Yellowstone is very much a modern day take on episodic family dramas like Dallas or Dynasty - save for the modern day cynicism and violence of nature overtones. Season 1 is a good opening to what I assume will be a good multi-season run, and like most beginnings, this one will spend a good amount of time shifting between past and present, as well as basking in exposition. But that’s not to say there’s not a good story being told at the same time. We travel through a wide cast of characters, digging deep into their personal prowesses, which builds the backbone of the narrative involving men versus nature, the struggles of old American tribes and their plight against the past, a father and his drive to maintain his land for a fractured family. So basically: while this maybe compared to lighter affairs, and even attractive to those that love them - Yellowstone is far darker and morose, featuring violence, sex and hard language not meant for a lot of the viewers that may want to buy into this world - but instead, this is a series more in line with audiences that love long-form crime stories, like the Sopranos or Boardwalk Empire, or even Deadwood, with a smattering of some soap opera-esque tones of shoes like Little House on the Prairie, Dallas and Dynasty. It should also be noted that this series was created by star individual who wrote Sicario, Hell or High Water and Wind River - if you’re a fan of these films, this is definitely one for you.

Yellowstone is a great series that centers around a family that lives and works on the largest ranch in Montana. Kevin Costner is the lead character, John Dutton, along with other wonderful cast members (Cole Hauser, Kelly Reilly, Gil Birmingham, Luke Grimes, Danny Huston). The setting and scenery are beautifully shot, and the music/soundtrack are great. We binge-watched the entire season in two evenings, including the multiple bonus features. Highly recommend!

If you haven't watched this show, you're missing out! Best Buy in Henrietta had this available for me the same day it came out, and I have already ordered Season 2. Awesome that Best Buy always has the latest and greatest for people to always have their favorites handy! Also makes for a great gift for a father, grandfather or brother!

I've been watching this from the start...the entire cast is awesome. It's a little "dark" for Costner...but the writers are excellent and I was hooked from the first 30 minutes into episode #1. WELL worth the investment to watch it...I've bought the disc so I can rip it to my file server and watch it whenever I want.

I was not a big fan of westerns but this is one of the best ones I have ever seen Kevin Costner is the man in this show I love how he takes care of family business.

This series is amazingly original. The storyline, acting and cinematography is astounding. Yellowstone is like a secondary actor essential to the story. The complex intertwining of plotlines is enthralling.

I actually purchased the dvd for my father for Father’s Day and he absolutely loves the show now. Has always been a Kevin Costner fan.

I love Kevin Costner. He is perfect for this role and is surrounded by all very well cast actors/actresses. The show is very captivating and the scenery is astounding. Must watch!

I purchased this item on-line for the first time. Overall, I was pleased with the website, the ease of ordering and filling out the request. I received it in a very timely manner. It is nice to be able to have things shipped right to your door; particularly during the holiday's. I would encourage anyone to order in this fashion. Kevin Costner Is great as usual, as is the rest of the cast in the 1st season of this series. It's kind of a modern day western , about a powerful cattle rancher.

Stumbled upon the series last summer. I really like being able to go back at watch the series again to catch up before the start of season 2 later this summer.

Kevin Costner and cast do a great job of engaging the viewer in the continuous drama and suspense. Some language and adult situations not child friendly.

If you haven't seen this yet, you are missing out. One of the best series out right now. It's not an old western. It takes place in the modern day.

Not only was this a great price for this dvd for an entire season. It was delivered in a timely manner. I will definitely be ordering on line more often. .

NBC only allows preview of all of Costner Yellow stone series. The series has some really cowboys acting that may actually go on. Don’t really know but the devotion that the ranch hands happens. Tribe contributions is interesting. The power of the political handling by the tribe and ranchers and government. Have to watch.

We as a family enjoy watching this, and yes I know it not kids friendly. And it bring back memories of the 1990 shows. With all the actors.

What a really good show. The cast is great. The views are amazing. Overall a superb experience.

Get past the first three episodes and you will not be disappointed we got so caught up and binged watched season 1 and 2 in 2 days

You get some background, outtakes and personal opinions along with the episodes. A nice way to enjoy the series at your own pace.
