    Serious workouts and plan

I bought this game to use the Kinect instead of going to the gym and wanted this to be like my personal trainer. I also like Tai Chi and it has a great Yoga and Zen exercise programs that actually scan your body to make sure you are doing the poses right and gives you audio feedback. There is also an objectives module that helps you set up a personal plan and encourages you to stick with it. It tells you have much cals youve burned, etc. The only thing that gets a little frustrating is actually learning which exercises to follow after setting up the objective, but you get the hang of it...just think it could be more intuitive. Overall, it's one of the best programs I have for the Kinect.

I bought the Xbox with Kinect primarily for this game, as I know I would never drive all the way to a gym to work out. Instead, you can tell this game what your goal is (e.g. "lose the muffin top") and it will suggest which modules to do, although you can do any modules you want. Modules last from 2-20 minutes, and include some skills games, targeted body areas, dance genres, as well as yoga and tai chi. I like the fact that the sensor can tell if you are in the right position, and will tell you if you need to straighten up, etc. You can input your height and weight so that it can calculate how many calories you burn with each activity, but the totals it comes up with are ridiculously low. None of the activities that come with it are geared for a cool down, so you have to download those for a fee, which I think is sneaky. After all, if there are warm up activities, they should include at least one type of cool down too. This game is part of the Your Fitness app that you can download to keep track of how many calories burned between this and a few other Xbox games. Overall, it is an interesting concept. After one month, I'm not bored with it, and definitely work up a sweat doing it for about a half an hour at a time.

    Kick butt work out!

I had the first edition which I thought was great, the 2012 is by far better with the floor workouts. I use this game at least 3 times a week and can't wait to use it sometimes after a long, stressful day at work. I've got my 3, 5 & 8 lb weights to go along with the weight training workouts. I'm not looking to body build, but for toning they're perfect for this game. Yes, some of the body tracking is poor, but as long as you are really doing the exercise as shown, it's still giving you a work out regardless of the games point of view. If you don't like going to a icky gym and prefer the privacy of your own home while getting a great work out and sweating bullets, nevermind the price of a gym compared to the one time price of a video game, and have your own personal trainer push you along, this is the game for you!!!

    Not bad, but not great

Gameplay is a little quirky on this. I worked out for 45 minutes, but it only registered when I did the moves exactly right, so it only gave me a whopping 6 minutes!!! It certainly gets your heart pumping & is a great workout, but since it doesn't track your body that great & you only get minutes for when you moved exactly like the instructor, it gets a bit frustrating. Overall a decent game.

I bought this on a whim because I just got a Kinect and didn't have many games for it. I'm completely happy with the purchase now. The game itself works very well with the Kinect system and tracks body movements very accurately. The game will let you know when your exercise form is starting to slip which is very helpful. My favorite thing about this game is the sheer variety of different exercises. I like to start out with a game of brickbreaker (smash bricks with your arms and legs), then move into one of the plans that focus on different body sections (abs, glutes, arms, back, cardio, etc). These are offered in classes from about 3 minutes up to 30 so you can find something that will fit your current fitness level. Then on to "Run the World" where you run in place while going through New York or London (I think there are other cities you could buy in Xbox marketplace but I'm not sure about that). As a cool down I will go into one of the beginner dance classes and try to do some of the Hip Hop or Bollywood moves. Good for a laugh, at least in my case.

It's okay but could have been so much better

It's an improvement on the 2011 version, but not by a lot, you get a lot more floor workout options, however they still reused a lot of the exercises and workouts. There are still too many 20-30 minute workouts where all they are is the same 3-4 routines repeated 3-4 times. Many of the exercises and workouts are exactly the same. With literally thousands of different exercises there's no reason for that kind of boring repetition except to save money in game development. The other complaint I have is that the area specific routines are not area specific. For example if you go do an "arms" workout you do a ton of lunges, squats, etc. If it's labeled as a "arms" workout that's all it should be. If it's an all body workout put it in that category. I see the benefit of working the entire body and it's what I typically prefer, but if it's labeled an arms workout that's what it should be. Otherwise you really can't build a workout days just focusing on certain areas. My biggest complaint and what is desperately missing is the lack of being able to build a custom workout where you choose the exact exercises and reps etc. and build workouts you want. That way people that have say an injury or bad knee, shoulder etc. can build what they can do easily. My only guess is they are avoiding that in order to try and keep selling new versions of the game down the road.

I've used this a handful of times since Christmas and will say that there are a ton of activies/workouts available. I have got frustrated and turned it off when the Kinect doesn't read my movements. It is a good workout, but it is frustrating when you don't get points/positive feedback. My husband watched me using it and agreed I was doing the exercises right, but it wasn't reading my movements. At any rate, I will continue to use it for warm ups before running on the treadmill. Seems like even on the hard setting that you just don't burn the calories you can on the treadmill in half the time.

Great workout, would like to see more user-specific/ tuned programming for progression purposes. As far as the content provided, this will make you feel the burn! But not with excessive side effects if you actually do the workout properly. I had some issue with getting the crunches to detect proper form for percentage purpose, but otherwise, it's great!

I thoroughly enjoy this fitness game. The Kinect in general has changed my life, but this game is pretty important too! The first time I used it, I exercised for 2 hours before realizing it! Needless to say I was SUPER sore the next day, but I LOVE it!

Like most users I can report that I get a good workout with an excellent variety of exercises enough to challenge me. My biggest issue is the ability of this game to track my movements. For the most part it is OK however I find the closer to the ground you are the less it sees movement, mostly with the abdominal exercises the sensors miss about 50% of my movements making it difficult to get clear feedback on technique.

Still amazed at how well the Kinect follows my every move. Fantastic. Obviously not much for storyline, but a wonderful program nonetheless. Challenging in most cases yet interesting and fun to use. Graphics are fantastic. Spend the money for HD. Well worth the investment.

Not happy with Best Buy. Had much difficulty with the order mainly with long wait . Tried to cancel and initailly told it was done but then got the game anyway. I had in the meantime purchased the game somewhere else and ended up giving it to a friend.

    Very Good Workout

Much better workouts than the original version. Just a couple of issues: 1) Some sections like the Boot Camp don't calculate calories accurately. 2) Would be nice to have pre-set workouts based on your preferences available, or at least be able to set up routines in advance so you can move from exercise to exercise more quickly. But still an excellent workout.
