It's been a long time since I've had a full-on stereo or home theater system. Moved into the new house and it was wired for whole-house audio, so I wanted a multi-zone receiver that would play music on the back deck and do Blu-ray/TV in the living room. Shopped around a lot, read a lot of reviews online, and landed on this unit on sale from Best Buy. The setup process was simple, if a bit lengthy, but the sound quality from it is better than I expected at this price point. I'd buy one again, and happily recommend it to friends. The ability to control the whole thing via WiFi from my phone is just awesome! Only complaint is when dealing with a music library shared via Windows Media Player, the interface is somewhat clunky and slow.

This makes music and movies sound amazing. There is a great amount of audio control as well. Setup was very easy. If there's one thing wrong, it's that you can't change the screen background while listening to music.

Yamaha has done it again. On screen display, access through my computer and an app for my phone. Power is spot on ! Ease of operation and sleek design. Add Klipsch speakers and BLAM, Awesome receiver!!

I bought this when it went to close out. Not sure which model is coming next but it has everything I could possibly need now and in the future. Just compare the specs and features to an $800 one and you'll see that this is a steal.

This home theater system has great features, lots of power, and the flexibility for outdoor speakers. I am very pleased with the YPAO system.

Somehow, this model was available for a price below that of Yamaha models with less features. I'm very glad to have found this.

Purchased on closeout as Yamaha upgrades the line, but this model was perfect for my moderate needs. Clean sound and flexible.

Tis machine has good sound but does not have the flexibility as my old Yamaha. Zone 2 is a joke. It is more flexible and has many more HDMI ports for ease of operation and hookup.

This radio has some feature that blew me away,sounds great.very user friendly.I love it. And the price was great .

Always been a fan of Yamaha AV. Easy to setup and great features. Easy to use and very versatile.

Setup and configuration were straightforward, onscreen controls are easy to navigate. Still learning all the options but what i've tried sounds very good.

Upgraded from my Yamaha rx-663. I originally made a mistake by testing out a denon receiver that was on a good sale to be horribly disappointed. I spent 3 days trying to get it tuned just to dislike all the setting. Purchased this Yamaha and it was twice as good as the denon in 10 minutes..... setting make sense, book is great. Only complaint is that the remote is ugly as can be. NO worries with a universal remote though!

bought it to replace my denon as I upgraded to a 4K tv. did not know it was not compatible with xfinity remote in bay area. still a good receiver

Tried a Yamaha first but found Sony to sound way better. Easy to use and functions well.

Great surround sound, 4k pass through, air play, Bluetooth, stereo sound, all superb.

Great receiver, came from an older 667 Yamaha. Bought this for the Bluetooth. Sucks there is no pre outs unless you spend another $200

I would have rated this 5 stars but some of the remote buttons that are used frequently are very small and inconvenient. Otherwise the unit is great. I use the 7 channel sound with my 4 speakers and have great surround sound (not to be confused with the programmed surround sound that requires I crank the volume a bit). All in all for the price a great unit and yes it has a phono input which was a big reason it stood out since many comparable units lack an input for turntable..

I am a Yamaha fan from my business. Using Yamaha products in my home has always been a good deal. This unit is no exception. This receiver has all the latest technology in it and it very easy to set up and use. Overall, I can't find one thing to complain about. It's another long line of awesome Yamaha products. Both at home and on the road.

The internal set-up was easy. The owners manual (on-line) was detailed. Tech support was extensive and with depth. It has not presented a problem since I installed it & fine-tuned the set-up to my liking. (Six 20 year old JBL speakers) and a Klipsch sub-woofer from Best Buy.
