I feel the critics may have been pretty harsh when it comes to this movie. I went into this movie with low expectations and an open mind. I don’t know very much about x-men lore, but like the other movies in this saga, I was happily entertained. The story was ok and the acting was for the most part pretty good. I could understand why super fans would be upset with this movie, but your average watchers should walk away feeling entertained in my opinion. It wasn’t terrible, it wasn’t great, it was right in between, and that’s ok.

    Best Dark Phoenix Movie Yet

While this was a fairly good example of the Dark Phoenix story, it does have flaws that cannot be ignored. Aliens are, suddenly and without explanation, added to the x-men universe and the movie really relies on the overdone issue of Professor X making bad decisions in the past that come back to haunt him. Despite these things, the movie was a lot better than most of the reviews give it credit for. If you have enjoyed the x-men movies until now, don't miss the ending. It is far from perfect, but it is still rather fun.

As a stand-alone movie, this one is great! However, I see why so many people bashed it when it first came out: It completely destroys any continuity established by the earlier X-men films. Most of this one takes place in 1992. If the first X-men movie was set in the time it was released (2000), then Dark Phoenix messes up a lot that was established in it and in the next two that followed. Anyway, as I said- great as a stand-alone film, just not good as part of the series.

I enjoyed the movie. Not my favorite X-Men film, but I enjoyed it and adding it to my collection was an easy choice to make. 4k audio and video are very good. Steelbook design is just ok. The artwork on the front looks blurry. Unfortunately, this was also yet another steelbook that was damaged during shipping and I had to exchange it at my local BB store. The exchange process is a breeze, but I'm finding myself exchanging damaged steelbooks a little too frequently.

If you're a dyed in the wool fan of the X-Men comics you'll find this adaptation of the Phoenix story a bit different than you remember but it's closer than the previous version to the classic storyline. That being said it's a pretty good movie, good action sequences, the storyline flows at a quick pace. Let's face though, it we're all waiting for the next reboot now that most of Marvel is "under one roof" over at Disney. A fitting close to 20th Century Fox's run.

There was a lot of discontent about this movie even before it was put out. A lot of the issues were delays, reshoots, and Disney purchasing Fox. Rumor had it that Phoenix looked too much like Capt Marvel and was coming out too similar in timing so this film was delayed to a point where people just wanted it and to move on. Sad because it was a good franchise (sure it had its ups and downs) but everyone was wanting it over so they can have Marvel work them into the MCU. That said, I enjoyed it. It was a good run and though I am looking forward to the next interpretation of X-Men this was a good bookend to the series. I will say this, the steelbook looks great. Not issuing a 3D version was disappointing but at least this case looks WAY better than the standard box art. That was a definite selling point. Thank you Best Buy for having it.

Let’s face it super hero movies can’t compare to what Endgame was. It set the bar beyond! This movie is obviously not Endgame but it is the end of Fox and their X-Men franchise. The visuals are good and the cast was great. The score by Hans Zimmer is amazing. That’s really all I can say about this movie. Always watch a movie based on you wanting to see it and not because Rotten Tomatoes or anyone else saying oh it not good.

I liked this movie and recommend it for all who like a super hero movie that takes itself seriously. No silly jokes in this movie, which seem to be the trend, nowadays. More psychological character discoveries in this movie than any of the other X-Men flix, or any other super hero movies, except perhaps the Dark Knight Batman movies. Also, good acting, action scenes that make sense, cinematography and CGI was also good.

This movie is nowhere near as bad as the critics keep saying. I will say that girl-power thing came much more naturally in Captain Marvel and felt much more forced in this film. They just tried too hard and it came off more "in your face" than it did in Captain Marvel. That said, it was a much better telling of the Dark Phoenix saga than X-Men: Last Stand and was really a pretty good movie overall too.

This movie is NOT a masterpiece nor is it the best X-Men movie but it had an interesting and simple written plot and great CGI effects. Dark Phoenix is about exploring the past of an X-Men character (Jean Grey) and could be the beginning of a new Era. If all you want is a decent fantasy experience where you can momentarily get away from it all, then Dark Phoenix is a good recommendation.

"X-Men Dark Phoenix" is better than advertised. It is also a good Blu Ray with eight minutes of deleted scenes and eight featurettes with combine length of eighty minutes. There is an audio commentary from Simon Kinberg and Hutch Parker. There is an unnecessary 2 minute video from Nicholas Hoult about flying the jet. There is a digital code included from Movie Anywhere App.

Eventhough the X-Men movies from Fox Studios haven't always been great or even consistent, I felt that it was worth it to buy the last release from them. As usual, the steelbook itself is gorgeous with amazing artwork, the movie itself is actually pretty decent just wish that they would have gone all in on the "cosmic" presentation rather than the grounded version yet again.

I enjoyed this movie a lot. I don't understand why the critics tore it apart so much. Granted, it is not a perfect movie and do not expect it to be like an MCU movie. But it was a lot better than X3 was. It's not the epic, great sendoff to Fox's X-Men movie franchise that I was hoping but its worth a view, especially if you've stuck with the X-Men movies this long.

Dark Phoenix continues the "young" X-Men storyline by focusing on Jean's transformation into the titular character. While this story was covered before (in X3), this version comes off better than the prior edition but still leaves a thin story. At the end, you'll feel OK that these X-Men are taking a bow to give way for their later re-entry into the MCU.

Being an X-Men movie we had to get it. Was very entertaining but hard to keep track of all of the different timelines and when the timeline changed in movies related to other movies. But that is a general X-Men movie issues with the time traveling elements. Would recommend as an entertaining movie with good effects. Watched as the first movie on our new 4K tv.

I went into this movie believing it would be a train wreck. But it turned out to be a decent telling of the Dark Phoenix story. Granted it isn't as involved as the story from the comics, but I can say without a doubt that it is a million times better than X-Men The last stand. The audio and video both look and sound great. The steel book has very nice art.

This was a fun movie, but less action than usual. The special effects were really good which is the norm which is good, and the story line was interesting to say the least, but I don't like that the characters keep getting killed off. The ending leaves things hanging for a sequel which I would like to see. Overall, a good movie to add to the collection.

I loved the action and it was visually stunning! For me, the inaccuracies within the X-Men movie series timeline was too much for me to ignore and why I gave it just 4 stars. I'd recommend this movie to a friend with the caution of watch it for the entertainment value. I won't list specific inaccuracies so I don't spoil it for others that may not be aware.

As many reviewers mentioned, this movie destroyed many X-men relationships in characters, stories and plots. Processor-X turned into totally different character, and Mystic is gone in the first part. However overall it could be considered as so-so OK movie if you do not consider any previous X-men circumstance. Just enjoy what you can see the screen.

I think I’m one of the those rare individuals that actually liked this film. I’ll admit, it has flaws, but I enjoyed the score, visual effects, and characters, in general I was entertained. Got it on Black Friday so I didn’t mind the price, but for its quality of 4K Blu-ray Discs, it looks great. Came with digital copy too, so for $12 it was alright.
