Customers praise the AMD Radeon R9 390 8GB graphics card for its high performance, substantial RAM, and competitive price. Many appreciate its effective cooling system and the high frame rates it delivers in games, along with the included warranty. However, some users note that the card is large and can be noisy under heavy load, while others mention power consumption and occasional driver-related issues. A few also reported experiencing coil whine.

So far, I'm definitely loving this card. Picked up to replace a broken GTX660 I've had for years. Went back and forth between team green and team red.
Pros
Very well built, love the backplate, makes handling the card so much easier.
8GB ram
Says it will support up to 6 monitors
Plays EVERYTHING I've thrown at it on Ultra, for the most part. That includes the copy of Dirt Rally.
LIFETIME WARRANTY
Cons:
Wish it only needed 2 6 pins, instead of one 6, and one 8.. Couldn't find a spare 6+2 pin, had to buy a spare modular cable. Only a very minor CON, though.

I run World of Warcraft, and lets face it the graphics is not very clean. I am able to run ultimate and my frame rate is at max ( I have it limited to 70) in the world. It does drop to about 50 in Dalaran.

This card!
I am pretty happy so far. There are some minor issues I am personally having, but I think this comes down to me needing to do a clean windows install. I do not blame some of these small issues on the card.
That out of the way:
PROS:
* Powerful - The 390 packs a punch. Scored 4008 on the 1080p FurMark stress test, so I was very impressed.
* Incredibly quiet - I honestly cannot believe how quiet this card is even under stress.
* Stays cool - Probably one of the coolest cards I've ever had.
---
CONS:
* Big - This one is obvious, but I thought I should mention it, its a huge card. Make sure you have some room.
* Some small driver issues, but as said above, these are simply related to my machine, and likely won't be an issue on your machine.
And that is about it. Enjoying it so far. Would recommend.

Bought it mainly video editing.
Vegas pro 13 and Adobe Premeire.
I can load tons of GPU accelerated fx and filters and it still does not drop frames.
IF you buy this from Best Buy you get limited lifetime warranty.

It was readily available at the Best Buy location on Rochester Road and that is the biggest reason we selected the one we purchased.

For those of you on the edge about going with a GTX970 or an R9 390, I would pick the R9. Here are some of the reasons.
1. Fast - 45 FPS stable in Witcher 3 on Ultra at 1080p
2. Quiet - fans never seem to spin up past 50%
3. Cool - even with minimal fan speed, never gets above 60C
4. Value - for the power you get, this is in a really nice sweet spot
5. Brand - XFX is a quality manufacturer of components and have really good customer service.
XFX has done an excellent job with this video card and if you are looking for a high power GPU in the $300-$350 price range, you can't really go wrong with this one. The fact that it also comes with a free game download is just icing on the cake.

I've had this card for 2 years now and has been amazing for the price. Overclocked quite high with only minor adjustments to the fan speed.

I've owned older XFX cards years past. (Old School) A long time ago I had to return one to XFX for repair. They replaced card no questions asked. They have one of the longest warranty's in the video card industry. I replaced my R9 270x with this R9 390 8G DDR5. Actually, I will re-purpose the R9 270x in the kids computer. I like the fact that you can walk right into Best Buy and pick one of these up off the shelf. Best Buy is starting to carry more and more computer parts, especially higher end video cards, power supplies, memory, disks, etc. I hope they start to carry mother boards, processors and cases. At any rate, back to the R9 390, I was easily able to setup 3 monitors in eyefinity. This was the main objective of this purchase along with the 8G DDR5 and the high performance.
