I’ve been using the PlayStation Portal for a few days now and honestly, I like it more than I expected. It feels really comfortable in the hands, pretty much like holding a DualSense, so it didn’t take any time to get used to it. The screen looks great — nice and bright, and games run smoothly as long as your Wi-Fi is good. That’s probably the biggest downside though… if your internet isn’t stable, you’ll definitely notice some lag. It’s not a standalone console, so keep that in mind. You’re basically streaming from your PS5, but for playing around the house or even in bed, it’s super convenient. Battery life is decent, nothing amazing but good enough for a few hours of gaming. Overall, I’d say it’s worth it if you already have a PS5 and a solid internet connection. Not perfect, but still a really cool device.

This is a very nice add on for my ps5 I can use it almost any where great picture quality easy play feels a lot more comfortable than the controller does fair price highly recommend I'm going to get the black one next

The PS five portal is overall a really nice Runu version of the PSP. You can play the game anywhere as long as you have Wi-Fi or a hotspot connection. It’s good for kids comes with a lot of games as long as you have the PlayStation subscription and it also comes with remote plate if you have the PlayStation five console. I recommend this as a 10 out of 10 present for a teenage boy or young boy or a girl birthday gift, Christmas gift, etc.. the screen on it is overall bigger than i expected and very smooth. It holds a good battery. The screen is clear and touchscreen as well. The accessories available for this product are very easy to buy and search for.

I’ve owned the PlayStation Portal for about two years now, and I’m honestly surprised by how much more valuable it has become since launch. While most tech feels dated after a couple of years, this has actually improved because Sony has consistently supported it, especially with the added features to the cloud gaming service. The Display & Build The screen is easily the standout feature. Even after heavy use, it remains vibrant (colors are punchy and bright), sharp (image quality is crisp with no noticeable smearing) and responsive (latency is minimal, making for a very fluid experience). Despite the size, the unit feels remarkably light and well-balanced in the hand. It doesn't cause the hand fatigue that some other handhelds do during long sessions. In terms of the controls - if you like the DualSense, you’ll love this. It feels exactly like a standard PS5 controller. The haptic feedback is just as immersive as the console version. The LED lighting gives it that premium PlayStation look. There are some minor drawbacks. No Bluetooth Audio - having to use wired headphones or PlayStation Link-compatible gear is a bit of a hurdle. Also lack of a physical touchpad means you have to use the screen for touchpad inputs, which isn't always ideal. Final Verdict: Overall, this is a fantastic portable gaming device. Whether you're using it away from home or just want to play on the couch while the TV is occupied, it’s perfect as long as you have a decent wireless connection. It’s a rare piece of hardware that has actually gotten better with age.

The Portal does what it's meant to do, excellent to clear backlog games when you just want to relax on the couch or bed to play. Screen size is great and with the midnight black edition, you're fully immersed. When playing outside of your home, connection will vary depending on what wifi you're on (for the Portal). But make sure to have your ps5 console connected to the internet via ethernet cable at home. Another extremely important step you need to do, which I do not understand why Sony hasn't recommended this, is to make sure your home internet router has upnp turned on. Without this enabled, the portal would not find my ps5 over the internet. To enable this, for example, I have spectrum; so all I had to do was go into the spectrum app and enable upnp on the router. Then reboot the router and connect my portal. I did a test drive at home by connecting my portal to my mobile hotspot just to see if it would finally find my ps5. The portal for the first or two times will take a bit longer to connect after enabling upnp, but afterwards will connect faster.

This is perfect for in the go gaming. If you go to a friend's house and want to play fornite with them, it's easier to bring this instead of lugging your whole PS5. These were very hard to find in stock so I was very elated to finally get one. Out of the box the device looks and feels very sleek. It’s probably the most comfortable handheld gaming device I’ve ever held. If you like the the PS5 controller you’ll feel right at home. The screen is the perfect size and looks very vibrant. Be mindful of where you sit because it picks up alot of glare from lighting or the sun which makes it hard to see. The sound is very ample and there is a 3.5mm headphone jack. The one thing I noticed was when I first started playing a game, it seemed the there was some latency. I have very fast internet at home, but for some reason the games weren’t running as well as I thought they should. So I went online and saw that there was a tip of unplugging the hdmi cable from your PS5 when playing the PS Portal. Make sure to unplug it before you turn on the ps5 from the portal. To my surprise it worked and the Portal was running games great. The solution is kind of a nuisance, but did not ruin the experience. Overall, this is not the Playstation portable experience we’ve all been waiting for like a new PSVita, but if you own a PS5, I think this is a peripheral that while not essential, is very enjoyable, practical, and complimentary device for the system. For the price i’m very satisfied with it.

Honestly didn’t think I would like this remote portable controller, I decided to see what all the hype was about it and bought the PS Portal on Black Friday. I must say the screen is bigger than I thought and really clear when gaming. Even though it needs WiFi to work I was amazed how fluid it was and the games played well without too much lag. I recommend this product to some kids or husbands who don’t always have control of the tv and want some downtime to play their library of games. The controller feels light but sturdy and the volume is decent not great. But with some wired headphones you will be great! Overall I love using it when my wife is watching her novellas so whenever you have time even at work give it a shot you’ll have fun!

I was on the fence about this one since you can’t play without WiFi and can only play whatever disc that is in the PS5. I’m old school and I like having the physical disc as opposed to buying digital cause you cant sell a digital game like you can the disc version. I opened the box and was blown away at how beautiful and how big the screen is. The controls fit perfectly in your hands unlike the switch. The battery life is really good. The graphics are amazing and I didn’t really see any lag while playing as llong as you have a good WiFi connection. The $200 price is not that bad for what you’re getting. I definitely recommend buying a case for it. The portal controls take over your PS5. I know video games are going towards all digital in the future so my physical games are gonna be obsolete some day so now that I have the Portal it has changed my mind and Im going to start buying digital games because this thing is so awesome. With all that being said I definitely recommend getting one, you wont be disappointed!
