    This is a good box and works well for me as it appears to handle everything I want to connect but the old school Pioneer record player I bought my wife for Christmas. When I hook it to the phono port, the sound becomes extremely muffled. I had to hook it up to an audio port to get quality sound and my emails to support have not received a response.

    No, I would not recommend this to a friend

    Excellent features and sound quality! Could not get an older first generation PS3 to work through the HDMI switch (6ft cable between console and receiver and 30ft cable between receiver and tv). Newer version (slim) worked fine. All other components switched fine as well. This AVR seems to have it all as well as great sound. I considered the Marantz product but could not get comfortable with display design/visibility from 8-10 ft away. Best Buy customer service was also excellent in helping with some delivery issues created by UPS. Thanks BB!

    I have a Denon 3802 and wanted to upgrade. First I bought the 840, but couldn't tell much of a difference between the two. When the 2040 went on sale I jumped. The additional 40 watts per channel made the difference. Dialogue at high and low levels is much more distinct and clear.

    nice looking unit with rich front panel look, plenty of power,sounds great. But lacks the ability to fast forward or rewind music from a usb drive or server ect. you can only skip to next song or restart song.(has no slider bar) This is a BASIC feature on most mp3 music players. If this dosen't bother you this is a grrat unit.

    Upgraded from an Onkyo TXNR-801. + Sound clarity and volume + Configuration options. + iPad controls work great! + Macros for common activities + Net radio/Pandora/media server controls from iPad + Multi zone control Great step up and I highly recommend.
