Yoshi just has a way of making things fun and the cardboard world is beyond more than what I expected.
Each level is so cute and colorful that it really REALLY shines through on a 4K tv. Even on a 1080p monitor it looks absolutely stunning. Not to mention the music is downright amazing. From the title song to the remixes you hear in later levels, Nintendo just knocks it out of the park.
While the levels are basically "run right and reach the goal", there's a good amount of secrets to find if you want to explore. Each world you travel to needs a certain amount of flowers in order to access. This is a little gatekeep-y, but the game does such a good job of handing you flowers. Without too much exploring you should be able to move to the next world without any problems.
The costumes you can unlock with the in-game coins you collect are adorable. Each one gives you bonus protection from enemies or falls. Not to mention the amiibos give you some bonus costumes. The Yarn yoshi amiibos give the best imo but the others are greatly appreciated. Do know that not all amiibos give a custom costume like in Wooly World.
This is a definitely must buy if you just want a chill game to play alone or with a friend.

My four-year-old son and I play this almost daily. It’s great at helping little ones improve their abilities with side scrolling games. When the game gets too intense, he can use his Yoshi to jump on the back of the other player and focus on shooting eggs while the more experienced player navigates the level. He is having a blast with it!

This defines the Yoshi franchise, this is an addicting, innocent and lovely game that I think all gamers should experience. This is by far one of the most creative/original games I've seen on the switch. The collectibles in this game keep making me want to come back to the levels to find them all, personally, I haven't got all of the collectibles myself, but I have finished the main storyline. This is one of the best Yoshi games out there for new players and returning players. In most of my reviews, I've pointed out that I don't care about the graphics, but the character in this game (Baby Bowser) looks exactly like Bowser Jr. without the bib and it's not his original style for Baby Bowser and that kind of disappointed me and it felt like the developers were being lazy with his character model, but that's just a minor fault of the developers. Also, the cutscenes are short, simple, and interactive and the way the bosses form is just brilliant, it takes you back to when you were a kid and you imagined every piece of furniture/scraps/machines/art/everyday items as an entity that had a personality attached to it. This game is so crafty and distracts you from how the real world is, the music is catchy and pleasant. I've also wondered why black and white Yoshi are not in this game? Overall an amazing experience, especially the Poochy and Poochy Pups mechanic that just makes the game a lot more fun. The multiplayer kind of changes the pace of things, but you get a laugh out of it. Especially the riding on each other part, that cracked me up, like Yoshi attack ride! Also, those mini-games are on point! Satisfying game.

This was a birthday present for my 10 year old son. He is very pleased with the game and said he would give it 5 stars. He also said that this game is better than Yoshi's Woolly World, and he really likes that game as well. The thing that my son said was his favorite about this game is that it has Mario 64 sounds in it.

I downloaded the demo for my kids and they begged me to buy the full version. Now that they have it, they really enjoy playing it. The game play is fun and challenging for them. It's nice that they can both play at the same time instead of fighting over who's turn it is. I actually like this better than Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe.

The game is super fun, for kids and adults. So many hidden little things but the music gets old after a bit. Great for the little ones.

Late adopter to the switch, look at this game for the girls (5 & 7). My 5-year-old is struggling a little bit with moving Yoshi around but my 7-year-old is catching on quick. Really fun for the kids, for me as a parent I'll stick with Mario 3d, kart, and Zelda.

Such a fun and addictive game! The levels start out pretty easy, but as you go they progressively challenge you more and more. I’m really glad I caved and finally purchased it. If you are a Mario fan then is a must have to add to your collection.

We’ve been looking forward to getting this game for a long time. We were not disappointed. The levels are fun but challenging. The game is appropriate for all levels and all ages. Warm portly it’s fine we’ve been looking forward to getting this game for a long time. We were not disappointed. The levels are fun but challenging. The game is appropriate for all levels and all ages. more importantly, it’s a fun game that the whole family can play and enjoy. I would say the downside to the game is it’s a one player game. That being said, we enjoy watching others playing and helping them through the levels. It’s fun learning what all Yoshi can do, and it’s fun exploring the levels. We have all enjoyed this game. Even just looking at the graphics and detail is amazing.
