not so great

I totally understand the concept behind the anti glare screen look, but to me, it just made the screen cloudy, like it had a film over it. I ended up taking it off and buying one that has the same shiny surface as the ipad screen. Personal preference I guess, but I would not recommend.

Worst product for IPad

This was absolutely the worst screen protector for the IPad or any other screen. Before it is sold in a store, it should be shown on a model so that the consumer can see what the protector will do to the screen. The images become distorted through all the graininess.

It's OK, screen looks less crisp and vivid

It was installed by BB and in that regard it's perfect. No bubbles or imperfections. However, the screen looks much less crisp and vivid. It's almost pixelated like an old tube TV. It does a great job of protecting the screen from 2 yr old fingers, but that's about all I like it for.

Very Bad Buy!

This product took away the great picture of the ipad 2 but I understand why; to be smudge resistent but it comes with huge cost! It made the screeen look very grainy, much like the cheap camera they put on the ipad 2. It's unfortunate that it makes the screen look like this because otherwise, it's a great idea. Luckily, Best Buy allowed me to return the product after a week and exchange it for Zagg's regular Invisable Shield screen protector. Thanks Best Buy! The regular Zagg product is great!

Poor clarity and over priced

Purchased at Best Buy in Princeton. Only screen protector left. Best Buy installation was worth the money even though there are a number of small bubbles remaining. The screen protector is mainly smudge proof but there are thin lines that run through the screen protector ruining clarity.
Contacted the company and received a quick response. They wrote that the problem is something that does occur. They offered to replace mine with a complimentary copy but couldn't guarantee that I wouldn't still have the problem.
Personally wouldn't buy the product again. If you're reading this review for advice. My advice is to move on to another product.

Great product but...

This product does everything it says. With that being said, it is on the expensive side and it is very difficult to put on. Having to put in on using the included liquid spray is scary especially when you are using it on a device that clearly is supposed to have liquids kept from it. There is is only one in the package, so it's a 35$ screw up if you make a mistake. If I had to decide to use it again knowing how hard it was to put on, I would go with a cheaper easier alternative. The other thing I don't like is how it affects the visual quality of the screen. Makes it a bit too grainy.

Worthless, actually worse then worthless if you count in the damage done to my heart from the high blood pressure installing this product produces. Once installed it looks like there is a thick paste between the shield and the Ipad screen surface. Cant believe i got suckered for $35.

I have used InvisibleSHIELD on all my phones and tablets. This smudge proof version is horrible. It makes text blurry and ruins the beautiful picture. I had no problem with install but after two days I had to remove it. It was a total waste of money . Stay far away from this product.. Or if you want to waste 40 bucks just save yourself the stress of installing and throw 2 twenties in the trash.

Had a hard time putting it on. Now left side of the screen appears fuzzy. Quality is good just wish I had not gotten the anti glare.

Too much distortion

Yes it will protect your screen and cut the glare..... but not worth the distortion! The iPad is known for it's clarity and definition of pictures, videos, movies.....bare screen is best! Most people like myself purchased a case or Smart Cover that will more than protect it while not in use. And while in use....think about it....are you really going to be using anything THAT sharp near it. I was happy that Best Buy did refund my money (minus installation charges). I have found a re-usable (goes on and comes off in seconds) that can be used for the anti-glare when you need it....while lying by the pool ;-)

Makes your screen look terrible.

It appears to really protect the screen and maybe even keep away smears; however, the picture quality is terrible after putting it on. It was like going from high definition 1080p to 480p on a LCD TV. Terrible.

I bought this along with the iPad 2 that I bought for my husband. I have my own iPad 2, with a different brand of screen protector, so I know how to install them. This one, though, was so difficult to install, and had such a lousy look to it, that we had to take it off immediately and throw it away. It was a waste of $30+.

This was the only screen protector available for the IPAD 2 at the Best Buy store when I purchased my IPAD 2. I mistakenly thought it was because it was a superior product. Like the other reviewers I am very disappointed in the grainy look of the screen. It took 2 days to get it to look acceptable. First the liquid you spray on the protector before sticking onto screen needs to dry up. Then you have to work on the air bubbles. Regardless it's grainy.

Installed ok but made screen very grainy. I left it on about a month and couldn't take it any longer, removed and haven't put back on. Expensive mistake for what it is.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS ITEM. I've used the regular InvisibleSHIELD on my iPad 2 and loved it, although I wasn't terribly happy with the fingerprints - which is why I thought I'd try the smudge-proof one on my new iPad. As soon as I placed the smudge-proof one on, I was extremely dissapointed. The texture distorts the screen. What's the point in upgrading my iPad when I put a protector on it that distorts the graphics and makes everything fuzzy. It's been removed and now I'm out $35.

Avoid!

I have used Zagg protectors on other devices and had been quite pleased--until now. The matte, smudge-free version of the screen protector for my iPad distorted the screen view markedly--so much so that I removed it after less than 1 day of use. Trust me, unless you are very tolerant of the pixelation effect imposed by this screen you will have immediate buyer's remorse.
If you want a smudge-free protector try Apple Power Support or Speck's Shield--both are excellent and far better choices.

Is smudge free but mutes colors

Does what it say it will do however if you wish to see the sharp images and colors, especilly on a new iPad this is not for you. all the crispness is lost and colors are muted. If this isnt important to you and your tired of you screen being full of fingerprints then this is for you. After a week you will see from an off to the side glance shiny spots where you keep hitting the keyboard. this will not be evident looking direct on. For this purpose much greater that the unprotected screen or the shiny protected screen

A million tiny rainbows

This product severely distorts the screen of my iPad2. Up close you see millions of tiny rainbows. From a distance it is not as clear as it should be.
For the price, this product is garbage.
It still smudges, too, so it fails at its alleged distinguishing characteristic.
Get something else.

Invisible shield is a great product, I wouldn't recommend the smudge free one if you ever read on your iPad. It make a rainbow haziness that blurs text terribly.

Do Not Buy This Item. The packaging says "New and Improved", as well as "clear". If this is an improvement, I would hate to see what they were producing before. It significantly distorts a beautiful high resolution display. This is not clear, it makes the display appear pixelated. Amazing that Best Buy sells this for $35. When I tried to return, the store manager said there were no returns on this type of item. I have since found truly clear screen protectors for the IPad2.
