This watch is not a true "smart watch", but it does exactly what I need/want at a reasonableprice point. I needed a heart rate monitor, which this watch does well, but I was also pleasantly surprised to find several other monitors built in to this handy device. This watch was originally designed for children to safety enter the world of wearable technology, because of this I assumed it would be simple to use. Once you learn which way to swipe to get the info you want, it is fairly easy and the info is easy to see on the screen. However, the app that has to be downloaded to access all of the watch's functions is horrible, but it may be different on an iPhone. The good news is that many of the activity-related functions are usable without the app. Specifically the heart rate monitor, step counter, blood pressure, and O2 saturation rate can all be used without the app. The sleep monitor, weekly tracking, and messaging functions need the app to work. The step and calorie counters automatically reset to zero every night at midnight. One thing I have not been able to figure out is how to set the date and time. Even after I figured out how to sync the watch to the app with my phone's Bluetooth there was no way to set the date and time. I don't care if the date is accurate on my watch, but I refuse to wear a watch that doesn't tell time. Thankfully, I did discover a way around this annoying problem. I chose the "factory reset" option under settings at exactly 9:00AM. The watch has kept perfect time since and I really like that I can choose an analog face. (Please note: most of the digital options are military time/24-hour clock.) The band is very comfortable and the watch looks more expensive than it actually is...a win-win. Plus, it comes with a screen protector and a charging caddy that is USB powered. The battery will last all day with spot usage. I have noticed frequent, prolonged heart monitoring drains the battery rapidly, but the watch does charge very quickly. I cannot speak to long-term durability or use in water, but so far I am very pleased with my purchase.

The feature list seemed very promising for the price, but the iphone edition of the app is not designed or executed well, to the point it is not really usable. This device now sits in the drawer and we will try one of the more established units from a different manufacturer.
