DVDs. Don't bother with the junky Bwooway version--this footage isn't "true" HD anyway, it's just at a higher resolution because it's on DVD. It's still grainy WWII (albeit color) footage at 30 seconds or less with each clip, all cut together and edited beautifully. Cameras in those days could only film for a limited amount of time but when edited together it is absolutely amazing. They do focus a little too much on the whole 'to the victors go the spoils' aspect of warfare and the colored story is a little ridiculous given the proportion of those stories to everyone else but overall I highly recommend this DVD package. I only wish there was more Pacific Theatre footage but due to the intensity and technical limitations of filming in those battles, it is understandable. Thankfully, we have the upcoming Pacific series for all of that. Jawohl!

It is hard these days to find this kind of material based on World War II. This is truly World War II that you've never seen before.
