Simple enough for connecting to a CD player. Disappointed in the bass response and the lack of a balance control. Otherwise, it serves it's purpose for playing music.
We set this up and it would constantly kick the speakers off, which I read was a problem in other reviews.

Pushes some good volume. Bluetooth is not as seamless as it could be. Also some delays in sound via Bluetooth at times.

Overall a very good receiver the only problem is that it has no sound until you turn it up to 50 decibels

Sound quality not satisfactory. Noticed lack of richness of the sound of the music right away

A very big difference in sound volume between Bluetooth and any other input ( Line 1, TV, etc). It seems the amplifier gain (dB) is not sufficient on the line input to get anywhere near 100 Watts per channel. Typical DVDs don't put out much signal and there is not enough amplification. Do not recommend unless you only use the Bluetooth mode.

Just hooked it up to two new Sony speakers I purchased at Best Buy yesterday and I believe the unit is defective or grossly underpowered. It didn’t sufficiently power two small Boston Acoustic bookshelf speakers either. Very disappointing.

I bought this amplifier as a stand in for my ancient Marantz 2270, used to drive my ancient Ray Cizek speaker in my workshop, whilst the Marantz is out for a refurb. It has nominally adequate power, but the 100 watts/channel claimed don't come anyplace near that of my Marantz 2270, which is nominally 70 watts RMS per channel. The lack of large power supply caps inside is indicative of why it does not compare well to the Marantz? The power supply caps are TINY compared to the Marantz.... no large current reservoir (no large capacitors)? No solid bass. Punkt. Overall I was happy with the box for the ~$150 I paid... except? It forgets what input is selected even while online. I have it connected to my computer via Bluetooth and analog "Line 1" inputs, and after a time with either input selected, it just disconnects. It will ALWAYS be not connected when the power is turned on. Such a discapointment, as Popeye would say.

If i could have returned it i would have. U have to turn it up to 50-60 to start to hear the music. And plus i cant get the buletooth to work. And nothing came with it to say how... I bought because it was sony. Guess i should have went with a off name

Ordered open box- excellent to save a couple bucks. Huge mistake. First one was loose in the box with no protective packaging, no paperwork and missing a part. Turned out to be defective. Best Buy sent out replacement- also open box- excellent that had the packaging , paperwork and parts. However, it also was defective with the same problem- turns on then turns off loudly right away. tried resetting numerous times. Dealing with customer support was a nightmare and they barely spoke or understood english, They insisted I drive 1.5 hours each way and bring to a store even though they were both shipped to me. Done with Best Buy.

I bought this reciever upon while looking for an amp/reciever to use with an amazon echo. The only requirement I had was it had to automatically power when a signal from a source (the echo) was detected. Although this reciever will power off when no signal is detected after a period of time it will not power on when a signal is detected. Returned and hen with a russound amp.

Waste of money. Won’t stay on. Never has. No speakers or other units have been connected, so not an issue there. Tried resetting, didn’t work. Talked with customer support and they don’t know either and suggested that it be returned or repaired. It was a gift so the return date has come and gone. Never buy Yamaha.

Sound quality exists only at low volume . 200watt is a huge overstatement ! At 100% volume . Which it will do. Sound quality is poor. Even approaching this. Do not recommend . For premium sound quality you are going to pay much more. I did . I am completely satisfied with it.

Worked fine for two weeks. Went to turn it back on and would not turn on. Unplugged it and plugged it back in then it came back on. After roughly 3 minutes it shut off again by itself. The only way to get it back on is to unplug it then plug it back in and then I get 3 minutes again.

I bought this receiver for one reason and it was the Bluetooth connect feature. Read the reviews of how great it was people claiming they could connect to it any where in there house. This was not the case for me only worked if i was in the same room as the receiver. For this reason only i returned it.

Sounds good but it randomly (very occasionally) just shuts off.

We had it for a few weeks, however my husband wanted more power.

Great tuner but one spring clip broke already. Tuner sensitivity is exceptional but sounds a little lean.

I have to turn the volume up to 25 just to hear anything at all
