Excellent sound this my third Yamaha sound bar in 8 years, just keep deciding to upgrade good quality sound.

There is a lot to be listened to and enjoyed when a good quality sound bar is made. This new one from Yamaha does not disappoint if you are able to navigate through all the marketing and audio lingo. I gave 4 stars only because this will not give you the same experience as a well set up separate speaker surround system, but all of the manufacturers of this type of product gear their advertising to make you believe it will. I also point out that in my day I have had some separate speaker systems that didn't sound as good or room filling output as this system does with it's minimal footprint. The sound bar tech to mimic surround sound has come a long way, and this unit delivers sound that is well balanced and it is noticeably surrounding enough to know the engineers are at the top of their game for this product. I would recommend that if you want to experience the surround qualities this product offers, that it be placed in a smaller and fairly symmetric area to get the best results. If it is placed in a large space with open access to other rooms, you will not really get the surround sound which it is marketed to. When you have a smaller symmetric area, the speakers are angled and volume designed to bounce off the surroundings and timed to get to your ears in a way to provide the experience. In that respect, the sound has great clarity, range, and provides enough bass to bring you into the action. For this particular purpose, I definitely give this product a 5 star rating. I have numerous receivers from Yamaha that offer sound quality like this sound bar does, but only with quite a bit of setup, trial and error, and proper speaker placement. This unit will simplify your life by doing all of that for you with much less hassle. The design is sleek, modern looking, and fits into what I could imagine pretty much any interior décor. This is a great buy and smart choice if you determine your needs and they match what a single surround bar is honestly capable of. The wireless subwoofer is a nice bonus and compliment to the already excellent sound experience this product offers. Another quick note is the Alexa incorporation is actually usable. Many products just add this functionality to give another selling point, but this product not only has it, but it functions well.

Sound bar has shut off several times on its own. Don’t know if is a TV issue or sound bar problem. Both purchased at Best Buy in the last year.

Looks good. Sound is good. A little slow to turn on or switch input/settings. Biggest drawback is that it requires me to turn it on separately in addition to the TV.

The only thing I don’t like is the volume control, it just shows a + or - it would be helpful if it displayed a level like regular sound devices.

Everything was smooth. but using the promotional code online was not....I eventually had to go in the store so that it could be applied...

This is my first sound bar and after researching decided on this one. Noticeably better than tv audio, easy setup, nice design, but the remote stopped working. You can still use tv remote to turn on and off with tv, but disappointing and there seems to be no way to fix it. Looking to get another sound bar, upgrade from this model for my other tv. Don’t think I would purchase this one again due to faulty remote and having to have a separate subwoofer.
