Great phone
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is by far the best phone I've owned. My previous androids were HTC and I'm so happy I made the switch to Samsung. The camera is fantastic, my cats whiskers look crystal clear in low light, the attached picture has been cropped and enlarged slightly. I have the wireless charging mat which is a fun gizmo but I'm glad that I got it for free, certainly not worth $60. The otterbox commuter case does work with the wireless mat, and the purple case looks very snazzy with the sapphire front of the phone. Call quality is excellent.

Excellent phone with one major problem
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The phone is excellent. All of the features of the phone work really well. The camera is fantastic. And I really enjoy using this state of the art, world class, top-of-the-line smart phone, with one exception. There is a setting called advanced calling 1.0. You need to turn this feature on which gives you both HD calling and video calling capability through Verizon. The sad part is that with this feature on the phone makes phone calls through the 4G LTE internet network and the service here on Long Island New York is not of a high enough quality to ensure interrupted phone calls. After going 10 years without dropped calls, I was back to a place where almost every other phone call people could not hear me or the phone call would fade out completely mimicking terrible cellular service. Turn off the advanced calling 1.0 feature and the cell phone will function like all other phones with clear phone conversation using the traditional means of cell towers to make the call. The sad part is due to the design of this phone, with the advanced calling 1.0 turned off although you will have clear phone calls you will not be able to have any data transfer during that phone call. That means forget looking something up on a map while speaking to a friend on the phone or doing any other Internet connectivity. So is it the problem in the design of the galaxy S6?, or is it Verizon's poor service for voice over Internet phone calls? Time will tell.

I bought an Otter Box carrying case for my S6
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Otter Box carrying case uses a belt clip and a side clip to hold the phone to the case. I think its doing an excellent job but twice I though the phone was securely attached to the case and it fell. No damage either time. The phone is protected when is on my belt or in my hand or loose. It is secures in a portable case that clicks to the portion that clips to my belt. It is a two part case that surrounds the phone It is a little differnt that the previous Otter box and is taking some time to get used to but it does the job and wasn't that expensive. The two pieces in the middle of the picture wrap the phone then the piece on the left holds them together and clips into to piece on the right.

Love phone but not the screen!!!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I went almost 2 yrs with my previous Motorola smartphone without any problems. When I received my new Samsung S6 I was enamored. I absolutely enjoyed the phone for almost a month. No dropped calls, slim fit in my hands, operational speed is super fast, great pictures and video, and I could go on. But I don't believe a $600.00+ retail price phone with the Tzumi Proglass Galaxy S6 Tempered Glass Screen Protector in place should shatter the very first time it falls from hip high. I do have insurance but it hurts when you have to pay $149.00 deductible to have your new 29 day old smartphone replaced with a used "replacement" phone. Oh yes I am sick! Corning Gorilla Glass advertisement - "In lab tests, Gorilla Glass 4 withstood 1-meter drops onto rough surfaces 80% of the time. That’s up to 2x better than competitive glass designs." Maybe my beef should be with Corning?

I Like It More Than I Thought I Would
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Im a stock Android fan, and my last Samsung phone was the Galaxy Nexus which I loved. Being a Verizon customer, my stock Android choices were pretty limited unless I was willing to root and custom load ROMs on my phone. My last phone was an LG G2 which is a great phone, but the digitizer was failing, so it was time to get a new phone. I looked at the Nexus 6, but holding it side by side with my G2, I just could not get used to the huge screen. I know a lot of people like the "phablet" phones, but I already have a tablet, and a laptop, and a desktop. I need my phone to be my phone. Plus the screen on the Nexus 6 is very yellow and just not nearly as vibrant as either Samsung or LG offerings. The LG G2 has a 5.2" screen and the S6 is 5.1". The difference is mainly in the width. Both phones are almost identical top to bottom, but the G2 is ever so slightly wider. Otherwise, the difference in the screens aren't that noticeable. Samsung's AMOLED panel renders colors slightly more vibrant than the LCD screen on the G2, and the viewing angle is much better on the S6. I was pleased to see that Samsung offers a couple of color adjustments. I find "AMOLED Photo" to be my preferred setting. This keeps the reds from getting too blown out. The increased sharpness really isnt that noticeable, except on a couple of games. Even though the screen is physically similar in dimension to my old phone, the increased resolution means more can fit on your screen at once. Overall, the screen is better in every way (except width) to my LG G2. Everyone who has spent more than 10 seconds reading about the S6 already knows theres no more plastic. The sides are aluminum and the back is glass. The phone is very classy in your hand and I love the design. Some people have commented that the camera sticks too far out of the back, but that doesnt bother me at all. I plan on using a case for this phone (I ordered one from another online store and Im still waiting for it to come). Performance wise, this phone is almost identical to my LG G2. The G2 was one of the first phones with the Snapdragon 800, and although the Exynos CPU in the S6 is faster on paper (plus 3GB of RAM vs 2GB), in day to day usage, I don't notice any difference. Both phones perform great. Battery life is great too. For me, as long as a phone can last a day with moderate use, Im happy. Some people complain that it cant go 2 days, but that's unrealistic for me. I appreciate the thin profile of the phone, and frankly couldn't care less that the battery is not swappable. Neither the LG G2 or my previous Galaxy Nexus had interchange batteries, and frankly, I have no desire to swap out a battery. Another complaint about this phone that I feel is overblown is the lack of removable SD card. This phone has 32 GB of storage, so did my old phone. I dont believe that the overwhelming majority of people need more than 32 GB these days. Cloud storage is plentiful and easy to use. Save your pictures and videos to the cloud and get them off your phone. I dont save local music to my phone other than the local cache for apps like Google Music or Spotify. I have at least 30-40 installed apps and games on my phone and at most, those use a combined 2 GB tops. I have never had less than 5 GB free on my 32 GB phones even before saving my pictures and video to the cloud. I acknowledge there are power users that do things that need expandable storage, but this isn' the catastrophic deal breaker that many people online make it out to be. Frankly, I love this phone. The fingerprint scanner works really well, and doesnt require you to move your finger at all. I registered 3 fingers and have never had a problem unlocking the phone. The IR remote works really well. Although I usually use the stock remotes for my TV and Dish Network, occasionally my kid loses the remote and its nice having a quick backup to change the channel or the volume. I wish the phone had dial front facing speakers like the Nexus 6 and HTC One, but this is far from a dealbreaker. I also wish this was stock Android, but to Samsung's credit, Touchwiz is greatly reduced from earlier versions. There is a lot of stock Lollipop here with minimal bloat. Although I've only had this phone for 3 days, I already know I love it. Samsung really hit it out of the park here. I think 5.1" is the perfect size for most people's hands, 32 GB is more than enough storage for the vast majority of people, and the lack of a removable battery is not an issue for me.

Great Functioning phone, needs some design changes
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: Phone is fast, screen size is good sized, IR sensor is nice, charges very fast, compatible with almost all wireless charging pads, both cameras are great, heart rate monitor is alright. I really like that I can double tap the home button and the camera will come up. I like that it is not constantly reminding me that there are wifi connections available like my old phone. I like the do not disturb feature so automatically every week day at 7:55 am all sounds are silenced and then they are turned back on at 4:30. 32GB of storage is nice for a base model unlike Apple. Cons: Non removable battery, no microSD card slot, when scrolling through the 5 home screens you can not continually scroll through them, when you get to the end of the home screens you have to scroll back unlike my old HTC Droid DNA. Also when you go into where all the apps are there is not a search option to find a specific app. Finger print scanner is alright. I can get it to work on the 1st try about 50% of the time, the rest of the times it may take 4 times and then I may even have to end up typing in the password and I have reset up and had it rescan my fingerprint a couple times now. Some the Samsung apps that pop up all the time are annoying since they are taking up battery life. Only issue with the do not disturb feature is that you can not do one for work and another instance for at night, or one for Sundays during church as well, you can only set one instance. Took me a little while to get used to taking screen shots but eventually got it down. Phone definitely looks more Blue that it does Black. Side Note: I HIGHLY RECOMMEND an Otterbox defender case. I laugh at all these people buying the terrible slim or what looks good and is not bulky cases. They are the ones that crack their phone screens at least once or twice within their 2 year contract. My brother did not have a case, he broke a phone 7 times in two years, next phone he got an otterbox defender case and he has not broken his phone screen yet and has had the phone for 1 year.

Best smartphone I have Owned
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was due for an upgrade and was looking to get something I knew would last for awhile. After researching into newer smartphones I decided to go with the Galaxy S6. It had all the features I was looking for in a phone and I knew it would last me a while. Pros- fast processor (cannot beat an 8 core CPU), the cameras are amazing with great features for photo editing, Kids Mode for my 5 year old, most updated droid OS, wireless charging, screen is amazing with great HD display, easy to change running features and apps. Cons- Battery is good but not the best. If you get is phone research online ways to extend life you will find it helps a lot. The phone is not waterproof but to me this was not a big deal. The glass surrounding the phone makes it hard to hold at times so make sure you get a case and screen protector (I use Armorsuit screen protectors) Thoughts- great phone with all the features I was looking for. It maybe new and recently released but I found Samsung makes a great phone! This was my first Samsung phone but after playing it for awhile I think I am hooked on the Galaxy line.

Q: QuestionWhich is the better deal? Installment plan or $1.00 with a two yr. contract.I'm not familiar with Verizon. I have ATT and save 15.00 with no contract but their service isn't good enough for the places I need the phone to work. What extra charges are involved with a contract?
Asked by DK.
- A:Answer I think the $1 deal is a way better deal since it's exactly what it says - $1. I would add Geek Squad protection, though. Of course, that means you're really paying about $8 per month and that adds up over the course of a 2 year contract, but it's still cheaper than the installment plan. My phone had a manufacturer malfunction with the internal speaker and I stopped being able to use it for regular conversation after I'd had it for about 6 months. When Geek Squad couldn't fix the problem, I got a new upgraded phone free of charge and my contract didn't start over, so I can still upgrade in another year and a half if I want.

Q: QuestionHow do I get my contacts, pictures, apps etc transferred to my new phone if I buy it at BEST BUY? I am a senior and not very tech savy.

- A:Answer Don't worry about your pictures or other files The Samsung staff in the store transfer all your files, pictures even apps to your new Samsung device!

Q: QuestionWhen I pay the 200 dollars for a two year contract (Verizon white Samsung Galaxy 6) do I still have to pay monthly? first time buying a phone.
Asked by Ethan.
This question was asked about the related product: Samsung - Galaxy S6 4G LTE with 32GB Memory Cell Phone (Verizon)
- A:Answer Yes. $200 is discounted price for this phone because you are buying it with new 2-year contract. If you stay on the contract you don't have to pay more for the phone itself but you will pay monthly for the service and it is not really cheap. If you decide to cancel contract before 2 years then you will pay the Cancellation fee which is several hundred dollars. From my experience is much better to buy phone for full price and use it with pre-paid service like Straight Talk. The monthly cost is about $50 for unlimited talk+text and 5Gb of data which is less than Verizon lowest offering. Straight Talk support "Bring Your Own Device" from AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon. The best way to estimate the value is to calculate total cost you going to pay over 2 years. Take initial price of the phone and add 24 month of service of your choice. Then the difference will be obvious. I bought Verizon-compatible phone for full price and hooked it up with Straight Talk and it work perfectly.

Q: QuestionIf you buy the phone for $1, do you still have to pay an additional $24 a month for it?DO you still have to pay for the device monthly in addition to service fees for the month?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer No you just pay the dollar but you are in the 2 year contract for the discounted price. Then you just pay your regular monthly bill and the upgrade fee which is usually 35 or 40 depend on your carrier

Q: Questionwhat difference from 4g to 4 g lte
Asked by 4g.
- A:Answer http://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/4g-vs-lte/ Basically 4G stands for the 4th GENERATION of cellular technology. LTE is more or less made up by the carriers to sound fancier than it is. All 4 major carriers claims the have '4G LTE' data, yet Verizon is hitting 99% of the country with 50MBPS DL speed (for example), whereas Sprint is hitting 50% of the country with 5MBPS DL speeds. They both are claiming 4G LTE, but are vastly different in their approaches.

Q: Questionshould i go with the s5 or s6?
Asked by Anonymous.
This question was asked about the related product: Samsung - Galaxy S6 4G LTE with 32GB Memory Cell Phone (Verizon)
- A:Answer I'd say go for the s6. I went back and forth between the 2 for like 2 weeks and am so happy with the s6. I also read alot of reviews that the s5 started slowing down and having problems once you did the software update but the s6 already comes with it and is built to support it so again I'd say go with the s6.
