Purchased and installed today. Installation was very easy. However, when you go through the paperwork, it will tell you to download the Yale Access app, do not waste your time. Install the August app. Do not bother looking for the QR code or serial number, I never found either of them. When you get the lock installed, and are setting up the mastercode, I would call tech support as the direction in my kit left off the last required step. Also, if your setting up the app on a second phone, if you open the app and do not see any of the controls, just tap on the picture of the house and the controls should appear. Once everything was installed and the app set up, love the product.

This lock looks great on my door. Love the hidden keypad that activates with a touch! Auto unlock when arriving works great once properly setup. Like others have said before, use the August app to setup. Once configured, ensure the August app will not sleep in your phones power management settings and that should be it. I have set a routine in my Google Assistant to ensure the door is locked before going to bed. One thing I do wish for is to have a notification if your door has been left unlocked after a certain amount of time. Doesn't seem like it would be hard to configure but it is not an option in the app.

Installation was fairly quick and easy. Lock has worked fantastically. Adding and removing codes is simple and quick. The settings system does a good job of talking you through all options. The reason I only gave 4* is that the app for the lock is incredibly fickle to set up. I still have t completed setup because it keeps telling me that it can’t find my lock or that I need to install an extra piece or two that aren’t fully necessary. Luckily, the lock works completely even without the app.

Works great. Like not having to worry about a key anymore. It also has ability to unlock when you get home. Works with Apple HomeKit, this was the main reason I purchased it. I wanted to try the Level brand smart lock, but the coupon I had didn’t work with Level brand. It’s also has an sensor to let you know if the door is opened or closed as well (this function only works through the Yale app. Easy instructions, I put it in by myself but another pair of hands would have made it easier to install.

I started using Yale Smart locks back in 2013 and have changed around 10 standard locks to something similar to this (Yale brand with a variety of options). Changing to these are pretty much the first thing I do when moving to a new place. Installation and programming is pretty easy and not having to worry about having keys is super nice. They look good, feel solid, and with a little direction, can be used by everyone. Worked very well for a property I had as an Airbnb. No complaints - other than the batteries needing to be changed a bit more frequently as the locks age, and the occasional door alignment issue that needs a little tweaking. Great product that I will continue to buy.

This is nice product. Bought it during the thanksgiving sale. The setup took some time, but after it is setup it is very simple to use it. The advantage of this lock is it has a physical key as well. In case battery issues, key can be used to get into the house. It also come with Auto Sense whether the door is completely locked or not. It is simple to setup and working great. The integration with google and Alexa is not that great, some time it fails. But overall, it is a good project, if you like home automation.

I bought this so my son can get in the house with his IPhone. This way he doesn’t have to carry a key or leave the key somewhere. He started using it and I started using it too. Well the whole family started using it. We all love it’s and I am glad I bought it. The installation is pretty easier, just uninstall the old deadbolt and replace with this new lock. Done with the physical part now you just need to install the app on your phone. MAKE SURE you scroll down to the bottom and click on the August for Yale button. I made mistake of install the August Lock, which took me sometime to realize it. Final, got it all right and now My family and I use the app everyday. We are glad I bought the lock.

I love this door lock. This is the coolest thing to complete any smart home. I love the Auto Unlock feature when I get home. The app works perfectly and lets me know who gets home by their pin. I can lock the door with my voice because I connected it to my other devices. I have a key but have used it maybe once. Only ding is it requires 4 AA batteries. I wish it would have had some rechargeable power option but not the biggest issue. I also just had a brand new door installed so the installation was done professionally, can’t really vouch for the ease of install on the hardware side.

Was easy to install. Like the looks and is easy to use. The tiny screw to secure the back panel is a bit pesty cause it is so tiny and is annoying to do and undo if you have a problem. That houses the batteries and when you have to calibrate or fix a communication error you have to open that panel. Lock and unlock mechanisms are great and connecting with your phone thru the August app is really good. Like that you dont need a hub like the nest or echo.

I purchased this lock to replace an August gen 2 lock, as it was having issues connecting to HomeKit. I have 75+ HomeKit devices on my home, and I worked for Apple in helping launch HomeKit to consumers. Pros - the lock’a design is beautiful. It’s made of a study metal, and the keypad is easy to use. In fact- if you were not connecting this lock to any smart platform or the Yale app, it’s great. - the keypad speaks to you as you program the lock- making it very easy to dictan for many users. - installation is a breeze, and includes a printed measurement guide to make sure your lock will fit before you dissemble your current lock off the door. Cons: - there are no instructions on how to connect this lock to the Yale app, August app, or HomeKit. You have to figure it out. It took me 4 hours and 3 factory resets to get the lock to connect to my phone. - HomeKit integration with Yale and August are broken, and have been broken since summer of 2020. The August team (sister company of Yale) have been helping me with my previous lock, because of these issues. I was able to connect the lock to HomeKit out of the box- but when I figured out how to connect it to the app- it installed a firmware update that broke this connection. - Yale/August customer support is helpful- after you wait on hold for 90+ minutes, are disconnected, abs are able to be firm to outline the solutions you are looking for. If I did not have a background with the platform, they would have walked me through the resets and told me to just wait for a firmware update. I think they are very busy due to this bug. For reference: I own two Schlage Sense locks that are equally easy to install, cost the same, abs have no HomeKit issues. Programming the lock is easier as well. - this lock as three pieces with their own serial numbers. The lock, the smart module, abs a wifi bridge. Part is the confusion of setting this lock up is that one does not know when to use what code at what time. I was thrilled with the look abs feel of the lock, and disappointed with its many issues. Sad to be returning this lock back. I’ve used Yale smart locks at Airbnb’s- and the touch pad codes work. Too bad programming all the smart features does not work.

Installation required a little woodworking - current lock required a little pressure on the door to throw the deadbolt. If the deadbolt does not slide easily into the door frame, this lock will not work and freezes. Not really an issue, but not an easy install either ... 4 stars. Instructions for setup were a little weak, but customer service was very helpful and quickly got me up and running ... 5 stars. Setting up codes for family members was very easy ... 5 stars.

I was very skeptical ordering this lock. My eye was on Schlage but on BF deals I ordered this one and I am glad I did. It's a fantastic HW. Looks and feels solid. Very elegant looking. I am giving 4 stars just because instructions are not clear specially for this one as it's with August module. I my self is Engineer and took about 25 min to complete the process. Working as expected and not failed single time.

This lock is amazing. It feels extremely high quality. It has a speaker to tell you information and helps you with setting it up. Can auto relock. Almost all of the settings, you are able to control via the August App, either through bluetooth or wifi. Not all settings can be changed over wifi so you may need ot be in bluetooth range. I picked this up on sale, and it's probably been one of my favorite purchases this year. I liked it so much I bought another Yale lock for my garage.

This is the perfect smart lock for my front door! It was easy to set up, install, and use. I love the keyless life I've set it up so when I come home it auto unlocks the front door for me. I also have it set up to auto lock. It's also connected to my Google Assistant so I can use voice commands to both lock and unlock at the door. I like that it comes with a key too so in case there's an issue with the electronics, I can still get in the house.
