It's alright. Not terrible, not excellent.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off it doesn't look like the advertisement with the glossy gold details,it's just plain dull banana yellow accents. I've got a 2 bedroom 800 square foot apartment that's always clean for the most part but I needed something more practical for light cleaning like baseboards, around the trash, and small carpets so I bought this hoping for the best. I'm fairly happy with the suction but honestly I've never owned a hand held before so I don't have any comparative knowledge. What I don't like is the run time before the battery dies, barely enough time to complete enough cleaning, maybe 20 minutes but it felt more like 15 minutes. If you have pets and they are allowed on furniture on a full charge you'd MAYBE have enough time to thoroughly clean a couch, love seat, chair and maybe some kitty litter but then it would definitely die, less time if you use the pet brush attachment. Overall it is not bad I'm just not happy with the run time.

Gets the job done
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s a good dust or mess cleaner, not a powerful as a regular vacuum but it gets the job done, so far I like it.

Great handheld vac
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A great vacuum to clean up pet hair on furniture! The only concern I had is the compartment that holds the dirt/pet hair isn't completely enclosed. My dog's hair is super thin and I find hairs sticking out of the compartment. I will include a picture of what I am talking about after a quick small sweep. It's not like it spews out, so it's no problem for me and the vacuum does a great job of picking up hair especially with the Pet Power Brush!

VERY GOOD AND POWERFUL HANDHELD VACUUM
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Shark - UltraCyclone Pet Pro+ CH951 Cordless Hand Vac with Self-Cleaning Pet Power Brush is not just another handheld vacuum. It has a unique and very capable motorized pet hair / fur brush attachment that distinguishes this vacuum from the rest of the pack. The Shark CH951 comes with several accessories. Each of the attachments simply slip on to the front of the vacuum unit and are retained by friction. They include a narrow Crevice Tool, which measures only 1” x 0.5” on the end. This narrow orifice likely improves the suction of the vacuum by increasing air velocity, but it does not clean a very wide swath. It is most useful for cleaning corners, cushion seams, and other tight spaces. The “scrubbing brush” attachment has very short, ¼” long, stiff synthetic bristles. It’s good for surfaces which are not easily scratched, or for fabrics that will not be easily abraded. Generally, a brush attachment for a vacuum is referred to as an “upholstery brush” or a “dusting” attachment, and has longer, softer bristles. This brush is obviously different, and I will not use it to dust electronics or vehicle dashboard areas or anything else that requires a softer brush. The third attachment is the standout. The motorized, pet brush is really special. The motorized pet brush is different from typical vacuums. It installs easily by simply slipping it onto the nose of the vacuum, just like the other non-powered attachments. However, in order to power the motorized brush, there are two prongs which mate with the handheld unit and supply the battery power to the motorized brush. The effective cleaning width of the powered brush is 2-3/8”. Again, not a terribly wide cleaning swath, but not bad at all for this type of small unit. What is truly unique about the motorized brush, is that the “brushes” are not comprised of bristles. Rather, they are fabricated from what appears to be reinforced vinyl or vinyl fabric which serves as the “beaters” instead of the typical bristles brushes. Thus, when the brush unit is rotating and “beating” the surface being cleaned, pet (or human) hair does not become entangled or wrapped around the brushes. Brilliant! It would have been nice if a storage solution for the loose attachments was included; perhaps a drawstring bag. The main vacuum unit measures approximately 18” in overall length without any attachments affixed, and about 4” tall and 4” wide. There is a large loop style handle, with the thumb operated power switch immediately in front of the handle on the top of the unit. The balance is front heavy, but this is a relatively light appliance, and the weight and weight distribution are very comfortable. The vacuum motor is listed as being 8 amps. It is powered by a rechargeable, 2000 mAh Lithium Ion battery, which requires around six hours for a full recharge. The rechargeable battery is internal; not a removable battery pack where a second battery can be kept ready for lengthy cleaning sessions. It does not appear that the rechargeable battery is user serviceable. It appears that the unit will run for about 10 – 15 minutes on a charge, which is adequate for the type of cleaning tasks that this style of vacuum is designed for. It is a relative certainty that the operating time of the unit is reduced when the motorized brush unit is also being powered by the unit’s battery. There is an LED lamp adjacent to the pushbutton power switch, which indicates battery status when in operation, and the charging status when attached to the included low voltage charger. The vacuum motor is directly in front of the handle, and the exhaust is from both sides, at about a 45° angle. The vacuum is a bit loud, but not terribly so. The front of the vacuum motor is protected by a removable and washable frame mounted filter. Replacement filters are also available, which is good. Ahead of the filter is the dust cup, which collects the material ingested by the vacuum. The dust cup is not terribly large, but it actually held more detritus than I would have estimated. Dumping the contents of the dust cup requires only the press of a release button, and the hinged dust cup swivels downwards allowing the contents to be easily emptied. The Shark CH951 is relatively powerful for its compact size and weight. The suction is decent and it does a good job for small cleaning tasks. It is very well suited to a quick cleanup of a small area, the sofa cushions or a car mat or floor. Its small size and the small apertures of the cleaning attachments are clearly not intended for undertaking large cleaning tasks. We find it extremely handy to simply be able to quickly grab this self-contained vacuum for a quick cleanup. A caveat is that it is necessary to be attentive to the angle at which the vacuum is utilized, in order to maintain a relatively flat plane between the vacuum attachment and the surface being cleaned. If the angle becomes too shallow, the suction applied to the surface is reduced and the cleaning efficiency is diminished. The Shark CH951 is quite adept at collecting hair and fur, without the brushes becoming an entangled mess which is typical of other vacuums. The yellow synthetic strips which serve as the “brushes” do a nice job of removing hair and fur from carpets, which is the most difficult surface to remove fur from in my experience. However, I have to admit that this vacuum is no match for a prolific shedder like a German Shepherd, which is capable of producing fur/hair clumps the size of tumbleweed. This is evidenced by the extremely large bags of our central vacuum system, which are always bursting with Shepherd “wool”. For cleaning a small area, a few pieces of furniture, a car seat, or other limited areas, the Shark CH951 is terrific. The compact, lightweight and powerful Shark CH951 is really convenient, and very capable. It is handy to grab for quick cleanups and demonstrates very good cleaning performance.

Freaking Benny...
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this handheld vacuum because of BENNY. Freaking Benny. Part terrier-chihuahua, part mini-dachschund, all hair-dispenser. Gus, my beautiful black beast Gus, labradoodle german shepherd mix... he only drops a few black hairs. NOTHING compared to Benny. After countless tape rolls, and using our regular Shark and its attachments, we finally decided to look for an effective handheld designed to pick up pet hair. This vacuum does not disappoint! We used it 3 times in the first week we opened it. That's how much hair BENNY let's go. It works great! It's a bit loud, and I'd have liked if there was a more elegant charging mechanism so we could easily store it away without resting it on a countertop while it charges. Otherwise no major complaints. The battery lasts about an hour or two depending on the heaviness of the cleaning task, before requiring charging. It's more than enough to vacuum our large sectional and all 10,000 pillows on it, as well as most of our carpeted staircase. I'd highly recommend this vacuum.

Shark UltraCyclone Pet Pro+ CH951 ReviewAs pet owners can attest, the biggest problem of accommodating a furry friend is the amount of hair that gets everywhere. Sure, you can grab your regular (or cordless) vacuum for pet-hair pickup, but it can be a hassle if you're regularly having

Q: QuestionHow long is the battery duration?
Asked by Ree.
- A:Answer The vac includes a 2000ma battery. The motor is rated for 8amps draw (87w), which if you plug in those numbers to: https://www.digikey.com/en/resources/conversion-calculators/conversion-calculator-battery-life, you get 15m. Of course if you use the pet powered brush, it consumes ‘12w’ as rated by its sticker. That’s 1.1a additional, bringing our calculated runtime down to 13m. Empirically - that bears out - as I’ve gotten about 15m of runtime before it shuts down without the pet brush. I haven’t used the pet brush longer than 10m, but I’d assume it’d be pushing near the bottom fifth of the battery. It’s just cool to see the math, and designed capacities bear out in real life. As with any lithium battery, it will lose capacity over time, but hopefully it’ll last much better than the old NiCad batteries of yesteryear. Hopefully this helps!

Q: Questionwould this have the suction power to work well on a computer keyboard? some vacuums don't have the power to get deep into the keyboard. Thanks
Asked by Michael.
- A:Answer Dust on keyboards is tricky. Suction - this would do fine. But channeling that suction and getting the appropriate ‘scrubbing’ bristles to get it moving is the challenge. The scrubbing attachment found here is pretty short - so if we’re talking about a laptop keyboard, maybe. Otherwise I’d recommend looking at something with the appropriate nozzle sizes. There are a lot of cheap options on amazon, but also Shark has sold attachment sets for its other standard upright vacuums in the past with hoses, and detail nozzles/brushes. Unfortunately those won’t work with this nozzle design, but if you have another shark vacuum search for “Shark Micro vacuum accessory kit” and you should be able to find a kit that will give you a small hose and detail brushes.
