Great Product, very interesting, I could see this DVDs all week.

As a long time fan, it's crazy to look back at the first season of the show and see how far they've come! Go back in time to when slide projectors were still in use, pay phones were on every street corner, cell phones were either bricks or had retractable antennas, and shoulder pads were all the rage! More importantly, see when Mulder met Scully and a quest for the ever-illusive truth was born! Scully is the consummate skeptical scientist, Mulder the paranoid genius who wants to believe, and both are weary of each other in their first encounter, but even then, there is a deep seated respect and trust that comes to life in that first encounter and builds so rapidly that by episode 3 (a personal fave) the two have already become the inseparable 'Mulder & Scully'. See the early origins of the mythology and how Mulder & Scully become a team that will take on the world -- literally -- and live to tell about it. Don't miss this!

This show is amazing and the first season is so good.

If you're reading this review you're probably trying to decide whether to invest some of your hard-earned dollars into a 9 (soon 10) season series. If you're a fan of the series, then you'll certainly want to seriously consider that - especially after viewing season 1 of "The X-Files". The series gets off to great start with this DVD and leaves fans wanting more after watching the first 24 episodes. The transfer to Blu-Ray adds depth and quality to the production values of the show. There are more than a few quality extras (not filler) such as commentary from creators Chris Carter and Frank Spotnitz, deleted scenes, special effects sequences, and voice overs on selected episodes. So, start saving now because once you watch season 1, you'll be hooked on adding the other seasons to your collection.

The X-Files was one of the best shows of all time and I have been wanting to own them for a long while so when i seen them on sale a few weeks back I bought the whole set, The down side was this is the 3rd time I have ordered from bestbuy.com and my order was damaged, some of the teeth that hold the disks was broke and missing on a few of the disks I tired to return once before when this happened to my stargate sg1 set and was given nothing but lip and hassle so I didnt even bother trying to return the two damaged seasons this time.... best buy usually has great prices on their dvd and bluray movies but I will never order off their website again, paying as much as I have for damaged stuff and getting attitude when I try and return them with the original packaging and receipt is total BS and has turned me off from buying from them except in store

If you are reading this review then you are an X Files fan. This is hands down one of the best science fiction series out there, I was sad when the series ended. I purchased all 9 seasons on DVD and very happy with the series on DVD with one complaint, the inability to watch each show consecutively. Currently, when an episode ends, I have to select the next one and click play, I don’t know what they were thinking when they created these DVD’s but they are all like this. I want to be able to click play and watch the all episodes on the DVD without being prompted click play just to watch the next episode.

I'm really impressed with the picture and sound quality of this show in hi-def. Although the show was originally shown in the 4:3 aspect ratio (which would have black bars on the sides of your screen) it was shot with an eye to the future. The film was "protected" for wide screen -- meaning that they left room at the top and bottom of the screen so that the image could be cropped for wide screen. It looks great! The framing never looks too tight, and the image quality is exceptional. And of course, the 1st season is full of great episodes. Go get it!

For a series of this age, the HD is amazing. The first episode is the only one that the quality is not that great because it was filmed differently. The rest of the episodes look stunning, almost as if it were filmed today. Sound is also great. The conversion to 16:9 does not affect the overall quality because this was filmed as if it were a feature length movie and with widescreen in mind. I would recommend this and the other seasons to any X-Files fan. It looks superior to the Netflix and Amazon streams.

If you're looking for science fiction work, with a bit of "in the news" thrown in for good measure, you've come to the right place. X-Files, season one, is a great place to start, after all, it was Mulder and Scully's start into the world of the unknown and unexplained. Mulder thinks he can explain it (the answers are out there)...if you've never saw the series before, this is a great time to start "catching up" as FOX has announced a six-episode run of NEW EPISODES of the show coming soon! In all there were nine seasons (202 shows). Chris Carter (series creator) will return as executive producer and writer, and David Duchovny (Mulder), Gillian Anderson (Scully), and Mitch Pileggi (Walter Skinner) will reprise their roles. It will premiere on January 24, 2016. This season includes the episodes, "Pilot", "Deep Throat", "Squeeze", "Conduit", "Ice", "Fallen Angel", "Eve", "Beyond The Sea", "E.B.E", "Darkness Falls", "Tooms", and "The Erlenmeyer Flask," and others. Great TV!

I have never seen this series before myself, but for the $9.99 price tag I couldn't pass it up. I have heard so many great opinions about the the writers and their attention to detail, that I hope to sit back and watch it soon. However, I did go through the discs to check the quality of the release since it is an upgrade to HD, and I have to say it looks absolutely beautiful! If you love Sci-Fi a much as me, than I highly recommend upgrading this series to blu ray!

I am a big fan of sci-fi movies and TV shows. While I never got into Dr. Who (but will give it a chance again), I never had the opportunity to watch X-Files. Best Buy had X-Files on Blu-ray on sale, and I thought it was a perfect chance to see what the fuss is all about. The first episode (the pilot), was good enough for me. It somewhat appears dated (probably due to the budget constraint), and the actors were trying to get into their characters. I had to remind myself that David Duchovny (at least his character) speaks in monotone. This is no worse than the pilot episode of Star Trek (original, next-generation, Voyager, etc.) so I will continue to watch this, and perhaps built my Blu-ray collection of the show. If you are curious about the show and if you have not seen it, the price was very reasonable, and I am happy that I bought it.

I was so excited when I saw X-Files being released on blu ray. My husband and I have been fans of the show forever. To see it in high definition for the first time is AMAZING. Anybody out there if your a fan of sci-fi and this show I highly recommend bringing the series home on blu ray so you can relive every freaky, crazy, interesting out of this world moment with Mulder and Scully in high def.

first off I have owed all 9 seasons of the x-files on dvd and have binged watched them here or there over the years , but when I found out that they were coming out on blue ray, I got re-excited ! I have binge watched the seasons as I have bought them so heres my breakdown of season1: picture quality is great, the darks are a little dark, but the aspect ratio seems better than the dvd releases. sound is about the same, but the best thing is finally after all these years I can get rid of the huge cases that the dvds came in to a more slimline blu ray case. the first seasons stories are a little odd, as they have not established the charaters yet, and mulder is an odd conspiracy freak with scully still not a believer...

First off - item arrived quickly. Packaged well. The cast, the storylines, and the chemistry plays out excellent in this show. I watched all of the series except for the last year and a half, when I wasn't able to finish. I decided that this series is a must have for me so I will be buying the series in its entirety. Being BluRay and for the price it's a no brainer. Enjoy!!!!

I remember reading years back all of the debate on whether or not X-Files original seasons would be re-created in HD. I read many posts that stated there would be no visual improvement, due to how the original series was filmed, particularly the earlier seasons. I must say I am impressed with the production value of these HD re-releases. Worth the wait!

I wasn't allowed to watch X-Files as a child b/c it was deemed too violent by my overprotective mother. Having finally started on this long journey, I now understand where all the buzz was coming from. However...b/c of how old it is, the effects DO NOT hold up well. If you can get past that, you'll have a good time.

The X-Files was one of my favorite TV shows growing up, and to see these episodes again in beautiful 1080p is a real treat. I'll get the one negative out of the way.... the font. For some reason when putting together these seasons, they could not find the original font used for the intro or within the episode. Not a big deal, but seems a bit off. The picture quality on the other hand, is really impressive. They did a fantastic job on cleaning up the image and prepping it for widescreen. The 5.1 DTS HD mix is also a great addition. If you're a fan of The X-Files, these blu-ray releases are definitely worth checking out.

Many of the characters that played a long term role in the series debuted in Season 1. It started strong considering the premise but remained a cult show for a while. Almost a quarter of a century later and the show does not feel dated or moldy at all. Great picture quality, it is a pleasure to watch on Blu-Ray.

Picked up the individual seasons on sale at Best Buy. Being an owner of the DVD version of the series, it's AMAZING the transfer to Blu Ray. Almost felt new watching the series again in the format. If you grew up loving the X-Files, pick up the Blu Ray versions of the season...definitely worth the money!
