Watching how the Osama raid went down was one of the best scenes I have ever seen.

This is a great movie and instant classic. Kathryn Bigelow’s direction and attention to drama and tight action are second to none. She’s one of the most talented directors working right now and (off topic) it’s a shame Detroit didn’t do well because that was a great movie too. The story is taut and gripping even though it’s 2 1/2 hours. Jessica Chastain deserved the Oscar for her role as CIA analyst Maya (over Lawrence). The story features a political backdrop full of cliched incompetent men, who predictably keep Maya down. Her typical “strong woman” conviction might also seem cliched but Chastain plays it with mettle. Anyway, we all know the story of Seal Team 6 and I read about the creative liberties they took for this movie; so, if historical accuracy is your thing you might not like this. Also there is a lot of intel gained through torture so heads up. Overall, this is a well acted, well written, masterfully directed movie that you need to see.

This is a nice movie. Action and suspense. I can watch it over and over again.

This bluray on Zero Dark Thirty was definitely told well and fun to watch!

Katherine Bigelow's work has seen much attention in recent years, especially due to The Hurt Locker winning best picture at the Oscars a number of years ago. Her expertise with the military/thriller/character study genre continues in Zero Dark Thirty, namely spotlighting the acting prowess (even more so) of Jessica Chastain. I tend to lean towards a stance expressed in prior interviews with Bigelow stating that portrayal doesn't necessarily indicate support. The torture scenes in this film are indeed difficult to watch, but they happened nonetheless. Does that mean the director champions such methods of interrogation? Certainly not, and as ironic as it may sound, Bigelow has firmly identified herself as a pacifist in past interviews. That does not deny her interest or fascination with war and its participants, however, nor developing an artful hand in portraying its many, many facets. She does so with excellent pacing, writing, realism, and acting quality in this film. A definite must watch.

This is a must have movie for your collection. Great acting and plot.
