Purchased a 4K TV so had to upgrade my receiver, Blu-ray and of course along with cables. Very pleased with the Yamaha receiver and would recommend it to anyone looking to upgrade.

I am coming back to Yamaha after trying a Denon, and i am very happy with my new receiver. Ample power and user friendly on screen displays that make setup and operation simple. I owned my Denon for years and never new if i had it setup correctly because the menus and settings were so complex. This Yamaha exceeds all of my expectation..

I love this! A big upgrade for me. I went from an onokyo to Yamaha which this receiver has lots more feature and is much easier to set up

Good receiver with good features. I like that can put all music on thumb drive. I wanted receiver I could hook up amp for front speakers.

For the price, the reciever is decent, but not excellent at anything. You get the basic look and feel, as well as operation as Yamaha's flagship models. It sounds good for its price, and has features to match, although i dont feel it belongs in the Magnolia lineup. You have to pay much more for better models to get basic features a high end home theatre setup desires. Its advertised as 7.2 but you only have control of one sub channel. If you run dual subs, you dont get seperate level or sound adjustments for each one. It only supports dolby atmos as a 5.x.2 setup as it only has 7 amplifier channels. In my opinion it is a great receiver for a bedroom or most living room setups, but far from adequate for a home theatre. It does however have preamp outputs and you could add an outboard amplifier to decode 7ch with atmos.

A great receiver with decent features. Sound is great. MusicCast is good, but needs some improvement. This was a bedroom receiver. We also have the 870 and 2070 elsewhere in the house. The Aventage series receivers are built well, and look great.

Great sound. Easy set up. CD instructions are very easy to understand and follow.

Needed a upgrade, because of a new 4K TV. Plus had Yamaha receiver prior which lasted for 16yrs Read about reviews on the Yamaha Advantage.

Great receiver. Using for surround sound. Hooked with inceiling Bowers and Wilkins Speakers and Subs . Receiver had enough power to push out to all 7.2 surround. Would recommend. Also have a Yamaha 1080 and this receiver can keep up just not with all the bells and whistles.

Purchased and paired with two Definitive Technology Tower Speakers, with the long-term goal of going 7.2. Talk about explosive sound! My goal was to design a movie theater experience and mission accomplished!

This Receiver works as expected. It has all of the latest and greatest sound processing and video inputs.
