I’ve been using the PlayStation Portal for a while now, and overall it’s a solid device if you understand what it’s designed for. The screen is excellent — the 8-inch display is bright, sharp, and makes PS5 games look great. The built-in DualSense controls feel just like a real PS5 controller, including adaptive triggers and haptic feedback, which really helps immersion. Games like action, RPGs, and sports titles play smoothly when the connection is strong. That said, this device depends heavily on your internet connection. A stable Wi-Fi signal (or a strong mobile hotspot) is crucial. When the connection is good, gameplay feels responsive with minimal lag. When it’s not, you’ll notice input delay or drops. This isn’t a flaw of the hardware so much as the nature of cloud/remote play. Battery life is decent — typically around 4–5 hours depending on usage — and the device is lightweight and comfortable for longer sessions. I especially like being able to play my PS5 without tying up the TV or while relaxing in another room. I’ve been using the PlayStation Portal for a few days now and honestly, I like it more than I expected. It feels really comfortable in the hands, pretty much like holding a DualSense, so it didn’t take any time to get used to it. The screen looks great — nice and bright, and games run smoothly as long as your Wi-Fi is good. That’s probably the biggest downside though… if your internet isn’t stable, you’ll definitely notice some lag. It’s not a standalone console, so keep that in mind. You’re basically streaming from your PS5, but for playing around the house or even in bed, it’s super convenient. Battery life is decent, nothing amazing but good enough for a few hours of gaming. Overall, I’d say it’s worth it if you already have a PS5 and a solid internet connection. Not perfect, but still a really cool device.

Well for starters yes it's is so worth it for the price of 250 dollars you are getting the best. But I mean the best handheld console now you can play and connect it to you're PS5 but sonny recently rolled out an update were if you don't have a PS5 you can now stream games and huge titles like Cyberpunk spider man games GTA online Roblox fortnight watch dogs and so many other huge titles the graphics are insane and absolutely remarkable I have not yet to come with any problems I have not lag the buttons feel great it comes with adaptive trigger a touch screen and full 3d ambient sound it's got a super good quality built in mic and it can even be pair with the PlayStation earbuds and head set,super light weight and durable it's got a great emersive RGB lights on the side that match you're games background,and for the price of 200 dollars I officially declare this the best handheld console better than the steam deck or the Xbox

The PS Portal is an awesome handheld device for PlayStation gamers. The screen is really big and looks amazing, making games feel more immersive and enjoyable. Great portable device! I take this with me so I have something to do in hotel rooms or dont want to occupy the TV. It works great once you get everything set up. There have been some amazing software upgrades since I purchased it, too. It just keeps getting better. The graphics are great, the screen is fantastic, and it's performs. It checks all the boxes.

This is perfect for in the go gaming. If you go to a friend's house and want to play fornite with them, it's easier to bring this instead of lugging your whole PS5. It's really convenient and I don't notice any lag with decent wifi. The battery life is really good and the screen quality is great too!

As a dad with limited time and even more limited access to the TV, it’s solved exactly the problem I knew I had. It does what it promises. Stream your PS5 to a handheld screen, and over a wired Ethernet connection, it’s remarkably close to the real thing. Setup is painless, the interface is intuitive, and the experience is genuinely flawless. Late-night sessions in bed, a quick 20 minutes while the kids nap. The Portal makes these moments possible without any friction. Sony didn’t cut corners on the hardware either. The packaging feels premium, the build quality matches, and it’s comfortable in hand during longer sessions. The one real gripe is that Sony steers you toward their own overpriced wireless headphones. It’s a pretty cynical upsell on an otherwise great device. The workaround is simple though. A Bluetooth adapter like the Avantree Relay adds AirPod support and works a treat. Minor audio gripe aside, this gets five unqualified stars. It hasn’t just added convenience. The PS five portal is overall a really nice Runu version of the PSP. You can play the game anywhere as long as you have Wi-Fi or a hotspot connection. It’s good for kids comes with a lot of games as long as you have the PlayStation subscription and it also comes with remote plate if you have the PlayStation five console. I recommend this as a 10 out of 10 present for a teenage boy or young boy or a girl birthday gift, Christmas gift, etc.. the screen on it is overall bigger than i expected and very smooth. It holds a good battery. The screen is clear and touchscreen as well. The accessories available for this product are very easy to buy and search for.

I absolutely love this handheld! I really was skeptical on the gaming and connectivity. Boy was I wrong! Being all the way in Vegas and playing games with no interruption is amazing. The sleek feeling the color everything about this handheld is amazing. I love taking it on the plane or just being out somewhere still able to access my games. Also having the case is super convenient and safe! I even take it to work and play on lunch lol.

The Portal does what it's meant to do, excellent to clear backlog games when you just want to relax on the couch or bed to play. Screen size is great and with the midnight black edition, you're fully immersed. When playing outside of your home, connection will vary depending on what wifi you're on (for the Portal). But make sure to have your ps5 console connected to the internet via ethernet cable at home. Another extremely important step you need to do, which I do not understand why Sony hasn't recommended this, is to make sure your home internet router has upnp turned on. Without this enabled, the portal would not find my ps5 over the internet. To enable this, for example, I have spectrum; so all I had to do was go into the spectrum app and enable upnp on the router. Then reboot the router and connect my portal. I did a test drive at home by connecting my portal to my mobile hotspot just to see if it would finally find my ps5. The portal for the first or two times will take a bit longer to connect after enabling upnp, but afterwards will connect faster.

Quality of gaming on this has been as expected. Everything works great as long as you have a strong WiFi signal. Sometimes it takes a good minute to connect to your home PlayStation, even when you’re in the same room as it, but otherwise works great for why I bought it. When my kiddo is on the tv or if I just want to play from the bedroom.

I usually play games on my PC because im lazy to go use my console. Enter PS Portal. This is veet comfortable to hold, and the size of the screen makes it easy on the eyes. Battery life is solid (i usually play plugged in though). Now im able to play on the couch while my fiancee watches tv. With the ps5 hardwired, i noticed verrry little to no latency with the portal. Im still able to plah games like Clair Obscur and GT7 without issue. I took the portal out of state and was still able to play (had a solid wifi connection at the other place).
