Just what I expected from Yamaha

To start with I am not a professional stunt man nor a employee of Yamaha, otherwise someone owes me a employee discount ! I do have over 40yrs of listening to music, Ex drummer also. Some other reciever's I've owned are Pioneer, Denon, and this is my second Yamaha . First one didn’t survive divorce court battle RXV-1500. What I drive are Klipsch RF35 s 8" Cermetallic woofers, boy do they drive them. I feel they start to open up around - 20 dec. Then all instruments are to separate from a group, I haven't gone pass there yet, since I've only had this a mth, there is so much I won't use but you never know, better to have it so I can use it, then not at all. I feel that I have alot to go to reach the top. Only small pt. Of negative, guys a backlight controller, if you want us old guys to buy, we need the light at night. Enjoy the Sound...

Became a fan of Yamaha when I bought the RX-A 1000 back in 2010. I figured it was time for an upgrade and took a look at a few models. Did some research and went with the RX-A2050. It did not disappoint. The feature set on this unit is outstanding. I am impressed with the functions it provides for the money and I use most of them regularly. Bluetooth and Apple Air Play especially. I've got it mated with Definitive Technology speakers all around and it drives them well when playing music or enjoying movies. I almost never want to leave the house anymore.

I've been a long time Denon receiver fan, but finally began to realize I wasn't getting the sound quality I should've from my Paradigm speaker setup. I debated between this receiver and a Marantz for several weeks and was ultimately won over by this receiver after strenuously comparing the sound differences between the two in-store. After setting up and exploring the features of the Yamaha, I'm elated that I chose this over the Marantz. The sound quality is exactly what I've been hoping for, the features and on-screen GUI are outstanding, and the smartphone app enables me to adjust sound fields quickly and easily (I was even able to discover poor speaker resonation by using it). I was so impressed with the quality and sound production of this unit that I replaced my BR player with the Yamaha Aventage BluRay. If you're looking for a quality, accurate sound upgrade, you can't go wrong with this receiver!

i had Pioneer receiver before then in 2012 as Magnolia Home Theater's sale agent suggest. i switched to YAMAHA with RX-A720 and really satisfied with it. Once again when the DOLBY ATMOS available i can't resist to go with YAMAHA by RX-A2050 receiver. I tried to search with YAMAHA speakers for ATMOS but can't find it .. then i have to go with Pioneer ATMOS compatible speakers and totally satisfied, crystal clear sound and upward speakers is awesome for ATMOS.

Great rcvr, tons of power, & great features!! Went to upgrade my current center channel spkr and wound up buying a set of ML Extreme motion 60's, and an Extreme Motion 50 cntr channel to go with my Motion 4 rear speakers and ML Dynamo 700 sub. I saw the new Yamaha 2050 and with its WiFi capability and built in Dolby Atmos made it so appealing, I upgraded on the spot!!! There really wasn't anything wrong with my existing Yamaha receiver (7.2 ch, 110 watts per ch), but I was impressed with not only the features but the extra punch with the extra power!!! I was not disappointed when I got home. It was easy to hook up and brought a whole different level to my home theater. I would definitely recommend this receiver to anyone looking for a great home theater system - worth every penny!!

After many days of research, I decided to purchase the Yamaha RX-A2050 due to the reliability of Yamaha AVRs and the included features. This is a very impressive AVR!!! Setup was simple and the sound and picture quality is amazing. I was impressed with the build quality of the unit and the technology integrated into the receiver. If you are looking for a AVR that will impress....this is the one.

I previously was utilizing a Pioneer Elite receiver. In the Magnolia sound room at Best Buy, I compared the sound of the music to the latest Pioneer Elite and found this to be more to my liking. A pleasant surprise is how good movies sound on this receiver. I would consider this state of the art and this receiver readily supports the B & W CM- 10's that I purchased with this.

I was just browsing, looking to replace a dead 7.1 Pioneer, and stumbled on this. Top shelf, high quality, full featured... and open box for less than half normal price?!? I had to do a double take when I saw the price, and confirmed on my phone that I was looking at what I thought I was looking at. Now, I'm not sure if BB made a mistake, but I didn't care, and snapped this beauty up then and there. A must buy if you find one open boxed for under $700.

I would give 5 stars but my reason for 4 is I liked the older display readout better. It is loaded with all the latest feature including streaming services. Although I would prefer to still have FM HD and satellite radio as a direct selection, it is now incorporated in the streaming radio feature.

I've been a pioneer fan for a long time but was convicenced to give this one a try. I am very impressed with the sound. This unit stood out as well because it allowed the use of digital inputs for the 2nd zone. I was a tad disappointed with the auto sound level program as it seemed not as detailed as pioneers but it did a fine enough job

I got this receiver as an open box item for a very good price $719. I upgraded this from a Pioneer elite VSX 90 atmos receiver it wasnt a bad receiver worked well but lacked power. This flagship receiver has all the bells and whistles. Very easy to setup. Ypao does a good job on calibrating your speakers and subwoofers. My def techs sound amazing when watching movies and listening to music. I gave it a four star because the subwoofer output is low compare to the Pioneer Elite, to fix that i raised the subwoofer volume on my svs subwoofer to 3 o'clock and bass management at 0.

I replaced my Rx-a1040 with this RX-A2050. More power and has Dolby Atmos which was one reason for the switch. Very easy to set up and I got this as an open box item at a very good price. Excellent sound quality, better than any movie theater.
