Excellent depiction of true events that was based on a lot of factual information from the incident. There is another similar movie out that does not compare to this one, but be warned ..this movie is not for the faint of heart. Be prepared for some pretty graphic scenes leading up to the Bin Laden raid that include some brutal interrogation techniques and suiciding bombing. But it’s all done to tell the story of what happened, and it’s done very well.

Once again, Kathryn Bigelow directs a searing portrait of our nation's contemporary conflicts. This time, the focus is a manhunt rather than the broader, general theme of "war". As in real life, however, nothing of this nature is simple and does not come without consequences. Expertly written screenplay, regardless of any dispute about factual discrepancies. Chastain's performance as the film's protagonist is complex and intently absorbing, just as she is absorbed in her case in the Middle East. The film was criminally underrated or at least unnecessarily backlashed at the time of its release, but it holds its own as an individual cinematic story.

I read the book of the guy who supposedly killed Osama Bin Laden and this movie is very true to that book. I don't even think this movie claims to be based off that book either. Anyways, it's a good flick. Loved Jessica Chastain as the CIA agent who spent 5 years tracking OSB. It's supporting cast was good too. I enjoyed Chris Pratt's character in this move as well. As I have said before, I am horrible at summarizing movies without giving away its plot, so this is all I really have to say about this movie. At this price point I cannot see anyone being disappointed with their purchase.

As a veteran and former Government employee who now works at a studio level in Hollywood, I didn't expect such a honest portrayal from such a hypocritical Hollywood liberal as Bigelow, except for the very way over the top portrayal of the CIA's rendition and water boarding program the film was well done. (Of course this is the same director who showed K. Reeves surfing goofy foot and then regular foot in the very next scene in Point Break so facts are not exactly her fortay). Surprisingly other than the waterboarding scenes this film stuck pretty true to the facts and the actual events that unfolded to find and bring down Osama. Legitimate portrayal of how the govt and military do work at this level. Excellent cinematography and solid acting. Worthy of owning and more than one view.

This is a pretty movie, WAY better than Seal Team Six movie especially because it is based on an actual event. Although it is not packed with action, seeing how the raid was executed as close as it can get as well as what happened behind it. It is one of those where you don't get as much engagement as you would expect and some inaccuracies here and there - which I would not mention here as it might spoil it for others that may want to see this. Overall, if it goes on sale, I would definitely get it. But it not, just wait for it to come out on Netflix or Redbox. Your choice.

Say what you want about the film. It's a patriotic masterpiece to some and probably fallacies to others. However, I can't help but being engrossed in both the story and plight within here. What is the real icing on the cake here though is this 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray presentation. It is pristine in appearance and bombastic in the surround audio department with its Dolby Atmos track. The Digital HD file included here is UV and playable in 4K via the Sony apps on modern Sony 4K TV sets.

Kathleen Bigelow director of the Academy Award winning film, Hurt Locker, outdid herself in this film. How close was it to reality? The military questioned how she found the facts regarding what actually happened. Jessica Chastain, Jason Clark lead a perfect cast. The second the top secret, stealth helecopters, take off on the way to their target; the film becomes an enormous achievement. The supporting cast is made up of actors that would star in other films.

I knew the movie would be about the hunt and how the government would use certain tactics to find the information needed to find Bin Laden. However in watching this movie, it felt like the news reports and headlines came to life and actually helped me what everything in current events meant. The movie was like a docudrama putting you in to the action of everything while also helping you understand the strategies and risks it took to take action. Also the performance of Jessica Chastain was amazing as she portrayed a character that was determined and overall tough enough to finish the job. Overall, I liked the movie and I think it's worth watching.

I kept delaying watching this movie, afraid of it to be too depressing for my taste. The blu ray was on sale for $5. So I gave in. Zero Dark Thirty is an excellent and tightly wound thriller. Albeit the torturous interrogations are a little difficult to watch. And the fact that you already knew how the film would end. The staged Seal Team 6 raid is still exciting and causes my heart to skip a few beats. It surely deserved its Oscar's. The blu ray serves up good details and dynamic sound.

This movie chronicles the hunting down of Osama bin Laden and his subsequent killing. It's a great story that tells how they managed to kill him without anyone knowing they were getting ready to do it. I loved it. Great action. Jessica Chastain was fantastic in this movie.

As this movie takes you from the air traffic controller comments from 9/11 to the relief of punishing the perpetrators, ZDT is a rugged ride, Not for the feint of heart, but not The Expendables. The violence is there to make a point and does not feature action packed effects to make that point. You may have to adjust the brightness and contrast to avoid missing the siege due to the night vision lighting. The controversy over the extreme measures used to elicit information at the height of America's reaction to 9/11 is overblown. Anyone will come away after the movie with scenes that support their position, whatever that may be.

Great, realistic plot that gives a historical version of the story behind killing Bin Ladin in Pakistan. The film was realistic in its presentation and characters, and behind the scenes work of government agencies. Having been in the military and handled sensitive communications from around the world, the film came very close to actual process for this type of operation.

Awesome story based on one of the greatest raid and capture in US history. This movie filled with suspense gave the American citizen a general idea of how well and dangerous this mission really was and the risks that revolved around major decisions. Great directing. Praise goes to the Special Team members for capturing one of the world's most hated and notorious villians!!
