Not ideal, but not as horrible as you think

Definitely not the ideal way to play them, and frustrating how Rockstar handled the release and takedown of the old games. But on their own, they're mostly fine. Still solid games in their own right, and you won't die if you play these.

Fun title and definitely took me back to my youth but I can see where the game needs some updates. I think it is payable by definitely pick this up on a sale.

This game is NOT the Definitive Edition of any of these titles. It's bad enough a good portion of the Soundtracks to these titles is missing, but the ports themselves are atrocious.
These are ports of the IOS Versions of these games. The same IOS Versions that are widely panned and disliked by everyone who has played them. Not only that, but they got the same Developer of the IOS Ports (Grove Street Games) to work on these games.
Here's a list of all the great games Grove Street Games has made:

That's right, there's no list because they haven't made anything! Why in the world Rockstar would put a Development Team of 20 people in charge of remastering 3 of the most beloved open world titles in the world is beyond me.
But it shows in the graphical glitches, poor design choices, complete lack of attention to details, choosing AI upscaling for the majority of the games content instead of having actual people at the development team doing the upgrading & scaling.
Overall, all three games are disappoint, it's hard to enjoy the good things they offer because of how badly botched everything else is.
My hopes are that Rockstar wakes up and has a bunch of people at Rockstar working on patches & fixes for these games because if it's all done by Grove Street Games, I fear these games are dead in the water.
As a long time fan of the series and of the originals, these are games 100% disappointing. And for a full 60 dollars! Garbage.

Its the game I was looking for! You can tell its just the old games with higher textures on them. Details aren't crazy better or anything, but its still nice to relive some old memories.

Purchased this game for our son to play on Xbox Series X. Awesome to see the Xbox flagship games redone for the Xbox Series X. Graphics could have improved but still a great game! Would recommend.

I was excited to play San Andreas but little did i know that the game is full glitches. You can play right through the game without minor consequences from the characters, cars piling up against one another, and characters at times disappearing. Big dissapointment!

Great game easier to play than the original. Only thing is that you can play different versions one at a time. I thought they where accumulated into one.

I don’t know what everyone is complaining about I think this remaster collection is near perfect. Don’t expect gta 5 graphics. Just remember what this looks like on ps2 and appreciate what rockstar did here

The "Defective" edition of the game really ruins the legacy set forth by the originals. The game wouldnt even properly launch/install the first time I tried playing it. Oh and gotta love the removed songs from certain stations in VC/SA. I ended up ditching the Defective edition entirely and i stead picked up the original day 1 releases on PC. They crossed a line when they thought releasing San andreas without "Runnin' down a dream" and calling it "the definitive edition" was appropriate. Not worth $69, not worth the $30 + tax I paid. Consider dusting off the old PS2 if you really want to play these games the way the devs intended you to play them
