Got this this for my wife on Oct 31. After setting it and using the phone, it's is really worth the money. Even though it has a plastic back instead of a metal/glass back, it's still solid and wonderful looking. The refresh rate is amazing (120hz), the camera on it is as good as it gets for the money as it takes solid quality images. The focusing is super fast and responsive and the 3x zoom is something that most phones still don't have physically Although the screen is just 2400x1800 AMOLED not UHD 4K, you really cannot tell (tbh, unless you're a smartphone aficionado, you can't tell screens that small having great resolutions or not).
The battery size is great and unlike many flagship phones, it's bigger than most of them and it charges pretty fast. Bonus also that it has an expandable memory slot (1TB) which is located on the reverse side of the SIM card slot (first time I've ever seen that!). If I had one drawback for the phone is that this model could have used 8gig of RAM instead of six. I know this phone was made less expensive cutting certain features from the what's available on the other S20 models, but as cheap as RAM is, I think that could've been put in.
I have an S10 I got over a year ago, and it's just as good, even the camera is better and the FE has 5G with the 865 processor where my phone is max 4G LTE. The S10 is still more expensive than the S20 FE and it's screen refresh is at 60hz only. So, if you want an almost flagship type phone, and only have the bucks for the typical $500-$700 model today in that price range, this one is it!

Unlocked model does not support current Verizon 5G
5 out of 5
Be warned- the unlocked S20FE 5G is not compatible with Verizon’s mmWave 5G, only sub-6, which has yet to be rolled-out by Verizon. I honestly don’t understand why Samsung would release an unlocked version that does not provide full functionality on all carriers, what is the point?
Although I was able to get a great deal on this phone, I will have to return it, as I use Xfinity Mobile and they operate on Verizon’s towers, thus requiring the S20FE 5G UW (Ultra Wide) model that is currently only produced for Verizon contracts.
What a confusing mess for the average consumer that purchases this expecting to take full advantage of 5G capability across all carriers.
Love my new phone. I replaced my Moto G5 play with this Samsung S20 FE and couldn't be happier. This phone has the 865 chip and is very fast to process operations. The Motorola did last me 2 years and I decided to go up to a midrange phone this time. The 120Hz refresh rate really isn't necessary unless you're a huge gamer so I switched it to the 60Hz setting; not much difference. The one thing I'd advise is to buy a case with a front screen protector as I've seen reviews where this screen is easy to scratch. However, the fingerprint scanner won't work through a protective front screen; no big deal to me. I just use a pin number instead.
I purchased 2 phones. One for me and one for my girlfriend. I like that there is a variety of colors. Normally I would purchase the flagship model, but I had to buy 2 phones and I didn't want to have 2 grand tied up in phones. Honestly coming from a samsung s8 I don't have too many complaints. The only 2 I have are that the camera seems a little sluggish when you take a picture versus the s8, and the lack of being able to find a phone case that has a holster like the otterbox ones. The phone is a little bigger than I'd like, but that's a preference thing, on the plus side it's a bigger screen.
Purchased this and it works on cricket wireless. Even though the phone is 5g, cricket wireless is only letting their cricket branded phones on the 5g side.
Camera wise I am impressed having upgraded from the s8. Except the front camera, I have yet to figure out how to turn off the filter, it feels like there's a built in filter in the front camera no matter what app I use. Love that I can turn bixby off now since I don't use it and just have a regular power button. Also love the additional functions and customization options. The touch sensor for fingerprint also doesn't always pick up my print, I have to have my finger at a certain angle all the time.
I've had this phone for almost a week and I think it is a really well made phone. For the price it's hard to beat. The screen is vivid and beautiful. The processor is superfast and the camera takes awesome pics. The camera app has so many functions I don't think I'll ever use them. The face unlock feature along with fingerprint unlock work quickly and reliably. The 5G works fine on Tmobile. Speeds can vary tremendously depending on what the carrier's coverage is. I wish it had a 3.5mm headphone jack but this is still a great phone. I highly recommend it.
Upgraded from a 1.25 year old mid-range phone and so far so good. Certain web-sites that play videos now run noticeably faster and smoother, so the 6 GB of RAM and CPU is worth the premium. Camera image quality is also very good, clear, and responsive. Even though there is only one visible speaker vent/grill, the audio output from earphone and speaker are excellent. Android 10 sucks - formatting microSD as internal memory is not available, but the phone has 128 GB so it's not a deal breaker and you'll need to be somewhat current on Android otherwise you run the risk of app compatibility. Screen is .02" larger than previous phone I had, so no major change for me here, though the screen is taller and narrower and AMOLED is brightness range is slightly higher. Plastic shell instead of aluminum or tin feels cheap, but the phone has weight to make it feel substantial. The black dot for the camera in the screen is very goofy, but it's the trend.
Comment by reviewer saying no microSD slot is false, the tray is two-sided to insert the SIM on one side and the microSD on the other.
