Excellent value, sound quality is good but if you are looking for heavy bass this may not be the best bet. Best for smaller areas.

So I bought this based on lots of reviews and also the high ratings on CNET.com that recommended this soundbar for this price range! Luckily the price was $100 off when I was looking for Xmas so it was the perfect scenario when I needed it and the price was just right. The sub is very good and handles bass very well... its not BOOMY though which is good and bad in a way. the reason being is that the sub only does a certain frequency of hertz for the bass so anything lower than its rated it just won't do or sound faint. But not much stuff has very low booms on TV now days but if I wanted the full boom and etc then I would have gone back to my original surround system. Im looking for great quality sound and great bass for a small price so Im not gonna complain at all especially since the sub is wireless.

Fills the room with great sound, lots of great features like clear voice and audio delay. The wireless subwoofer is convenient and solid bass.

This was a simple plug and play sound bar. I like the blue tooth capability to play music from my iPad. The features are great (remote repeater; learns your tv remote; at night the sound remains constant even when those annoying commercials come on which always seem to be too loud. It does not sound like a true surround sound system but is not priced like one either. The sound is great. For real movie enthusiasts, get in your man cave and pay for all the add ons. but this is great for the family room without looking like a music studio

This Yamaha sound bar and subwoofer were supremely easy to install under my flatscreen TV in our living room. The installation completely simplified my AV system by accepting input from my TV via optical coax. I connected my old VHS player via RCA cables and i also connected my cassette tapedeck and my radio tuner via separate audio cables. We now enjoy excellent sound quality for our family enjoyment. I am well pleased.

Just set up this Yamaha soundbar. It has some nice features like IR repeater for TV remote if the bar blocks the sensor on your TV. The sound is decent, not top quality. But for the price, it seems to be a good value. Subwoofer connected smoothly and really enriches the sound.

Great product for the price. Had to downgrade from full 5.1 system to a sound bar because of space. It has a good sound field and is plenty loud. In this price range you won't find better. Doesn't have hdmi inputs but doesn't affect the quality. Overall a great sound bar.

No tinniness, great sound, excellent price. I looked at many reviews before buying this sound bar. It was the clear winner for sound quality. The only downside is that it has no HDMI outputs or wifi, but it does have bluetooth and a digital/optical connection to our TV.

This soundbar works great and fills the oversided living room completely. Great addition to my place and couldn't be happier with my decision. Definitely would recommend to all those that are looking for a great product at a reasonable value especially compared to other models.

Read many reviews online. Many sites rated this system number 1 overall. Visited store several times to listen to demo units. Unfortunately Yamaha was not set up for demo. Decision was between this unit and a Samsung 3.1 unit. Bought the Yamaha because of overall ratings and B. B. 'S 15 day return policy. Kept the Yamaha. Very good sound. Easy one cable hook up. Paired easily with my Sony tv remote. Easy Bluetooth connection with my IPhone. Liked Samsung display of function on soundbar verse lights on Yamaha. Yamaha app works well. No app for IPhone from Samsung. Saved $100.00 on sale. If you need greater sound, Samsung has 100+ more watts. Yamaha system working fine in a 14' x 24' room.

I purchased this item on a whim. I was in the store to pickup an online order when I saw it. I had been wanting a soundbar for my living room. The first thing we used it with was an XBOX game. My kids and I were blown away by the sound. Everyday since installing it I have been asked where the remote is to it. I truly love the remote pass-thru option. I have a custom built TV stand and thought this would be an issue with where I had to place the soundbar. It works like a charm. Only issue I have, and this is nothing big, is that I had purchased a fiber sound cable. There was one in the box.

We had an older Yamaha YSL sound bar from 10+ years ago that had started to have static and we knew it was time for a replacement. We looked at many of the newer 5.1 and 6.1 channel bars, but really could not justify the cost for our setup. This sound bar is fantastic and provides plenty of bass and surround sound when watching TV, movies, or sports. It was a bargain and Best Buy had free shipping as well. (Local store did not carry Yamaha brand.)

Admittedly in not an audiophile but this sound bar is really impressive. Loud and and clear sound at a great price. Set up was really easy too.

works as expected. subwoofer is awesome! at times when I try to turn on the tv and speaker, the signal doesn't go thru to open the tv.
