    Noisy, RROD-Prone, Price Update Needed.

I bought this Refurbished Xbox 360 60 GB Pro model in November 2009. All hardware and accessories I received were functional (HDMI cable included). The fan is VERY loud compared to non-refurbished 360s. No problems with disc tray or any of that. Encountered my first Red Ring of Death only two months after buying. Refurbishing company includes 90-day warranty that'll get a RROD fixed in three weeks or less. Plus, warranty renews with every repair (I've had to have it repaired twice). I'm convinced it's RROD immune after my second repair (9 months ago) as I've had no problems with it since. $199 was a GREAT price at the time, but today is a rip-off considering the refurbished elite AND brand new 4GB console are available for the same price, and brand new 250GB console is only $50 more. The one thing that perhaps increases the value of this is the fact that it comes with HDMI and component cables for all of your HD needs, while the new consoles today only come with composite. A year ago I would tell you to buy this. Today, however, just invest in the newer one. You'll probably have to buy a separate (pricey) HD cable, but the quietness of the newer 360s is pretty much invaluable.

i bought one of these about a year ago and when i fisrt bought it, it worked just like a new one. the problem is that the controller that came with the system was terrible, it was falling apart, some buttons didnt work, etc. i bought a new controller to get rid of that problem and then about a month and a half later whenever i put a game in the tray it takes a very long time to read the disk and always says open tray after the disk is finally done being read and its very annoying!!!! also i create my live profile and since it press allow games downloads of all ratings from game marketplace to download demos of all ratings and when i tried downloading a games that is rated M is says i dont have permissions to do that, but yet i told the xbox to allow me to download all game ratings!!! its very very annoying.... some of my favorite M game demos i cant download! terrible! the xbox is very noisy and takes forever to start up!!! never buy refurbished things....they are Garbage

    a little banged up

I was looking for a decently price xbox 360 and I came across this console. It looked like a helluva deal and ordered it right away. When I finally received my console I had discovered that a memory unit slot cover was broken. The hinge on that cover/door does not close. So it just stays open, exposed. I was gonna contact BestBuy and tell them my problem about my console but I didn't think it was worth making a fuss about. On another note, the console itself works great and I have not had any functionality problems so far but it is kinda loud.

    Not Microsoft Refurbished

After seeing so many refurbished Xbox 360's in the Best Buy stores, I thought that the one I ordered would too be Microsoft refurbished. I was refurbished by a third party no name company and the accessories were third party plastic wrapped. Also, the console and the controller were dirty looking, the a/v cable was composite, not component as described, and the accessory cables were no ever Microsoft. Also, my biggest gripe was that the power cord, running from the power brick to a wall outlet, was not even the correct power cord. Like other reviews, this is big issue. You do not want to run electronic systems on the incorrect power cords. This is the easiest way to short out or kill a system. If a system is stated at refurbished on the Best Buy site, it should either be Best Buy refurbished, which is not currently a hardware service, or it should be Microsoft refurbished. The system would've been great, but I didn't even open the entire package before I returned it to a store. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!

    This XBOX is GARBAGE

do not buy a refurbished console. enoughsaid. first off i received my console and within 30 minutes of playing the thing was running real hot. next i had to borrow a power cord from my brother to even try the thing because the one that i got did not work at all. and now i have to send it all the way back to the ware house just to get a new powercord? it just doesnt seem right to me when i have a best buy store here right in town. third there is only a 30 day money back plan. that just isnt long ebough being since i know the thing is going to get the red ring at some time. all the parts just seem more cheap than they are on other xboxs. so my suggestion would be to buy a new xbox . you get a warenty and better parts.

I love this game console... I have always been a little late to the game as far as the newest game technology, but it allows me to experience great gameplay and games without the high initial investment. So I am extremely satisfied so far, and the collection is growing.

Bought A Cheap One To Use System Link

I have this xbox and bought a second cheap one so that we could use the system link. All you need is a ethernet cable to hook two xboxes together. Make sure the games you want to play are compatible with system link, and you need two copies of the games to make it work.
