I did a lot of homework before buying this receiver and it paid off. I am very happy with it. I have not set up my tv through it yet (I am in the process of moving) so not sure how the 3d will work. When putting the tv through the aux there is a delay in the sound between the tv and receiver. I think once I put everything directly through the receiver that will fix the problem or you can just mute the tv. Instructions are easy to follow. Very good for the money.

Great sound. Upgrade from Yamaha 2000 to Yamaha 2040. I am very please with my purchase.

This receiver was on closeout because it was being replaced with a newer model. I dont need the HDCP 2.2 functionality because I dont have a 4K TV in the room this unit is in...and even then I could always run an HDMI cable directly from the video source to the TV Its a great sounding and well built receiver

I had to Amit this receiver has completely blown me away the new Atmo surround sound is unbelievable pure sound. Watched dee movies I thought would have fantastic fx transformers dark side of moon, saving private Ryan and the matrix could not believe my ears. Yamaha has hit the mark with this product!!!

I bought this unit as an open item. It came with the same warantee as a new in box unit, but it did not have an owner's manual. One Bestbuy associate said the manufacturer only provides a CD with the manual on it. The manual on CD if printed would be approximately 400 pages - too much to print for most end users. For a unit that retails for about $1600.00 it would seem that Yamaha could spend a few extra dollars to print and provide hardcopy manuals.
