Had Geek Squad install. Did a great job connecting turntable, CD and DVD player. Yes it handles a turntable.

Bought this one as an open box. Quite a nice Receiver, but HDMI passthrough wuit working after few days. Took it back & got an open box of the top Pioneer Elite Receiver.

I replaced my old rx-v675 with this model and the sound is impressive. For first time I’m fully enjoying outstanding surround and 3D sound. Haven’t changed my speakers so the equipment is the difference. I have two BP-8040ST plus matching center speaker from same brand and two pioneer for surround.

For music lovers--home theater look to Denon

This RX-A860 made my new Def Tech 9060ST's & 9060 center sound bright. I have always only manually calibrated my home theater systems. No matter what settings (with DSP or without, direct or not, volume+, etc) I could never find a sweet spot for full range 5.1 audio when watching a movie. For example, my center channel sounded muddy or inaudible, when front speakers sounded good. However, whenever I played only 2 channel music or tv ARC sources, the front speakers came to life. So in my opinion, this Yamaha is very good for music listeners but for home theater (which is what I use my avr's for 90% of the time) go with another brand. In my case, I tested both a Denon x4200w and x6200w. These are in different price ranges than this Yamaha, but the Denons' for home theater--with minimal manual setup--brought my new speakers to life for my movies.

Two UHD AV Receivers in One

The perfect UHD AV Receiver for a high end OLED UHD TV and whole house speaker system. Zone 2 (whole house speaker system) can be turned on independent of Zone 1. Both zones can be synchronized or broadcast separate inputs at the same time. Easy set up with smart phone app that you say what is connected to what input and app programs the AV Receiver for you via WiFi. Worth the investment!.
