Great Sound Bar for reasonable cost
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Awesome bass with wireless SW. Simulated surround sound not bad for a 2.1 system, however, if you want true surround sound go for the 5.1 or 7.1 systems. Setup was a breeze. I got this system mainly to bring sound to the foreground for better clarity compared to speakers on my Brava TV. It it did that and then some by providing a better overall stereo experience for HD TV programming. Blueray movies sound amazing!

Amazing!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for a sound bar to go with the weak tinny sound of my new 60" flat screen! Listened to this one at store. Sounded ok for the $$$. It was hard to tell at store because of all the other noise from everyone else doing their thing. Guy at best buy price matched it for me to a lower price another store was selling it at without me even asking!!!! I got it $120 cheaper than the sale price they had!! I always use to avoid best buy!! Well not anymore! You just got a new regular customer!!! This sound bar hooked up easy and sounded OK, much better than the tv alone. I have a large living room! But after adjusting the bass/trebble controls and turning on the AAV which is preset to OFF this system opened up and well WOW!! Anyone that gave this sound bar a poor rating did not take the time to play with the controls or read the directions to set it up correctly! This thing is amazing! I had two friends over that have been in well known bands for over 20 years and were very impressed with The sound from this little sucker! One of them has a NICE true surround sound with 5 speakers. He went out the next day and got one of these!! That's saying something!!! Take the time to set this bar up right and you won't be disappointed! For the $$$ it can't be beat!!

Great value for a great product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was deciding between this soundbar and the Bose Cinemate 10. However, for about $50-100 less, there is just more bang for your buck with this Sony product. You get up to 300W of sound with the subwoofer which is pretty good, particularly for an city apartment sized living room. The bass is great and does not get too staticky at higher volumes. The feature that you get that the Bose Cinemate didn't offer was the Bluetooth option. It's great when I just want to listen to music chillin' on the couch or if I want my own music to play while working out to Insanity. Overall, definitely a great buy.

Great sound bar
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first sound bar and I love it. It is much easier to set up than the surround sound system that I have in the basement and the sound is comparable. Also, it costs considerably less then the surround sound system. I love the blue tooth feature. I easily connect Pandora from my cell phone to the sound bar. The clear sound and powerful subwoofer has made watching tv in the living room far more desirable because of the clear sound.

Good sound for price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Before buying this item, I bought and returned threeother items to complement my Sony KDL-50W800C TV. The first was the entry-level Sony HT-CT80, which is a 2015 model 80W soundbar, and the second was the Sony SWF-BR100, which is a 100 W wireless subwoofer compatible with the TV, and the third was the HT-CT260 soundbar with wireless subwoofer. The entry-level soundbar was good for its price, but still didn't sound loud enough, unless I used both the soundbar and the TV speakers. Music streamed via Bluetooth (or using an analog cable connected to my Airport Express) sounded only OK. The wireless subwoofer added impressive bass, but didn't help with the overall TV sound. Keeping both meant spending way too much. So I looked around and found this 2013 model on clearance. The HT-CT260 ended-up blocking part of the TV, and being gray in color didn't quite match the black color of the TV. Comparing all these products, the HT-CT370 seems like a good compromise for my needs. I was happy to find out that the color is black and matches my TV, TiVo and XBox pretty well, even though the online pictures show a a dark gray color.. The sound is decent and I like that streamed music as well as TV sound is loud enough to enjoy without a bass that might disturb the neighbors (the SWF-BR100 was thumpier), the soundbar is slim profile and fits nicely in front of the TV stand, and the wireless subwoofer can be tucked in nicely beside my couch. The bar is a little wider (because of diamond shape cross section) that the entry-level HT-CT80 (which had a square cross-section) and despite being lower in height, still manages to cover the TV's IR receiver. Hence, I wish they had added an IR emitter to the back of the bar, kind of like the one available with the HT-CT260H.

my first sound bar
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.purchased my first sound bar, the newest Sony HTCT 370. Purchased it solely based on reviews from the Las Vegas CES show. The hook up took less then 5 minutes ! The most difficult part was getting the carton open. I have a 7 yr old Sony flat screen, and Directv Genie DVR box. I ran an HDMI cable from the TV box to the sound bar; and another HDMI cable from the sound bar to the tv set. The sound is so much better then the tv speakers, which was to be expected. The wireless subwoofer linked up immediately. I can stream music form both my iPod and my iPad using buetooth, and that too, synced up immediately. The subwoofer is in no way overpowering, my walls do not rattle, the house does not roar unless i turn the subwoofer volume up all the way (there is a separate control for that on the remote control) the remote also allows one to turn the tv on/off separately from the sound bar;the remote allows me to change inputs on both the sound bar and the tv set si when i want to switch from DTV to Blue-ray i can easily do so. And, the remote lets me choose among 6 different predetermined sound settings; and on top of that, has 3 more setting that boost the 'spoken word' output. There is also a free app for iPhone and iPod that allows me to turn unit on/off without using remote; and, this app also has a minimal bass and treble adjustment that is not on the remote. All in all, not a lot of money, a great sound, easy set up, easy use. This is a great unit.

Great soundbar for the apartment
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Sony HTCT370 soundbar is great for my needs. I replaced my old and bulky surround sound system with this and have not been disappointed. It's very easy to set-up and preset audio settings make it very easy to figure out your preferred listening modes. I currently have it sitting on the TV stand instead of wall mounted, yet it still provides ample sound throughout the apartment. The bluetooth connectivity works well. The wireless subwoofer provides ample bass, but nothing overpowering - a very clean sound. A great purchase for anyone on a budget. A Non-Product Note: I would also like to point out the excellent service I received at my local Best Buy. The service techs there provided information on a multitude of sound bars and were able to select, accurately, the appropriate one for me without pressure to upgrade to a more expensive model. They also assisted in offering special financing as well. I really appreciate their efforts.

Q: QuestionActual dimensions? What is the length of the sound bar and the height at the highest point. I see that it is somewhat angular in the photo
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer The height is 2.5" when laid flat. The width is 35.5". You can also have this laid vertically - but I needed something less than 3".

Q: QuestionWhy do I have to always reset?I coupled my Sony HTCT370 sound Bar to an LG 42LB6300 TV. The system works well with one exception. Everytime I turn it on from being completely shut down I have to re-establish the channel for the sound bar. Even when it says I am on the right channel I must cycle through all the options till I am back to the original channel and then it will work.
Asked by Bob.
- A:Answer Hello Bob! We recommend to try changing the audio out format on your television to either Dolby Digital or PCM instead of leaving the feature AUTO, since the unit is having problems detecting the audio format and it resets the signal when scrolling through the inputs.~ Jeannette

Q: QuestionSony HT-CT370?CAn the Sony HT-CT370 Sound Bar be connected to a APEX HD TV with no HDMI (ARC) & no optical out terminal? The TV does have HDMI terminals, but not labels ARC.
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer This sound bar system is like most newer units. It is designed to use the HDMI Output from your cable set-top box, Blu-ray, and/or DVD as an HDMI input to the sound bar, then HDMI output from the sound bar to the TV HDMI Input. In other words, your video and audio start with a source (like the cable STB), pass through the sound bar, then to the TV. All audio/video connections are HMDI. I'm not familiar with your particular TV model, but if you TV has an HDMI input and your source has an HDMI output, this unit is compatible.

Q: QuestionBravia SyncI have a Sony TV with Bravia Sync capability. I expect the soundbar (2" height) to be sitting in front of the TV and will be blocking the TV signal receiver. My question is, after syncing the TV and soundbar, can I control the TV and with my Sony TV remote control (thru the TV and soundbar sync), even though the soundbar is blocking the signal?
Asked by Daniel.
- A:Answer I had to set my tv on some boards to make it higher because the sound bar was blocking the signal.
