A happy-go-lucky sausage (voiced by Seth Rogen) and his supermarket buddies including a hot dog bun (Kristen Wiig), a bagel (Edward Norton), a sausage (Michael Cera) and a taco (Salma Hayek) learn about the horror that awaits them when humans bring them home to chow down. Despite the hostility they get from other supermarket items unwilling to have their faith in a post-checkout afterlife deflated, they embark on an existential adventure to escape from their edible fate. This raunchy animated comedy from Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg is directed by Conrad Vernon (Monsters vs. Aliens) and holds the distinction of being the first R-rated computer animated feature.~Violet LeVoit

Funny but Vulgar
The cast was and always is incredible. Seth Rogen and his gang are funny no matter what they do. His voice is a character by itself. That being said, the movie was funny because they were in it. However, I think it was only funny because it was incredibly vulgar. The shock value alone makes it funny. The villain character was hard to watch at times...and the scene at the end seemed unnecessary... but then again, it was a Seth Rogen animated film about foods, so maybe it was completely necessary. Sometimes, you have to do something just because you could. If I had access to millions of dollars and a Pixar type annihilation studio, I would probably create some messed up stuff too, just because I could. This film gets an A for cast, and A for shock value, an A for animation, and an D for everything else. Still, it's average is pretty high, assuming you are.
