Must have fun game for the Wii U

I had heard a lot of great things about ZombiU. Checking other sites yields the same types of reviews. It's not overly scary so it's perfectly fine for kids, and it makes use of the Gamepad very well. A lot of fun, especially if you can get it for less than $20 which you can often do at Best Buy. Do yourself a favor if you're looking to build your game library and grab this one. You should love it.

    Not great, not bad either

Is it scary? Yes. So what's the problem? Multiplayer online would've been nice. This game is often billed as the best 3rd party game on the Wii U and that's just over selling it. It's not a great game but it's not bad either. It's a middle of the road title that many developers these days are guilty of producing and trying to push it off as a top title. It has it moments for sure but it also has moments you can do without. A must have only when it's on sale at a great price. There are a lot of great Wii U games out there, this one is not one of them but that shouldn't stop you from buying it at the right price. It has its moments.

I really like the multiplayer, it is a great use of the Wii U gamepad. One player is a human while the other controls the zombie placement on the maps.

I love the feeling of loneliness given by the game. It feels more like the apocalypse has happened than most other games. Gives you time and quiet to really let it sink in.

I would recommend this game for people who like survival games and obviously, zombies. Not for children. This game makes good use of the gamepad.

ZombiU is an WiiU launch title in 2012, but don't fret this is coming to the PC, PS4 and XBone later in Q4 2015. Although there won't be a second screen. I always thought it was a wonderful idea to look at the WiiU gamepad when browsing the inventory, while leaving the big screen exposed in 3rd person view. It not only lets you glance around for zombies creeping on top of you, but also provides for a more interesting view for audience who are watching you play as they might spot something unusual occurring while you're sorting the inventory.

As a big zombie genre fan, I've been eager to play this game after we bought a WiiU. The atmosphere is dark and foreboding, but combat is clunky and unintuitive. You die too easily in normal mode, and most of your missions take place at night or in the dark, when a more logical course of action would be to perform outside missions in daytime. It's an OK game at best; wait for the bargain bin.

Cool game for the first wii u zombie series. It's no resident evil but it's unique game play and story make it worth the replay value again and again

This is a really fun early Wii U game that utilizes the Gamepad in fun and unique ways. I highly recommend this if you like using the Gamepad and want a game that takes proper advantage of it.

Honestly - if you're into zombie games, this is one you must play. The experience of having to look down at your controller for a map or inventory or anything to that effect is downright frightening when you're in a pile of zombies. The controls could be better, but as a whole, a solid experience! I have also encountered some interesting clipping issues that can frustrate.

ZombiU is ambitious in its approach and in some areas, it succeeds, where in others it fails. You play as a survivor in England, a zombie breakout gripping the London at the moment. You are lead into a safehouse by a man calling himself the prepper, and he is your guide. The safehouse is for the most part, devoid of any Zombies, it has a storage container to keep supplies in, and it is one of the only places you can save your progress. Later on, you find smaller safehouses amonst the levels to save your progress in. If you die in this game, you start from your last save at the safehouse as a new survivor. It keeps track of how many survivors you've played as, half the fun is seeing how far you can get without losing a survivor and comparing them to other player's bests. Basically, this game is about horror through difficulty. To melee you have to first ready your cricket bat by holding the left bumper and then tapping the right bumper as you taking a long swing at a zombies head. A couple of of well timed strikes will eventually put them down. Guns and ammo are scarce. This game actually encourages you to play stealthily and avoid conflict. A refreshing change in a way, from the other games in the genre where you go in guns blazing.

The Wii U has been blasted for not having enough games to stay relevant in the next-gen console wars. But, apparently this game has been overlooked. ZombiU is not a beat-em up button mashing game. This game requires patience and strategic thinking in order to survive with relatively limited resources. It feels like a true survival game and uses the gamepad in ways other games haven't. This is definitely a diamond in the rough.

A real tough game for anyone. You get bit, you die and you die a lot. Great idea as you come across other dead players you can scavenge their stuff. Good use of gamepad. Good graphics. You get scared easy because around every dark corner could be a biter waiting for you. Sometimes to linear of a game. More people should try this game and support the Wii U and Ubisoft. They make some top notch games.
