So, this is going to be a very entailed review. There was an issue which necessitated the acquisition of a display cabinet. Picture this. Two cubed tower, particle board and cheap plastic side tables with a serving tray bridging the two sitting against a wall. On the left side l, my PS5 and on the right side, my game locker. The serving tray held my “Art of Assassin’s Creed” books. Anyone who has purchased these books know how hefty they are. Oh! My display statue also rested on this “tray”. Needless to say I was wracked with anxiety that the whole setup would fall at any moment. After having measured the area I scoured the internet for something more sturdy, so that I could spend my time worrying about more important issues.
After many moons of searching (around 20 minutes), I found the perfect item that fit the measurements perfectly. Enter; the XRocker. Oh my! I read reviews and determined that this is just what was needed. What made it better was that Best Buy carried this product. The price was a little more than what was offered on Amazon, but I love Best Buy and I had some Best Buy credits to put toward the total price. It took a little while to get here, but due to the weather some delay was expected.
When the cabinet arrived by courier I was beyond happy. This product requires an assembly of the entire cabinet. For this, one will need a standard Philips head screwdriver, do not use a power tool with a bit for this as it would not be ideal to strip any of the screws. You’ll need to hand torque in order to “feel” when the screws are tight enough. I out this together by myself but it would be a better option for two people. One person to hold tge boards in place and the other to screw them together. It isn’t necessary but I purchased some wood glue, just for that extra support. This was probably just for my comfort but still. The only problem I encountered was that on one of the boards the screw holes didn’t line up and I had to pre drill a screw hole. It was so close to the other that it kinda ended up whopper jawed (why two people would be ideal). It took me about two hours with a few little breaks to get this bad boy put together. There should be a couple screws, lock nuts, and a peg or two left over. This cabinet/shelf also comes with two wall straps for greater stability, but I didn’t feel I needed them. All, in all, I am satisfied with this product. I absolutely would recommend this. However, just know that due to manufacturing issues you may need to drill a new screw hole. Having a second set of hands or at least a vise would just about be a necessity for this. It was packed with a good amount of styrofoam which really protected the pieces during shipping. The shelf is adjustable and there is a precut section in the back for cables. The lighting is wonderful and you have the option to showcase individual colors or a create a phasing effect that cycles through all of the available colors. I feel as though I paid mostly for the brand name, but I’m still satisfied and have found that there are brand names for a reason.
I would recommend this to a friend
