Poor fit it will break

Bought the new iPhone 8 and got the shield (yes it fits for this phone) and it will not go anywhere close to the edge. Not even with a case on it. It broke in 1.5 weeks. I noticed the corners do not stay adhered as it is far off the edge. I will not purchase another one for this phone.
