LOVE IT!!
||Posted .Owned for 5 months when reviewed.I was hesitant on this lens because of the f stop, but with the f2.8 being almost double the price I decided to give it a go! I was totally blown away with how much I love this lens! It's super sharp and quick to focus. I've been able to take some amazing photos & video of my fiancé surfing with this lens. Of course video is a little unsteady at 300mm but nothing you can't correct in post! I use this lens primarily outside in good lighting, but I've been able to get some amazing photos out of it in low light setting as well (with the help of Lightroom). Highly recommend!

Excellent Lens, a must have
||Posted .I have no complains about this lens. the build quality is awesome, quality of the pictures is even better. Lens is heavy, but well balanced. zoom ring is smooth and not too long. images are surprisingly sharp corner to corner. This is the best Telezoom lens i have ever owned!

Terrific lens for nature shots and sports shots
||Posted .So far I have used this lens mostly on nature trails, but I've used the sports function on my camera - Sony A6000 - and it's fast, super fast. The clarity is crystal clear and it can reach way out there, which is what I need to capture my daughter playing soccer. It's a little heavy, so I can imagine using for a whole game would get tiresome on the shoulders. I would recommend a monopod if you don't already have one.

Very good intermediate zoom lens.
||Posted .Lens is very sharp in good light, but not as good in low-light situations. I have only had the lens for about a month and have used it almost exclusively for birds and other wildlife here in South Florida. I'm very happy with the results as I had been using the 55-210 kit lens that came with my a6000. It is a bit heavier than I was used to, but not bad. Iguanas below were well out of range, but cropped ok.

Sharp and well built!
||Posted .So far I have no issues with this lens. I bought the lens to compliment my SAL 70200g which is a awesome lens as well but quite a bit bigger. It is pretty quick focusing in good light but can hunt a little in low light which I expected. Its a pleasure to use. The extra 100mm is appreciated very much on my full frame A7. I plan on using it on my NEX7 as well.

great zoom lens
||Posted .Owned for 3 months when reviewed. It has definately been an adjustment using the SONY mirrorless camera with this zoom lens but when I get a good shot.... simply amazing. Crystal clear, captures both still and action shots superbly.

Great clarity even when cropped
||Posted .I use this lens on a A7M3. Images are very clear and I have been trying new things as the photo of the moon rising over Lake Michigan shows. I had been using an alpha 550 and it looks different because of the APS-C factor but things can be cropped and still be worth printing.

Outstanding lens
||Posted .Picture quality, focal range, speed and compact size make this an ideal travel partner. The only small caveat to that is the weight. Not far from similar lenses, but a bit on the heavy side.

Q: QuestionHow many stops of handhold-ability can this lens provide with the OSS along with the A7rII's, in body stabilization, and does it work in conjunction with each other?
Asked by kebe.
- A:Answer Hi Kebe, It is about 2 and a half stop when handheld. It works in conjunction with each other. The camera will control the Roll, X&Y, and the lens will control the Pitch&Yaw. If you turn off IS on the lens then the body will control all 5. Best regards, Zander

Q: QuestionHow dependable is this lens and does it need an extended warranty?
Asked by DifficultyRed.
- A:Answer I did not purchase the warranty. I trust the reviews I read about reliability. But the BB warranty replaces the lens if you damage it. Scratch, drop, soak and general abuse can justify the plan. I had the lens out is the San Francisco rains without a problem.

Q: QuestionIs there a telaconverter that will work with this lens? I have been led to be beliv there are 2 converters by Sony but they don't work with this lens. If not is one in the works? I do a lot of bird photography and need that extra reach.
Asked by Birdman.
- A:Answer I'm using the lens on a A6300. I find that it works great and don't use a teleconverter. These were shot about 40 feet away.

Q: QuestionG glass on the 70-300 that much better than reg on 24-240? Buying A7C and need zoom lens. Concerned weight of lens will be too heavy on A7c for me.For travel pics and family shots is what it will be used for. Want the best I can use w/o losing function
Asked by salex.
- A:Answer I have used that lens the 24-240 and I own the 70-300. They are both good lenses but the main thing to consider is what range you are trying to cover. I also own the 24-105 G lens so for me the 70-300 was the way to go. If you’re looking for a single lens to use I would recommend the 24-105 it’s what I have on my camera most of the time on vacation. I only switch to the 70-300 in situations where I can’t walk closer to the subject - like sports of wildlife. But if you have no lens right now and want to cover as much variety as possible the 24-240 is a good choice. Something also worth mentioning - the G isn’t just about the glass - it also has better focusing elements. Both the 24-105g and the 70-300g lock focus much faster than the 24-240 especially in low light.
