I received an iPod Nano (2 G) for Christmas, but since I have so many gigs of wma files already, I decided to get a device that would take what I've already ripped to Windows Media Player. Download of software was quick and easy, but I had trouble getting it to access the internet (help page was useless, but Zune Community Help on website had the answer). Then I had monkeyed around so much, it no longer recognized the device, so I had to go thru Add New Hardware again. But once it was up & running, it was very easy to use (and the software interface is pink, too! Cute!). It loaded my existing wma & mp3 music files to the main collection automatically and quickly. The software is very clean-looking and easy to read and navigate. I really like the use of album art in menus and while music plays. I think the sound is pretty close to the Nano in quality, although a bit more bass would be nice (no EQ or bass boost, unfortunately). Screen is larger than Nano's and I find it easier to use than the Nano, especially the scrolling. Sounds great in the car, I don't have an aux jack so I'm using one of those tape deck things (a Sony) plugged into the headphone jack. Nice not to lug around all those CD's anymore! You can purchase music from Zune, or buy a download pass, and also can rip and burn CD's with the software. Also plays video & photos, but small screen is not ideal for that use. So far, I'm very satisfied with this device as a way to carry my favorite music around.

I love my PINK 8gb Zune! L-O-V-E! Excellent sound, cheaper than iPod and it has a RADIO unlike iPod. I love this thing! I'll start with the cons: Its not what I would call user friendly at first. But then again, my 12 year old neice had to teach me how to use my last new cell phone. Get the picture? My computer guy at work said its no different than any other mp3 but it took a good 48 hours for me to quit hating it. (You have to load software, load music and/or buy music then set up the player - not rocket science but taxing to my technologically challenged mind.) I'm terribly disappointmed in the lack of Accessories. My Zune is pink which kind of makes up for not being able to buy cute little sparkly cases and such. I have a plain black case with a clip that suffices. Most of the time its stuffed in a pocket anyway but the case helps protect the glass part. I'm also disappointed that it doesnt have blue tooth technology, what that means is that I can't get one of those expensive wirless headsets. I get the headset wires stuck on drawers and everything else imaginable. I'm a klutz so that's a huge drag!! But the Zune must be pretty durable because.... well, i'm a Klutz remember?! And detachable speaker thingies - they have a couple different ones for the zune unlike the 500 different kinds for iPod. They have iPod stuff everythwere. I must say I'm a little jealous - you see, I'm an accessorizing kind of girl! Pros: FM RADIO!!! DIGITAL EVEN! LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! I love the Zune website for downloading music too. I pay about $1 per song. Much cheaper than buying a whole CD for a few songs. Very easy to use, love to preview music and videos and check out other people's playlists! So far I've spent about $150.00+ on music. But I'm one of those cheap skates that prefers the radio and only buys about 3 CDs per year, so after loading my sad sad music collection, I was in dire need of some more music. I'm making up for lost time apparently. However, every song I've purchased, I love, so its been worth every dime (and I'm cheap remember?). Friends and family can give Zune gift cards too! (I went to the Wal-mart music website and it was pretty generic compared to the Zune site. I'm sticking with zune. I'll pay the extra 18 cents.) Capacity: Why would anyone need more than 8 gb? I have about 600 songs and I've only used 1/4 of the memory. Fun stuff: You can download youtube videos. Very cool when you're waiting in line somewhere and bored. Would I recommend this to a friend? YES. However, I'd recomend iPod to a teenage girly girl that likes to accesorize. Would I buy a Zune again? ABSOLUTLEY. I doubt that I will own anything else. My husband got me my Zune for Christmas. By New Years he said he felt like he'd already gotten his money's worth. I thought I would get sick of this thing but I have it on me 24/7. Its like my cell phone, I go home to grab it if I forget it. I can't even imagine going to the grocery store oR to the gym without it!!!!!

I ordered the pink 8gb Zune MP3 player about 3 weeks ago. This is my first MP3 player and so far I am happy with the purchase. It is lightweight and fairly easy to figure out, although the dial seems to be extra sensitive for scrolling. The software took FOREVER to install and I had to call Zune to talk me through changing my settings so that I could buy/download songs through the marketplace. However, now that it is set up it is very easy to work. I also got the car adapter kit because I mainly listen to music while driving. The MP3 player comes with some songs and videos already downloaded on it, however I did not like any of them and decide to delete them to free up more space. Although I am sure it will be a while before I can fill all 8gb. Right now I have only used 1gb.

After researching for a new MP3 (or Ipod) I finally decided to get this one. I think it was the reviews that made my final decision. The Zune is fantastic and all my I-pod friends agree (and wish they bought one instead). The features are GREAT and so is the sound. It took me a while to figure out how to download songs and create folders. There wasn't a manual that explains all of this (which was a con) but once I figured it out, I was all set. Another con is that the battery life runs out fairly quickly in my Zune. I use the cable that came with it to charge to my computer (maybe that's why). I will buy a wall charger (maybe that will help). Other than that, I am in love with this thing. I've already put a movie on here, 5 videos, and about 140 songs and I still have 6gb of memory left! Overall, you won't be disappointed - this is a very great MP3 player. Enjoy!

When I decided to upgrade from a good basic 1GB MP3 player (a gift), I was overwhelmed with the choices! After all was said and done, the ZUNE was my purchase and it has been the very best of choices. Downloading music is easy. The favorite catagory lets me put exercise music together and quickly access it at the gym. For riding my bike I have another play list. Having the radio stations is a must for me, too, and ZUNE didn't overlook that aspect either. The controls were easy to master because they are fairly intuitive, a plus for certain. For me, the controls seem to be overly sensitive, too light to the touch. The only negative I can see!

Buying this Zune was a great decision. It works amazing and I like it better than Ipods. It is very easy to use and has many great features and is very easy to get music onto it.

My daughter had the Ipod Nano for nearly two years and her car was broken into and it was stolen. So we replaced it with the Zune at the recommendation of two store clerks. They were right. It is cheaper but has several features that the Nano doesn't have. At first she was frustrated with it because it isn't that easy to set up or get it going but once she figured it out she loves it. All of her friends who have Nano's already are jealous. Plus we were told at the store that because this is a Microsoft product it will be compatible with more computers. And with the Zune you can download movies and pictures.

I am very pleased with my very first mp-3 player ever. I love it! I have heard so many bad things about the apple i-pods and then my friends told me about the Zune. It is great for holding all my favorite songs and has a nice, clear picture for watching all my favorite movies. I would be happy to suggest this product to anyone looking for their first mp-3.

I love my ZUNE....I just brought it last week & literally haven't put it down. It's easy to use & it's given me no problems thus far...personally to me 100x's better than IPOD I also love to use the beam option that ZUNE offers, my husband & I trade songs (less for me to have to download)

I got this as a gift from my husband for our anniversary. It was a very nice surprise! I have had it for about a year now and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. Its wonderful works really easy. Nice to use while you are working out or to block the kids out!!! Definataly recommend

Tomorrow I will go get my third zune in three months. My zune just keeps freezing and wont do anything. It is really frustrating because I have put much time and money into this mp3. My sis bought the first generation one and it works like a charm. A GREAT product, but I think they were confused because the second generation definitely did NOT get better.

I think the Zune is an OK product. But unfortunately, it has broke on me 4 times! You do get a 1 yr. warranty, but whenever they send you one, it still doesn't work. I got one back today and hopes it doesn't break. If I were you, I would not buy.

i love this product and it is the best music player ever

I purchased this Zune after researching the different brands of mp3 players available. The Zune seemed to have a very good review and I was hopeful this would be user friendly. However, I had a difficult time downloading software and the Device would not update. Why would it need updated before use if it is New??? Returning to the store tomorrow as I can not waste anymore time on this. Zune customer support could not help identify the problem either.
