Customers are saying

Customers commend the Xbox Series S for its affordability, compact size, and impressive performance, especially considering its price point. Many appreciate the ease of use and fast load times, along with the benefits of Xbox Game Pass. However, some users point out limitations in storage capacity and the lack of a disc drive as significant drawbacks. The console's resolution capabilities also receive mixed feedback.

      Hello there,

We're sorry if you were sent the wrong product. If you're still within Best Buy's return period, we recommend exchanging it for a new Xbox Series S or ask for a refund if none are available.

      Hope that helps,

I'll keep this review short and quick Pros & Cons Pros- -Great for emulation -backwards compatibility for Xbox 360 and XBOX games run at 1440p -Great for media playback -Price is decent for what this does however try to get this console on sale not full price Cons- -Backwards compatibility for xbox one games do not get any benefit aside from unlocked framerate games -Backwards compatibily for xbox one games it runs the xbox one games not the one X games for some odd reason when this console is cleary powerful enough to do so -Games optimized for Series S still run terribly as of this writing -I would only recommend this console for people with 1080p monitors UNLESS ur using it for backwards comp. for 360 and before games then you get the resolution boost to keep it short save ur money for the series X dont give in to this

Been a PlayStation user since the PS1. Tried an Xbox 360 for an exclusive title years ago. It got the “red ring of death” within 2 years. Purchased this series S years later for another exclusive title, and I now k ow for sure, this will be the LAST Xbox I ever have. Controller’s are non-rechargeable, interface is clunky, connection is bad, network drops often…too many problems! Get a PlayStation instead, you’ll be much happier with the quality and reliability.

This puppy did not work correctly. I’m guessing it was the hdmi port itself but would not put sound out of the tv. We bought a new tv thinking it was just old. Nope, it was the new Xbox. Returned it and got the series X and we are cooking w gas.

I am coming from the Xbox one s. I have a ps4 pro, and a switch as well. The graphics aren’t enough of an upgrade at this price point, and coming from a previous gen console with 1 tb of storage that comes with the console, the amount of storage for this device is outrageous. Next gen? Ya, right. When most game are close to 100gb or more to download, you can only fit about 3 games on it. Not worth it. They want you to buy an additional storage card, which will add another $200 to the price tag, which is $499. Unacceptable. I will be returning this immediately. Staying with last gen until they figure out their mistakes and shortcomings. Also, the grip texture on the controller feels terrible, and it feels insanely cheap.

I bought this All Digital Console thinking that I would get the monthly game pass for $14 a month, play limitless games, and save on having to buy games only to find out I don't like them. The main problem I had with this console is the long down load times for each game (up to 24 hours depending on your internet speed) and limited storage capacity (can hold about 2 games in storage before you have to delete a game to download another. I ended up returning this console after a few days because it was frustrating having to wait for the down loads.

Dislike the Xbox ecosystem, and this "more affordable" device is all the more expensive and annoying to maintain than the full fledged Series X. It doesn't take disks, and the storage is minimal given game sizes these days. Microsoft is happy to charge you an arm and a leg to upgrade the storage, and rent you the use of "your" gaming console. They are hard to find but the series X makes more sense. I like the white color a lot though.

I know its hard to find an X but if you can, hold put for one. First, you’ll use up all the memory fast and the memory expansion card is $220. Thats reason enough right there. The other problem is, Micro knows youre dependent on then for downloads without a drive so you will never see a discount like you do with discs. Right now 2k22 is 50% off for the disc version. The download is full price. Every time i see a sale, it’s only for the disc. They know what they’re doing. In the long run you’ll pay more by buying disc free aystem. Absolutely regret it.

Buy the big one, don’t buy this. Buying this seems to limit the games you can buy on sale. Example...Hard copy games go on sale all over the place. So if you have the big Xbox you can take advantage of these deals. But with this Xbox you seem limited to only digital sales. You also seem to be paying for a device that gives you the privilege of paying a monthly fee, forever to get more use out of it then your tablet. It’s like having to buy the cable box at your home and then having to dish out cash every month to use.

I’m not to happy with the purchase to be honest. The button to connect the controllers is bipolar it works when it wants, and the controller will just randomly disconnect and then won’t want to reconnect. Which has disconnected a few times during Online matches Graphics are nice, start up is beautiful, I like the design but the controllers constantly not wanting to connect is an issue I DO NOT like and is not worth 300$ if you can’t keep your controllers connected. I have a 1yr old and a 5yr it’s hard playing with a corded controller.

      Hi there,

We're sorry there's an issue with overheating with your new Xbox Series S. We recommend making sure that it's placed in a well-ventilated spot with 2-4 inches of space around it, and make sure its vents are unobstructed. If that doesn't help, please reach out to Xbox Support: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/hardware-network/browse

Ive used xbox for almost 20 years now. And finally, im dissapointed. The series s is a piece of garbage that plays most new titles at 1440p /30fps while the xbox one x does the same at 4k. Thos console os for a very very casual gamer / young child. JUST KEEP YOUR XBOX ONE UNTILL YOU CAN GET A SERIES X. THIS THING IS JUNK

When Xbox live works the games are great. I’ve had nothing but problems with multiple servers including Xbox Live since I purchased this. You can only download 2-4 games before filling the hard drive forcing you to buy a costly external hard drive which then just makes it the same cost as the x drive. I wish I would have seen a review like this prior to purchasing. I wouldn’t have wasted my money.

Have had this for over a year now. I am going to say that it is really not worth it. Ended up getting a PS5. Xbox S is underpowered and really not future proof at all. I can notice a big difference in many games when comparing the S series to an Xbox X or PS5. Would not recommend if you are into games and want to play at smooth framerates.
