X Men movies tend to be hit or miss, but this is a hit. A mix of old/new characters/storylines.

Previous X-Men movies were building up to this, and it was worth the wait! One of the better comic book movies for sure.

Ok I am sorry if I rant but those who love the X-Men comics will understand. First thing is this should have been stretched out into at least 2 films, Apocalypse is one of the worst enemies the X-Men ever faced and he is treated as a throw away bad guy in this movie. He never feels all threating. And this trend of one and done bad guys who should be a real problem in comic films is getting old. This should have been stretched out into more then one film to make him feel threating and that the X-men are on there literal last leg before losing, they should have ended this film with the world under the control of Apocalypse and the X-men in hiding trying to regroup and being lost because to are so underpowered for a fight against him. Instead we get weak build up to a almost nothing fight against a enemy that just dies with out a real amount of peril. I did like this movie don't get me wrong but it just felt rushed and underwhelming, I know that every studio is trying what ever they can to get Avengers movie but they are just starting to screw the fans and it will come to bite them.

It seems as though when it comes to Fox and making comic movies it's always a one step forward and two steps back situation. With this movie they were trying to get a new start with some of its best characters, but it's not a solid attempt across the board. I enjoyed most of the new forms of characters introduced. I liked that they didn't make it wolverine heavy like most of the movies. However, apocalypse fell short for me. He didn't really do much other than be there and turn people against the x-men. I didn't like that they may have killed off one of my favorite characters. I was pleased with the ending and the way they made it similar to the 90s comics. Professor X and Magneto still carry this franchise. They are the best fit characters and great actors. Some of the new characters that were introduced were greatly underutilized. So it's a give and take kind of movie with both good and bad with the good possibly out weighing the bad. Still a lackluster outing for the Fox crew. I still bought it and will watch it. It's a pretty good movie but could have been even better.

Been a fan of the X-Men franchise and have enjoyed the movies and enjoyed this one too. Just wanted to see a little more of Psylocke. I liked this move because of the period of the movie. The 80’s was an amazing time of my life with the music and TV shows that were out. Of course Quicksilver was definitely one of the favorite characters of this movie. He had a scene which he was doing something to a song played a lot in the 80s by the group Eurythmics. I liked the younger characters in this movie a little bit more than I did than the First Class movie. You are introduced to Jean Gray’s younger elf played by Sophie Turner of the Game of Thrones. Love her in that as well as this movie. Really liked the mutants and the X-Men characters, and Apocalypse were interesting, but didn’t care for too much for him, or I should say that I was kind of bored by Apocalypse. I really like Jenifer Lawrence, but would have enjoyed her more as Mystique. Enjoyed Storm, Jean, Night Crawler and especially Quicksilver. Almost as entertaining as Days of Future Past.

Solidly Entertaining X-Men, Not Without Issues

The end-cap to the latest X-Men reboot, Apocalypse captures some big spectacle special effects, truly delightful action sequences, and the tear-jerking/head scratching turn of Magneto's unending luck of misfortune/anti-hero status, not to mention the forced push of Mystique as a top-shelf mutant of importance in the film franchise. Run-on sentences aside, there are solid performances throughout the film, muddled by a combination of "okay" acting and downright awkward dialogue and a storyline guided along that felt less organically cultured than a chore of an effort to connect all the dots of the overwhelmingly large cast of characters. Understanding that X-Men is, in itself, a giant interplay of multiple characters and storylines, it's tough to task anyone to accomplish without filled into a serialized television format. If you enjoyed the previous two X-Men movies, you'll enjoy Apocalypse. If you pick on details and cohesive story, you may want to avoid this and most superhero movies out there.
