I was actually surprised that this CD turned out so well considering Michael Jackson wasn't there to put it together. It sounds like something he would have created though. I think the producers did an excellent job of capturing his sound. If you are considering whether to buy it or not, I definitely recommend you purchase it. You won't regret it. It has some of the "Off The Wall" flavor to it, which is also what I really liked about it. The thing is that some of the original versions are actually better then the up-to-date versions. Either way it's a good purchase.

From the minute I heard about this album I was excited. Then as more details surfaced the excitement began to wane. The album only contains 8 different tracks and 6 of them can be found online and have been available online for years. The tracks were taken from Michael Jackson's vault and date from 1983 to 1999. Great selection of songs but the production is a mess. Instead of putting out something unique every song has been remixed to sound like "today". All of the melody and unique sound has been stripped out of MJ s work on favor of noisy club beats. As a Michael Jackson fan, my focus went straight to the demos. The collection of untouched demos is like a time capsule showcasing how great MJ s music was. Still the lack of material on this album tells me the powers that be are holding back better treasures. Time will tell.

Feel good music. Best song hands down is Blue Gansta

This album is much better than the last one. The last album was more about other artists getting on the album. Xscape showcases Michael's vocals, not other artists'. I love how the album has both the original recording and the new tweaked version of each song. The only negative is that Michael didn't officially approve this work. Perhaps he shelved these songs for a reason. Michael had his reasons for not including these on his albums.

These tracks are vintage Michael, no question about it. If you're a fan, then you've got to get the Deluxe Edition. It has his original demos plus modernized versions of the tracks. You even get the latest billboard top 20 hit "Love Never Felt So Good" with JT adding to the vocals. Get to your nearest Best Buy quick because mine only had two copies left on day 2 of sales. This album will hit #1 if it hasn't already done so!

Xscape is a huge step up from the last MJ CD. The music feels like classic Michael Jackson which is mostly due to the fact that the songs chosen for this CD were recorded during his prime. They put new beats to "contemporize" the music but it does not compromise the original feel. LA Reid did an amazing job and I can't wait for the next one! Great for old and new Michael Jackson fans alike!

Producers from his previous albums took unreleased songs and added some of what they knew he would like. If you know his Blood on the Dance Floor it has some redux songs, it's kinda like those songs. This also includes the original tracks after all those. Watch the dvd that comes with it, they explain why they did it. It includes information about the songs in the words of the songs.

This is one of MJ's best cds. The more you listen to it, the more you appreciate all that MJ did for the music industry. It is very well produced; this wasn't a rush job like the Michael cd. The only downside is that there are only 8 songs on it, but the deluxe gives you the original semi-finished songs plus the Justin Timberlake version of Love Never Felt So Good.

After "This Is It" I was wondering what this CD would be like. I could not believe how good it was from beginning to end. I also like the "original tracks" on the deluxe version. It gives you something to compare the re-produced version with. Of course, the single with Justin Timberlake is only on the deluxe CD as the very last track. A MUST for MJ fans!!!!
