The only time I use it is if there is a stinky odor in the kitchen I open the windows and the hood just sucks fresh air through the room and up the hood. Love the task lighting, there is a high and low. You can also set the hood to turn on for 10 minutes every 4 hours. The next best part is there is a remote control too!
