Best bang for your buck! Graphics, performance, & portability for 299? This thing is a steal! I wanted something to compliment my gaming PC for when I wanted to switch it up or when I was on the go and the series S is in a league of its own.

For the money you can't beat this kind of power! I already have a PS5 so I didn't want to go top tier with the Xbox as well. I mostly play halo on this but if you can only afford on gaming system and a lower cost this one will do! Very small compared to the PS5 and Xbox series X. Only thing that is holding this back is maybe the storage size and how hot it gets.

I’ll start by saying that up until purchasing this console, I’ve owned everything but an Xbox. There’s been N64, GameBoy Advance, GameCube, PS2, Wii, PS2, PS3, and PS4. Never an Xbox. For the longest time having grown up on the influence of console wars, I’ve always ignorantly thought PS was the better console and Xbox has nothing to offer. I’ve played the 360 a few times and had no experience with the XB1. Coming from the PS4 it’s the smoothest and most satisfying console I’ve played. Transitions between games are seamless including the Quick Resume feature which essentially allows you to have multiple games open just by switching between them. The selection is always mocked because of PS’ well known exclusives, although Xbox has great ones of their own. Some including Gears of War, Halo, Forza, Sea of Thieves, and now their exclusivity deal with Bethesda to launch their future titles on Microsoft platforms. Aside from the games, as I previously stated the transitions are seamless thanks to the SSD (be prepared to buy storage expansion). The UI is extremely convenient once you get used to it, Game Pass is great value for what you’re paying, the performance can hang with the Series X (especially if you don’t have an HDR/4K capable TV), the recording/streaming quality is an upgrade along with the speed that it saves your clips at being very quick (again coming from a PS4). All in all, I’ve only owned this console for one day and I can see myself using it for a thousand more. Highly recommend if you’re looking to try out an Xbox or if you’re looking to upgrade from a One/One S, it could also just serve as portable gaming for anyone who travels frequently.

I really wanted to get the X series i tried so hard and this one was available so i grabbed it with no expectations. This little thing is powerful looks sweet and plays amazing. I have a 1440 monitor so this ended up being a great purchase. Only bad thing is how hard these new systems are to get and only being digital you can't buy games at the store anymore. Gamepass is amazing also and perfect for this machine

This is by far a great choice for 4k content streaming and 4k upscaled gaming. I cant hear it no matter what i throw at it which makes it the most quietest console to date especially for you late night games.
If you’re a minimalist, it leaves a really small footprint to where you cant see it and a beautiful white theme.
And if you’re on a budget but want to game I wholeheartedly recommend the Xbox Series S!

Even though, there's hype around the Series X and PS5 about the powerful internals. I enjoy having the Series S... I'm impressed of how small it is. And its more than capable of playing next generation games. As of now, I've been playing 2K21 Next Generation.
If those who don't care about 4K gaming and don't have a ton of games they play on a regular, then I most certainly recommend the Series S.

Upgraded from a Xbox one s, didn’t need or care for the Xbox series x since I game mostly on my pc but I didn’t want a upgraded Xbox for my living room so when I have friends over we can play and I’m very happy with this, storage sucks of course but the switching from one game to another is super fast!!! This Xbox is also very very quiet no loud fans and it looks sleek and slim. Haven’t tried playing on a monitor I play on a 4K tv and it looks very very amazing

I got lucky and got the Xbox Series S during a Best Buy restock this week. Curbside pickup was fast and easy. The Xbox Series S is a pretty powerful console, even though it does lack some features from the Series X. This Xbox doesn't play games in native 4k, however, it does upscale to 4k and if your TV is smaller than 45 inches you wouldn't even be able to tell the difference. The graphics look great and the system runs smoothly. The small storage capacity is a downside, but if you get an external hard drive you should be good. For the price, this is an amazing console!

I am mostly an Xbox gamer, this is my third xbox console. I absolutely love this one! My games do load a lot faster in comparison to the xbox one, and the graphics are much better! I wish it had more internal storage since Xbox X|S games can’t be played from the external storage, and they take up lots of space; but aside from that, it’s wonderful!

My Little Elden Ring machine

This thing is great! I never expected it to perform as well as it does. I sold my expensive pc and decided to downgrade as I needed some cash at the time. I still had my 1440p monitor from my pc that I kept. and it’s perfect as the series s targets 1440p resolution. For 300 you get relatively the same experience as a series x with some compromises. Admittedly I would have gone with the series x had they been in stock. However I am not disappointed with my purchase in the least. If you are waiting for the series x you may be missing out on a great deal. We will see about the performance to come in the next few years or so. Hopefully this console won’t suffer in the performance department. It’s super quiet and you can feel the heat out of the black vent. They tuned the fan to run just fast enough. The Xbox itself remains cool though. And I haven’t had any issues with thermal throttling or overheating. You just gotta keep the vents clear.
Some people think this console is for casual gamers. And it can be. I put 22 hours into Elden Ring over the last two days and this hasn’t skipped a beat. There is pop in in the textures but that’s an issue that plagues all consoles and pc when it comes to that game.
Over all I think it’s a 10/10 for the price along with gamepass. I may upgrade when the next lineup of consoles come out that are more powerful. But that would only be because I want to rather than having a real reason to be honest.

So there are a lot of great things about the Series S.
This is not really a gaming machine. It’s a gaming appliance. It’s fully digital. It’s amazingly fast on wake up and is quick all around. It has tons of apps. I don’t know how well versed in digital games you are, but this feels like a new way of gaming.
It’s actually kind of cute in its own industrial brutalist sort of way. It hides behind the tv well.
The controller is responsive. The machine came with HDMI cable so that’s a perk.
Remember, you are at the mercy of digital games. I signed up for XBox ultimate for a special 3 month deal. It lets me download 100+ games. I’m happy with that deal for now but if you like physical games get the Series X.
Last at 512gb SSD I know it is not going to be a lot of space. I think 1TB is better but again this was a great deal and since stock is low, I jumped on the 512. I’ll probably expand the memory down the line.

Awesome little console! Perfect pair with the LG Ultragear 27” monitor. Stunning graphics, super fast game start up, and for $300 it’s a steal. Not sure HOW much better the Series X is, but if your considering getting a next generation Xbox, I’d keep this console in your thoughts and give it some serious consideration. Plenty of external storage options if that’s a worry of yours. 10/10 for me!

The new Xbox Series S is a wonderful console. Very affordable and the graphics are amazing! I can defiantly see the difference between previous ones and the speed is definitely faster than previous Xbox. One thing to keep in mind is you have 500GB of storage which isn’t much. But getting the storage card defiantly can help compete with the Xbox Series X.

Absolutely blown away by the form factor and speed of this TINY little box.
I set it up and went to download my games and instantly noticed that the network for downloads was a lot more stable. The game that I play (Forza Horizon 4) looks leaps and bounds better and runs much smoother than my One S. (My One S is still ol faithful and she isn't going anywhere.)
The aesthetics are very pleasing. There's so much power in such an insanely ittt bitty small box.
The amount of user accessible memory is kind of a let down as this all digital console should have been the one to get a TB out of the box. It doesn't make much sense that they decided to make this console without a disc drive, and rib half of the memory while letting the Series X have the disc drive and the TB of storage.
Oh well. I still have my games installed (the ones I want to play anyways) so I'm very much satisfied with this amazing little powerhouse.

Best new console purchase I've ever made

Best console that I've ever purchased. I was not planning on purchasing this console when I walked into Best Buy but I had $200 left over after making a phone purchase that I initially planned on spending a $1000 on but had $200 left over and the series was on sale for 250 with a 512GB solid state drive so it was such a great deal that I ended up buying the console. I do not have a PS5 or Xbox series X, so I cannot compare it to the other 2 consoles, but as far this console goes, it is truly amazing. The only downside is that it's advertised as having 512 gigabytes of storage but with the system Software that is stored on their, you end up with only 364 gigs, so if storage is an issue, I would definitely go with a xbox series X or a playstation 5 with a terabyte of storage Because if you buy an expansion card, the cost of the memory card plus the console will total up to the cost of a xbox series X or a ps5.

I really wanted to get the Series X but after weeks of trying to get it, I just gave up. Instead I got this and after about two days of using it, I am definitely impressed with the results! You are still getting the super fast loading screens, those cool dynamic backgrounds, quick resume, which is a feature that allows you to have three games running at once without having to actually close them, which makes it super easy to switch back and forth on games you play frequently, auto-HDR, being able to use older Xbox One controllers and headsets, and so much more. If you are coming from the OG Xbox One or the Xbox One S, I'd get this until the Series X is actually in stock for good. The only downside to this system is the size of the SSD. When the OS is all installed and done, you will only have about 364 GB of space. So I'd recommend getting the 1TB expansion card which comes at $220, expensive but worth it in the long run. Overall, this is an underrated system and doesn't get the love it deserves. It's worth every penny!

Absolutely love this little beast. Outside of hard drive space; I feel with the upscaling my 4K TV is doing, the Series S is giving up very little to the Series X. What a great value! The build quality is also very good, and it's whisper quiet, even after extended periods of game time
