I purchased this sound bar as a replacement for another brand I was having problems with. The sound is fantastic for such a compact unit. The Virtual X surround mode really makes watching a movie all that more enjoyable.

This is my first sound bar and I was in a budget. I was absolutely blown away by the quality of this bar for the price. Buy it and you won’t be disappointed.

Sounds great. Easy setup and install. Buy it. Yamaha sound and quality is excellent.

It is amazing how the surround sound actually sounds like a 5.1 system.

The best word I can think of to describe this sound bar by Yamaha, is “decent”. If your main goal is to somewhat amplify your television’s tinny speaker, this will help. For comparison, I own a Denon bar that we also bought from Bestbuy. Granted, it cost quite a bit more, but my expectations for this Yamaha were pretty high - because we know what a good bar sounds like. Cons: For the life of me, no matter how it is configured, when watching news or talk shows, this soundbar will engage/disengage the bass in people’s voices as it sees fit. Sounds like a strange gripe, but when people are talking, it almost sounds like it turns itself off if it doesn’t sense enough bass. What you’re left with, is not all that impressive. In other words, I believe that television is not a place where this thing shines. Pros: For amplifying music or movies, this thing and it’s sub sound great. It’s small, but powerful. Plus it’s pretty sharp looking as well. Just around the house listening to music, this sound bar is nice. Conclusion: The thing that sucks is that you’re likely considering this bar to help boost your tv. It will likely be on while you watch tv most of the time. We use it in our bedroom, so it’s not our main sound bar. For those reasons, it works. If it were my money, I would not recommend this sound bar for use on your main tv. Maybe a bedroom or gameroom, because there are probably better sound bars for the money.

Good sound for the price. Easy set up. No issues and came updated. Use of phone to control is nice too.

I purchased a Sony speaker first since I have a Sony tv I thought the connection would be simpler. Aver connecting the Sony system the sub woofer didn’t work I carry it back to Best Buy and their customer service was outstanding gave me a refund with no hassle . I did more research and settled on the Yamaha system glad I did it’s a great system for the price easy to hook up and works with my TV remote.Speaker system is a great value.

Great for the price. The app to change settings is annoying as you have to manukau connnect Bluetooth each time you want to use it but at the same time, haven’t had a need to use it often. Also every once in awhile the sub loses connectivity to the bar. Simply power cycling the sun has always fixed it.

Our front room is mostly brick, so wiring up an elaborate sound system given our modest budget was a little out of the question. We needed something with oomph and fidelity that wouldn't break our bank. This Yamaha Soundbar was the perfect fit. With the "Surround" feature turned on, we're occasionally surprised by its ventriloquist-like ability to project little noises to far-flung corners of the room, making it sound like a bird just chirped from the kitchen behind us.

Needed to try something different and this soundbar got really good reviews, I had a sony soundbar hooked to our LG OLED and it was a pain from day one!! This is great as the ARC actually works and I haven't had the unplug and restart it yet. Yay!!!!!!!!

I had reasonably low expectations for the sound coming from a sound bar made for television sound but this product surprised me with the quality of sound. Granted, not a real sound system but sound quality is good enough for music as well as video. Easy to set up, good quality and attractive.

If you want to hear what actors are saying this is the soundbar for you. Clearvoice option really makes a difference. That said, we've found the 3D super duper surround sound with effects bouncing off the ceiling...a little wonky. Even so, I think this is a good, solid, easy-to-setup system.

Overview...Yamaha Ys-207 is a very nice soundbar...plenty of power, great clarity and well constructed. There are limitations however. Firstly, The firmware upgrade is very very poorly set up. i had a heck of a time downloading the update but once that was done, it completed with no problem. The limitation i spoke of had to do with playing the soundbar at low volume levels. This was for a bedroom and so at night I wanted to keep the levels down. Unfortunately at some point, the subwoofer started to dropout ....I had to increase the volume in order for that not to happen....but that volume level was too high for the situation. I have other subs that continue to function even at the lowest volume levels. I sadly had to return the unit as this "quirk" did not work for me. I inquired with a Geek Squad member and he had no answer other than it's probably the nature of that soundbar. I would still recommend the soundbar but not for a bedroom application. This unit needs a place to "roar".

For the money this is a great bar for someone to start out with. Easy to use and very easy to install.

Clear sound and good bass. Provides the Virtual surround sound but it cannot replace the real surround speakers. Soundbar looks cool beneath the TV. remote is sturdy. since the sub woofer is Bluetooth it can be placed anywhere and gives nice thumping bass. voice is clear and can be tuned.

Sounds great for movies, sports and even music, but I wanted it for the ability to increase voices over background. It fell a little short in that category. Still, it is immeasurably better than the TV speakers.
