Great, but defective

It has a few scratches and bubbles in the glass. I was told they had been sent a bad batch so all of the remaining ones in stock were defective also and to come back when they got a new shipment. I don't understand why they didn't take the rest of them off the shelves though. It wouldn't be right for someone to purchase a product that they know is defective.
