Shark - Vertex DuoClean PowerFin Upright Vacuum with Powered Lift-Away and Self-Cleaning Brushroll - Rose Gold

Here's my review ater a few weeks of use. TLDR: Excelent verstile vacuum that works well in combo floor settings. Some minor complaints that if fixed would make this the best vacuum ever. Pros: Excelent suction. It picks up just about everything. It does very well on carpet but its exceptional on my tile floors. As my home is 50/50 carpet/hard floors this was the perfect vacuum for me. The lift away function is something I can now never live without. As you can see from the pictures this is all the hair and debris from a SINGLE room. None of my vacuums were able to get under the bed but with the lift away powered mode I can use this like a stick vacuum and get all the crap under there. The pet attachment is both a pro and a con. The suction is actually too much lol. That makes it slightly hard to use but you're getting everything off the furniture. The long stick made it possible for me to reach and clean my air vents as well witch is a huge plus. All the attachments and versatility of this vacuum are simply great. Cons: It does feel a bit heavier than I expected it to be. Using the lift away in stick vacuum mode on carpet is cumbersome, as it pulls very hard without the weight of the bin. Even with the bin on, it does tend to pull slightly while on carpet. The hose attachment can come loose if you seperate the arm too far from the bin. Many other brand vacuums make it simple to clean the brush roll, but this requires surgery to get the brush roll out. The power cord conection on the unit is aimed up which I feel could cause damage in the long run when the cord is dragging down. I basically just hold the power cord up so it doesnt create any damage or wear. My other concern is longevity but time will tell.

To test it i vacuumed with my old vacuum, then went over the same areas with this new Vertex DuoClean PowerFins vacuum and MY GOD i can't believe what was stuck in my carpet! (I vacuum every 2-3 days) The power fins are really the next level. It even found some water that was spilled on the carpet 2 days earlier that I was sure was cleaned up and dry! THE NO HAIR WRAP SERIOUSLY WORKS!!!!! I'm so happy :) I have long hair and 1 cat and after 6 uses not 1 hair has gotten stuck in the brush roll. Very easy to assemble and use. LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!!

We've been Dyson customers for about 15-years. We had a great Dyson years ago. After it finally died, we bought a new, similar looking unit (Cinetic Big Ball Animal Canister) . Although it looked similar, the performance was nothing alike. We made due with that "new" Dyson for years. Recently, my wife was commenting on how poorly that unit was performing. I could not believe it could be materially worse than it had been. We pitted the unit against its younger, cordless sibling and the cordless unit decimated it - even after a through review and cleaning. So, this is where the story begins for the Shark. I did some research and opted to go with it versus another Dyson. Consider the following: I vacuumed a 10' x 7' area rug with BOTH Dyson vacuums, then I vacuumed with the Shark. Check out the picture attached. That was after just the first pass over the area rug with the Shark! To say we were amazed is an understatement! A second pass picked up a little more. The suction on this unit is impressive; phenomenal to say the least. What is not so phenomenal is how heavy and unwieldy the unit is. The unit is cumbersome - period. What makes it worse is the electric cable management. As much as I derided the Dyson's performance, the act of vacuuming was not so....clunky. The Dyson made it a smoother experience. Regardless, what I wanted in this vacuum was power and that is what I got! I am happy with the unit thus far. We will see what my wife says after a few rounds with the Shark...

This is a great vacuum. I have had a lot of different ones over the years and I would say if you get this one on a good sale you will be very happy with it. I have a large home 5 kids, 4 dogs, and other small animals. We have had this shark 2 1/2 years and it has been abused by my family daily. It is constantly banged into things used to suck up things it shouldn't. I would say it is getting to the end of its life. But again we are rough on our vacuums the brush rolls are worn out and the head is starting to get a little loose. We would fix it but the cost vs just replacing doesn't make sense to me since it's only a matter of time until something else would fail. I would repurchase this same vacuum in a heart beat but their new model brought back the light on the wand handle and that is a big thing that we missed when replacing the last shark we had. For use those little things make vacuuming much less of a chore. This is the 3rd top of line shark vacuum we have had and we have been pleased with all of them. We owned the original Dyson and it was great too but feel that cost wise the sharks are a better deal when on sale. We have also tried the less expensive sharks and there suction is just as good but are definitely not as nice. The feel of the vacuum is cheaper, the head path is smaller, they don't detach as easily. It's like a striped down Kia compared to a Cadillac. They both get you there but when you use it as much as we do making the time using more enjoyable is worth the extra cost.

Assembling it was a breeze, and its maneuverability is unmatched. The suction power is top-notch. I put it through the shedding hair test – it aced it! This marks my second Shark vacuum, and I must say, it didn't disappoint. From hardwood floors to upholstery and even walls, it tackled every surface effortlessly. Although a tad heavier than my previous Shark vacuum, the trade-off is well worth it for the remarkable performance. If you, like me, deal with shedding hair and diverse cleaning needs, this Shark vacuum is the one for you. It's not just a cleaning tool; it's a cleaning powerhouse that adds ease and efficiency to your household chores! The only regret you will have is, you didn't buy one sooner.
