I purchased a new gas stove as a Christmas gift for my grandma, as her old one quit working and was falling apart. It was quite the fire hazard. With the stove, I bought this gas line set as well(recommended by the salesperson/computer system), figuring that it would come with multiple attachments to ensure that it would hook up to any size fittings. Having been a manager in a plumbing department for over 2 years, I have a pretty good idea of fitting sizes on these types of gas lines. Well upon delivery of the product(about an hour late), my brother changed the orifices on the stove to accommodate the propane fuel instead of natural gas. When he completed this, he found that the gas lines did not come with a fitting that would work for the stove. So he had to go out and spend an additional 30 dollars to get the right gas line/fittings. Now the fight will begin to figure out compensation for these errors. The reason for not recommending the product isn't because the product is faulty or poor quality. It simply comes down to making sure that it will work with the product you are purchasing beforehand.

Not all gas lines are equal. I was hesitant to purchase this "generic" line when I purchased my gas range. It says online that Best Buy checks with local county codes to determine the proper length/type. As with any big box store, I questioned that fact, but purchased it anyway. It came with the flex hose, safety shutoff connector for the incoming side and adaptor/connector for the stove side. It also came with leak detector (though not enough if you're testing all connections) and plenty of thread dope. It appears to me that it is as good as the name brand type. I felt the instructions on which connector to put the thread dope on were slightly vague, but if you pull the permit with your county or local department, they should make sure it was all done correctly. Though generic, this appears to be the same you can get at other big box hardware stores, but priced a little more. Might be worth the extra price for the convenience when ordering it all together. Best Buy does Price Match, and the team at my local store have been very good with that whenever I go in.

The kit fitted my gas range Samsung NX58H5600S but not before we had to make arrangements to fit the kit. Long story short unfortunately the other end of the kit was not compatible with my gas pipe/line in setup (house to old or kit too new). If I am not mistaken , I was going from a female 1/2 diameter gas pipe/line in to the male 1/4 diameter gas line kit. The installers where stunt, and could not finish the install. Therefore ended up contracting the gas tech, so he could do the necessary changes to fit the pipe and the purchased kit. After that the kit performed it's function as specified. CONS: None with the kit performance, rather that it felt that it could have had a few extra pieces to make it work right from the beginning. Warning: Measure the pipe width/diameter and compare the measurements with the kit being bought. The installers in my case could not perform any modifications or adjustments and therefore could not complete the install.

I purchased this Samsung Gas range after reading online reviews and comparing product features to the price point. My only initial concern while reading reviews was using the knobs to ignite the burners. After having my new range for a month now, I am very pleased with the purchase. The knob ignitors work great with no issues; the oven has some of the largest room in it's class; the design and look of the stove are classy; and I believe the price was the best-in-class for the features it has.

I wish my review could be more helpful, but suffice it to say I purchased this piece at the suggestion of the sales people, and I'm ever so glad I did. At installation, I was told that a new line is always a good idea, because...and here I end, because I really don't remember why. Actually, it turns out that Best Buy will allow the delivery person, who has been trained, to install the new gas range only if a new line is used. As I recall, the line was about $30, and delivery was free, so in the end it proved to be a whole lot less expensive than having a plumber come to the house!. Good on ya, Best Buy! (said with that wonderful Aussie accent ~)

Required gas line for stove purchase

The gas line is a 5/8" OD, but what it does NOT tell you is that your gas line must be 1/2" thread. Mine is a 3/4" gas line. Of coarse this means that I can not get it installed and I need to " call a plumber" because they do not carry any reducers. Then they tell me "it happens all the time". What a convenient way not to have to hook up and install my stove, like was promised. Luckly I could get the reducer at a home supply warehouse and install everything myself. Thank you BB.

I had a new gas shut off valve installed off my house gas line with an outlet end to fit the flared fitting of the flexible gas line to the range. Unfortunately the new gas line package requires a one-way regulator valve which did not fit my 5/8" flared fitting end. I had to replace the brand new 5/8" flared fitting with a standard pipe thread outlet to accommodate the required one-way gas valve regulator, wasting $21.95 for the brand new valve that did not fit and was removed. I wish someone would have told me about this new one-way gas valve regulator so I could have bought the correct shut off valve to begin with.

Here are the pros: Great convection oven, cooks evenly. Plenty of cooktop space. Love having the long center burner for additional cooking. Not sure what to do with the griddle, it's too small to use but no other complaints there. My biggest complaint is buying online I did not realize this is not a true stainless steel oven. Only the front and knobs are stainless steel. The sides and top are black. My over does not have built around cabinets so all you see is the black from the sides and all my new appliances are stainless steel. I do not like the black at all but nothing I can do about it now.
