I loved the AOA comic storyline, so I was very excited for this movie, after seeing the excellent job with the Days of Future Past adaption. Unfortunately, it did not live up to my expectations; they just altered and changed too much, and the story seemed to happen very quickly in a matter of hours. I enjoyed this movie, but didn't considered it a true AOA film, or meeting the standards set by DOFP. I would still recommend this film to others.

It's not the best movie but it's decent. I originally gave it four stars but I can only remember bits and pieces of it.

I think I enjoyed this movie the most because of the cast. Great leading roles and supporting roles from some of the most outstanding talent that movies have to offer. Michael Fassbender is one of the best actors of this generation and plays the role of Magneto beautifully. Oscar Issac is a great up and coming actor and plays the role of Apocalypse really well. Not the best X-Men movie in the world but still pretty amazing. Worth a watch!

Loved the movie for what it was. I'll forever and always have a bias against these movies because I want Fox to have mercy on fans and sell their movie rights back to Marvel and Disney and start the slate clean for the X-verse and do things properly. The list is far too long of what fans see that they've screwed up with to post here. But for what IT was, they did good. Visually it was beautiful, the story was done well. It was worth the buy. I think we fans just treat it like a non-fan movie in some aspects... just to keep from clawing our hair out...

I watched this movie right after seeing X-Men: Days of Future Past and was not ever-whelmed. With that said I was not overly disappointed. I would have liked to have seen more development of some of the characters which happened in the previous movie. I had no problem following along with the story which is always a plus in my book.

As a huge fan of the X-men franchise I could not wait to see this film. Though it was great with action and stunning visuals, the story seems to be getting more and more complicated within the Marvel Universe. You might find yourself trying to figure out where everything fits in from the past films and where it's possibly going. I like to think and be challenged, but I like to enjoy what's going on within the current movie as well.

Although the beginning was a little long and perhaps stretched out, the movie overall introduces a lot of great characters. Although, yet again, things are completely out of sync (Ex: Angel) when compared to the original movies when the X-men are older, it's quickly overlooked. The ending is especially great. Filled with great effects, surprises, and unexpected fight sequences, it's sure to please most if not all fans of the X-men.

I love the newer X-Men series (First Class and Days of Future Past), and, like those, this one has some great moments in it. But the overall story arc has become a bit too typical for superhero movies - the uber-powerful bad guy gets over-powered in the big finale. Still - great introductions to some of the X-Men we've known, but haven't made an appearance in this series, plus super-awesome Silver Streak scene. Two thumbs up!

    Superhero Burnout...?

I missed this film in theaters but picked up a copy on Blu-ray when it was on sale at a very sharp price. On our Sony 65" 4K monitor this film looked great and the sound was excellent -- so no complaints about the technical aspects of the disc. These are solid. However... The film itself was a bit of a disappointment and I will readily admit that this may be due to 'Super Hero Burnout" more than any intrinsic problem with the film itself. I actually thought the cast very good and have enjoyed these actors in any number of other films, but here, the story did not engage me and it was downhill from there. The film does boast strong production values but the story simply did not work for me. IF you are a fan of the X-men or enjoyed this film in the theatre then this disc is a good purchase for you. On a good HD monitor it will look great. On there other hand, if you are only marginally interested then wait until this disc goes on sale. For $10 you are spending the same as you would for a matinee ticket to the cinema and in that case you will not think yourself ill used if the film is a disappointment. I will recommend this - with the caveat that this is a film for fans more than the casual viewer.

    Good Addition to the franchise

X-Men Apocalypse is a solid, fun movie, although it doesn't reach the same level as Days of Future Past. Highly entertaining, although the movie seems a little overstuffed. There seemed to be too many side stories going on and lacks some focus. Still, very entertaining and the scene with Quicksilver in this movie is as good, if not better (my opinion), than the Quicksilver kitchen scene in DoFP. Definitely worth watching.

It's a good movie with great potential. Sadly the characters aren't done justice, especially Apocalypse. An actor like Oscar Isaac can do so much more with a character like that than he was able to do. However, all this is to say the movie isn't bad at all. I would still recommend it to superhero fans and highly recommend it to anyone who is a fan of this franchise like me.

I don't understand why critics are disliking this film. I think it is a fine addition to the X-Men universe. Although this may not be Bryan Singer's strongest film, I think it's a good film nevertheless that offers exciting action, strong performances from Michael Fassbender as Magneto and James McAvoy as Charles, and a solid script. My only complaint is that Apocalypse as the villain is a little generic.

I noticed that lately some superhero movies that have come out tend to have a sloppy synchronization of each character's life story and background. I think this movie is one of the few that showcases enough information about each character so that you understand who they are and what role they play in the series without confusing the audience and still be able to organize the plot in such a smooth way.

I have been pretty happy with this X-men reboot series which started with X-Men: First Class. While not as good as the X-Men: Days of Future Past, it was still a really good movie which re-introduces us to Cyclops, Jean Gray and Nightcrawler. It was really cool to see Mystique play the good guy for a change too. If you have been enjoying the latest X-Men movie series, I would continue with this movie.

    A Slightly Inferior X-Men Film

The first two "prequels" in the X-Men series of films were great. Apocalypse, though it tried to raise the stakes, failed somewhat and felt smaller in scope than the previous films. Its unfortunate, but if you're a fan of these movies, you have to see the continuation of these characters and you get to meet younger iterations of some familiar characters from the first trilogy of X-Men movies.

Overall, a decent film for the X-Men universe. I was a little confused why the bad guy wakes up and immediately decides to destroy the world - but I also didn't want an extra hour of political drama. Would really like to see X-men movies centric to some of the characters we don't know as well - ala Deadpool. Overall, this one is a good team-up movie. Watch for some of the deal with Black Friday.

Decent installment, but not by any means the best yet for this franchise. Lots of action and nearly every major acting name is getting on the X-men bandwagon, but plot and story are suffering in the melee. The uninitiated will find this one hard to follow - not a good place to jump into the series. Still for casual fans, it's satisfying, but true believers will find it sorely lacking.

I've always been a fan of the X-Men movies and X-Men: Apocalypse is no exception. Not a wonderful, ground breaking movie. But a fun comic movie that DOES take itself a hair too serious but still enjoyed it enough. Felt like the mid movie cameo was a bit forced but I did enjoy it. Only pick it up if your a fan of the previous movies, if you never saw them, then this movie isn't for you.

Big fan of the series, had not seen this before I bought it. Got it during a Black Friday deal, so the cost was a no-brainer. Took a little longer to ship than I had hoped, but was in no real rush to get it. The movie was fun and entertaining, but definitely not my favorite of the series. Looked great on my home theater and the digital copy allows me to watch it whenever and wherever.
