Was looking to purchase the older packaged set of season 5,recieved the newer disc set. Item was receved undamaged and in a reasonable amount of time. Other than misleading information about the item all went as arranged.

In a world of cookie cutter entertainments, The X-Files was largely sui generis and continues to be one of the more distinctive entries in series television of the past couple of decades. Fans are already jonesin' for the reboot, but will at least have this massive new set to keep them knee high (or higher) in conspiracy theory until the new version begins airing in 2016. While some fans are understandably upset about the absence of the original aspect ratios for the first few seasons and/or the kind of weird decision to replace the show's iconic fonts, when taking this release as a whole, The X-Files: season 5 blu comes Highly recommended.

This season is tied with Season 4 as my all time fave! With powerful performances by Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny leading off the season in 'Redux I' and 'Redux II', along with such fan faves as 'Detour', 'The Post-Modern Prometheus', and 'Bad Blood' coupled with mythology episodes like 'The Red & the Black', 'Patient X', and the dramatic finale 'The End', season 5 keeps you on the edge of your seat right into the feature film 'The X-Files: Fight the Future'. A must-see!!

Season 4, 5, and 6 (plus the first movie) were, in my opinion, the golden age of the show. It was at the height of its popularity, and the creative team was really firing on all cylinders. Season 5 is notable for many great episodes, and of course is the precursor to the first film. Highly recommended. Best Buy offering this at 14.99 was a fantastic deal.

Picked up the individual seasons on sale at Best Buy. Being an owner of the DVD version of the series, it's AMAZING the transfer to Blu Ray. Almost felt new watching the series again in the format. If you grew up loving the X-Files, pick up the Blu Ray versions of the season...definitely worth the money!

Another great season with plenty of emphasis on "mythology" episodes. Scully's cancer is prominent, Mulder begins to question his belief about the existence of aliens, and the story behind the meeting of Mulder and the Lone Gunman is explained. All in all, a great series continues to get better.

Like the other X-Files seasons, the transfer and update to Blu-Ray really makes these sets worth purchasing, especially for the low price. Season 5 has some of the show's more memorable episodes and this package carries over all bonus features from the previous DVD release.

Mostly a great season with episodes that continue the invading aliens plot line but also some really memorable stand-alone episodes. There are a few that are poorly written and easily forgotten. Overall though, it's a must see. Blu-ray picture quality is excellent.

The fifth season of the X-Files was tremendous! Only the last two seasons were below par with the rest of them. Plenty of aliens, monsters, and the supernatural to go around.

This show was amazing on TV and lead the way to the shows we have now like Supernatural. I thought that being on Blu-ray the quality might degrade but it didn't. It was clear and crisp and I have enjoyed every second of the episodes and reliving the memories.

The GOAT of TV series in my opinion. Sure, like most things it tailed off in the end but that does not take away from the greatness of the first several seasons (this one included). Definite upgrade over the DVDs.

the x-files was one of my favorite shows when it was on tv and when it finished its last season I could not find them anywhere in the stores I looked at so I was very happy that it was brought back at a really good price as well.

Season 5 sees the introduction of the Lone Gunman as Mulder is worried about Scully as she battles cancer. All of this and more see Mulder wondering if all of his alien ideas are justifiable and could be explained.

So happy to finally get the X-files series on Blu-ray! This is a must have for anybody that loved the series and released just in time to re-watch the old episodes before the new series starts.

Gotta give it to Fox for this awesome remastering for this great series. They look and sound as if they were shot recently. This is superior to the Netflix or Amazon streaming versions.

Season 5 was a very strong season made even better by a great transfer to HD. If you liked the series, buy it, you won't be sorry.

The X-Files is an iconic television series which is more than worthy of blu-ray treatment. The episodes look better than ever. A bargain at the price offered. Highly recommended.

Enjoy this great series again in HD. Quality is great and extras included fill in information for the season. Learn secrets about characters and enjoy from the beginning.

Slowly adding to the X files complete series, Didn't want to buy the whole set so I'm pacing myself. Great quality! Glad to have found it at Best Buy for a great price!

What can I say about season 5 of the X-Files. This is when it started to get into the colonization mythology. Great season and a must for any fan of scifi.
