The Western drama miniseries Texas Rising is set in the throes of the Texas Revolution, and recounts important events in the early history of the Texas Rangers. This dramatic account of real-life events follows General Sam Houston (Bill Paxton) and his troops, as they battle the Mexican army, led by Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna (Olivier Martinez). After being defeated at the Alamo, the Texas troops are surrounded, but attempt to mount a comeback, leading to a dramatic conclusion at the Battle of San Jacinto. Brendan Fraser, Thomas Jane and Crispin Glover co-star in the five-part series, which also features Ray Liotta and Kris Kristofferson as President Andrew Jackson. ~ Tom Ciampoli
I bought this as a gift for someone who loves history and is more into non-fiction film than fiction. So I haven't actually watched this. However, the person I bought this for as a gift loved it and pretty much watched the entire thing in less than a day (it's 7 and a half hours long). He had said it was really good and he learned some interesting things.
I would recommend this to a friend
